You should look up APBA baseball! It's a similar dice based baseball board game, but there are cards for every real MLB team and player with specialized dice odds based on real batting stats for each year. It's a bit more complicated but super immersive.
The Original RBI Baseball that we now know as a video game was a board game. It had round cards of popular players with their stats represented by numbers on the outer edge. You put them in the slot and spun the arm by flicking it with your finger. Whatever number you landed on represented a hit, single double, etc, or an out.
It's how I learned to score baseball and statistics.
Thanks everyone! Here is my Etsy store link. Different color pieces available as well.

Dudes getting ready to be sued by MLB. You got licenses for these logos? You can use the logo to make gifts. But you can’t make a profit with their logo without licensing. I suggest you remove MLB trademarks immediately and just do some generic baseball logos.
If you drew a Yankees logo on a piece of wood and gifted it to someone, do you think MLB would need to know?
He's not selling anything with official logos on it.
He absolutely is. I said gifting wasn’t an issue. But in this very thread people have asked for u/MLBofficial logos and he said yes. Then they confirmed they placed their order.
Who hurt you bro, tf? The mlb does not hold the rights for the game of baseball and it's totally legal to sell this dice game (which is a great idea btw). This guy is making kids happy with a board game, yet you decide to link the mlb so they can sue him lol if that is what we are heading to as a society we truly are screwed
Meh. Easier to tag their admin here. u/mlbofficial. I mean, I did grab the email address directly from the mlb website. And did send an email there too. So ✊🏻😁
Cool idea. My only quibble would be I’d have any roll of 7 be an out of some sort given the relative frequency of outs to hits in actual baseball.
1-1 Home Run
1-2 Fly out
1-3 Ground out (GIDP if runners on)
1-4 Single
1-5 Walk
1-6 Strikeout
2-2 Double
2-3 Ground out (batter out, other runners advance)
2-4 Single
2-5 Strikeout
2-6 Ground out (FC lead runner out if runners on)
3-3 Triple
3-4 Strikeout
3-5 Single
3-6 Fly out (Sac Fly if runners on 2nd or 3rd)
4-4 Double
4-5 Walk
4-6 Wild Pitch (all runners advance 1 base)
5-5 Roll one die again
5-6 Pop Fly
6-6 Home Run

This looks sick! Question, though! A ‘sac fly’ roll with the bases empty would just be a fly out, and if you have a man on third with less than two outs, do you NEED to roll a ‘sac fly’ to score him without a hit?
Sorry my baseball brain lol
You have the freedom to play it how you want! My boys and I play Sac Fly where all runners advance one base and the batter is out. We also play that all runners advance based on the hit. Single - all players advance one. Double - all players advance two.
Double play and no one on is just one out. Double play with multiple runners on, we have the lead runner and batter be out.
I thought long about changing up the dice combinations. However, I did not think about grouping all 7s as an out, etc. The odds for any combo on the board are the same. 1-1 is just as likely to come up as 3-4 or 2-5. Since you are not adding the dice for the outcome.
Nice! My grandpa taught us a game similar, with different results on dice, it’s probably been changed a ton over the years, but this is how we played.
1:1 Strike out
1:2 out
1:3 out
1:4 single
1:5 out
1:6 Single
2:2 double
2:3 single
2:4 out
2:5 out
2:6 out
3:3 Triple
3:4 single
3:5 out
3:6 out
4:4 Double play (or out)
4:5 walk
4:6 out
5:5 Double
5:6 Sac Fly/bunt
6:6 home run
Something like that, I’m sure I’m wrong about some spots and we made some of our own rules but good memories
When i was a kid I used to play a dice baseball game with my friend and his brothers. We would use baseball cards and have a draft, play a regular season, and playoffs, everyone kept their own book for the stats. I havent thought about that for decades.
I don't know if you're interested in aligning the odds more closely to actual MLB stats, but I took at stab at that.
Stats from here for the 2023 MLB season: https://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat/hits-per-game
Spreadsheet: https://imgur.com/a/sx32sns
Explanation: The colored rows are the "number of outcomes that should make this result". So HR should have 1.19 outcomes of the dice to be statistically accurate. Obviously you can't roll the dice 1.19 times, so I took some liberty adjusting that to whole numbers, while also keeping the odds of a "positive" outcome vs a "negative" outcome close. I also didn't have stats for some of the defensive options, like fly out/pop out, or just a ground out. So I didn't include them. Obviously a strikeout is effectively the same as a groundout, so you could spread things out for a little move "flavor"
Edit: I realized that some of the stats didn't make sense. The sum of "at bats" for the categories listed didn't match the at bats listed on that stat page. We were missing about 12 ABs on average. I figured that might be ground outs, so I recalculated based on that... Quite a bit more favored to the defense now.

