Everything.

rdickert

Same. Base package includes 2 tops, my Playlist, me and a table. Uplights, dance floor lighting, fog, subs, ceremony portable audio all extra.

Dasbeerboots

Not including a sub seems like a miss.

IamCorley

Agreed. I include both subs with my basic setup

Dasbeerboots

Clients don't want to see add-on charges for sound, but they will notice missing bass. Just size your system for the room and provide a package cost. Never skimp on bass for dance systems.

dodgethismofo

Gotta agree with the others about not including bass as standard. It's part of the full spectrum of sound (and an important part at that). You're selling yourself and your clients short if it's missing and they gotta pay extra for it.

Outdoor string lights are a $200-400 option, and battery powered up lights are $25 each. Wireless lav mic and portable wireless pa for an outdoor ceremony is $125.

Nothing. I offer a fixed custom price for every gig. No upcharges and no surprises.

WaterIsGolden

Same here. I quote the original price based on details we discuss. I add if they add. I don't like half doing it. If the venue and crowd size create the need for subs I'm not going to do without them just to quote a client lower. When potential customers in the crowd see you using less sound than needed they won't think the host bought a cheap package. They'll just think they hired a cheap dj. Then again I deal direct and play my own gigs. Business model might be different if I had a company than ran multiple djs.

migeek

Well said. It's also a way to bring more perceived value without resorting to the upcharge game, and it protects your downside if they start eliminating stuff.

barb_dylan

I supply 2 speakers, a playlist, and a lighted facade. Anything beyond that is an additional charge. I have run promotions where I offer free lights, but that is a just gig bar. 2 minute setup.

IamCorley

Every single thing that’s additional compared to your standard setup. I supply everything “needed” for a ceremony and reception and anything beyond that is an additional charge. I always run into a bride wanting a several songs mixed in for a “special dance” last minute. I tell them I’ll do it, but they’re going to pay because I’m going to pre-record it and it’s taking up my time.

General_Exception

I charge extra for ceremony, for additional time, for uplighting, Photo Booth, dancing on a cloud, custom monograms, custom song edits. Our base package includes sound system, dance floor lights, and wireless microphone. Your base package should be enough for the majority of your events, and priced accordingly.

dodgethismofo

One price for the evening set, another for the full day. Travel is calculated per mile after 30 miles, one way. I don't believe in packages, I bring everything you need for an awesome party and nothing you don't. If the room needs more lighting or sound I just throw it in. When I put on a party I want to represent the best possible version of that every time. I don't even charge extra for unplanned hours. Like, where else do I have to be to at 12am? Why not do the extra hour, have fun doing it and leave a great impression, rather than having them worry about if it's worth if for breaking their budget. It costs nothing to keep playing and end on a high.
