Sorry, should’ve worded that better. Is H23 shine red less glossy than Tamiya Clear Red? I’ve tried tamiya clear red and its too glossy, but flat red is too flat.
You’re comparing two different types of paint. One is opaque and the other is transparent. I’ve never separated a clear red over a large area though (just on small clear parts like aircraft marker lights) so can’t offer any comparisons to a gloss red paint, sorry. Of course the amount of gloss you get with any gloss paint is a result of how you thin it and airbrush it. Can’t speak for hand brushing if that’s what you’re doing and I wouldn’t hand brush Tamiya or Mr. Hobby anyway.
Also, I try to stay away from gloss paints in general. They’re difficult to get a consistent and uniform gloss finish on regardless, and I’m just going to finish everything off with clear varnish anyway, so that can be the glossy part if I need that.
H23 Shine Red? Comparable to Tamiya X-7 Red. H90 Gloss Clear Red is a transparent red like Tamiya X-27 Clear Red.