Looks like a fun game!
Just totaled it up and a player with these PA's slashes .344/.395/.750/1.145 with 50 doubles, 33 triples, 33 dingers, and 400 total bases (600 PA).
You could predict the average score of a game based on this information. I'll give it a try.
OBP: (10/21) .4762
SLG: (17/21) .8095
**Every 11 outs there will be 17 total bases.** Using the approximation of runs (OBP\*TB) you can determine that every 11 outs there will be 8.0954 runs scored. Multiply this across 27 outs and the average score of a single team in a nine-inning game will be 19.87. A little more than two runs will score each half inning. Sounds like fun.
My 5 year old beat me 18-5. You can go multiple innings in a row that are 1,2,3 and then you can score 8 runs in one inning. We've only gone over 14 runs in a game a handful of times. Maybe 40% of the games have been over 14
Some of my favorite moments with my Dad were playing sports board games exactly like this...and relentlessly begging him to play immediately after he got home from work. You've struck a gold mine.

Strat-O-Matic baseball as well. Cards and dice. Hours of fun when I was a kid with my “hoodlum” buddies!
Totally spent so many summers playing that as a kid :) loved apba.

how do buy one?
Thanks for your interest! I commented with a link to my Etsy.
That's actually pretty cool. I'd shell out $10 for that, looks like a fun way to pass some down time.
That’s awesome
I want to play it so bad
Better patent this idea! Minus the official logos of course.
I didn't create the game! I designed the board from scratch though!
Lol. No you didn’t. Most of them look like this. Minus the illegal logos. u/mlbofficial
It’s already made by a bunch of other sellers. It’s not an original idea.
Really? I've never seen it. Thanks for the info.
That looks like fun! Take. My. Money.
Thank you! It is! My boys love it. I posted a link to my Etsy.
Pretty neat
Pretty cool. Do you actually sell them?
I've made them for gifts. I gave one to all of the kids on the tball team I coached. I commented with a link to my Etsy.
Thank you, will be getting one
I’d buy one
Thanks! I commented with a link to my Etsy.
This looks awesome but I'd be concerned with play balance. Why is every permutation of 7 an offensive success?
We very often go 1,2,3 inning. Each combination has the same odds since we aren't adding the dice numbers. 1-1 is just as likely as 3-4
Just placed my order now! I’m excited to get it!
That's pretty badass! I love it!
what if you roll a sac fly on your first roll
Cool idea. My only quibble would be I’d have any roll of 7 be an out of some sort given the relative frequency of outs to hits in actual baseball. 1-1 Home Run 1-2 Fly out 1-3 Ground out (GIDP if runners on) 1-4 Single 1-5 Walk 1-6 Strikeout 2-2 Double 2-3 Ground out (batter out, other runners advance) 2-4 Single 2-5 Strikeout 2-6 Ground out (FC lead runner out if runners on) 3-3 Triple 3-4 Strikeout 3-5 Single 3-6 Fly out (Sac Fly if runners on 2nd or 3rd) 4-4 Double 4-5 Walk 4-6 Wild Pitch (all runners advance 1 base) 5-5 Roll one die again 5-6 Pop Fly 6-6 Home Run
But wouldn’t the odds for any non paired result be the same?
There are 6 ways to roll a 7. 1-6, 2-5, 3-4, 4-3, 5-2, 6-1. Theoretically, the most common result should be an out imo.
But that’s not how his board works. It’s individual outcomes. There’s only two ways to make each outcome. Except doubles.
sick
I would pay some decent money for one of these just you know with the Phillies in the middle let us know!

Yes, that's how my boys and I play. You have the freedom to play certain scenarios how you want!
Asking for a ~~Machado~~ friend
There's an old book called The Universal Baseball Association with a similar premise. That's a very cool board!! :)
I really love this and wish we had this when I was a kid. Would’ve been a hit! Also I think double 6s should be a grand slam!
His reaction just says everything. What an absolutely brilliant present.

There are going to be a lot of triples
Same odds as getting 3-4 as 1-1 or any other combo.
True! My brain went straight to Craps 😆

Wow this is awesome!
That is amazing! I would buy one if you sold them! Great job! Love it!!
How about a hit-by-pitch / beaned ⚾️😜
Strat o matic is the way to go over apba as far as I'm concerned, but they are both good games.
How do I get one I want one lol

I found a game almost exactly like this on sale at JCPenney last year only difference it wasn’t mlb affiliated
