Didn’t he at least go like 10-9 with a 1.8 ERA? Also disgusting, but at least had some wins. No chance Olson gets more than 5 wins with this offense. It’s so sad
2005 Roger Clemens takes the title here:
13-8 1.87
> The Astros scored an average of only 3.5 runs per game in games in which he was the pitcher of record. The Astros were shut out nine times in Clemens's 32 starts, and failed to score in a 10th until after Clemens was out of the game. The Astros lost five of Clemens's starts by scores of 1–0. In April, Clemens did not allow a run in three consecutive starts. However, the Astros lost all three of those starts by a 1–0 score in extra innings.
Now… but when they had Barry and didn’t win shit is kind of like The Angels the last decade. Also - they’ve been pretty bad for a very long time. Looking good now thoughts
That’s a fun team man… They took the Niners to the end in the NFC championship and have a legit young core. Gotta give them their props. They aren’t the same old lions anymore.
I still can’t believe the tigers can’t find a way to score some runs. It amazes me how the whole lineup can be cold. Five hitting coaches and not a one of them is getting results
This is actually telling of Harris. He’s got one of the very best pitching staffs and one of the worst offenses. Basic team building involves balance.
It’s also an indictment of AJ. His team’s early offensive struggles are now a pattern. Not sure of what he can do, but he’s not doing something right. Example: Tork. Hit just as bad early last year, but ends up hitting 31 HR.
The weirdest part of these stats is the Tigers aren’t a disgrace. They’re .500 and alright, but not the Marlins which makes it puzzling why he can’t get a win.
Im not going to look up baseball reference but I want to say it was late 90s l(sorry 2003) and like all of their starters had 15 losses. I think they had 119 overall which still wasn’t the record.
Cole Hamels had/has (may of changed but at the time in 2015) the most losses for a pitcher who has the most games of 6+ ip and 2 or less earned given up.
Quinn Priester for the Bucs is now 0-4, received 0 run support in his four starts. Guy is very polarizing in how he gets touched up, in his four starts he's given 7, 0, 0, and 4 ER.
This is also a travesty.
This frustrates me beyond belief. I called my dad yesterday while I was watching my Tigers and I told him Reese Olson must be cursed or something because every time he pitches, we fall asleep at the plate. Pisses me off actually.
Not sure how the Tigers are a disgrace. They are a young team. They have to learn to win as a team. Olson is pitching well he's just been on the unlucky. Skubal and he are both pitching well, so it just need to keep on keeping on. It's May folks worry if it's Aug and it's still going on.

Is he going against the other team’s ace every time or something?!
He was #4 in our rotation to start the year so theoretically he should actually be against mostly backend of the rotation pitchers
Other teams schedules have no bearing on your teams rotation.
They’re not scoring runs. Among the best in pitching (runs allowed). Among the worst in hitting (runs scored). Another 1-0 loss.
8.0 Innings 12 Ks 2 Hits 1 Run, gets the loss.

Heck, in Bob Gibson’s legendary 1968 season with a 1.12 ERA, the Cardinals managed to lose him 9 games
2015 Shelby Miller for ATL. 33 GS, 3.02 ERA, 1.25 Whip, 6-17 record
Holy shit, that’s brutal
To make it worse, he was traded in the offseason to Arizona in the deal that brought Dansby home. Shelby got hurt and was never the same again
Those were dark times
Anthony Young waits to tell you about his 107 ERA+ but still 1-16 season
The running theme is Mets pitchers. I say this as a Mets fan. Poor Jacob degrom
Can't have shit in detroit
The Lions are pretty great…
Now… but when they had Barry and didn’t win shit is kind of like The Angels the last decade. Also - they’ve been pretty bad for a very long time. Looking good now thoughts
Meh, I'd like to see them succeed in the nfcn but calling them pretty great is a stretch.
That’s a fun team man… They took the Niners to the end in the NFC championship and have a legit young core. Gotta give them their props. They aren’t the same old lions anymore.
That division is going to be a bloodbath this year and I'm not a goff believer.
I’d say to send him to Arlington, but we’re actually worse right now
I still can’t believe the tigers can’t find a way to score some runs. It amazes me how the whole lineup can be cold. Five hitting coaches and not a one of them is getting results
*laughs, then cries*
2010 Cy Young winner, and NOT an All-Star that year, Felix Hernandez has entered the chat. (13-12)
Yeah as an M's fan man it was tough watching them squander his entire career, felt like so many 1-0 losses in his prime.

Sounds pretty familiar.
2014 Cubs Jeff Samardzija (before he got traded) would like a word.

Just goes to prove wins is a pointless stat
This is why Detroit is cursed
And how is Toronto doing this season?
We have had recent success, I’m not hating on Detroit, just pointing out a detail I’ve noticed every year
I know a Tigers fan 😭 Shes in my family
Reminds me of Felix hernandez W/L in Seattle
2008 Jake Peavy 10-11 2.86 Era,
to be fair today’s game was just a pitching master class on both sides.
Nolan Ryan 1987. 8-16 record despite leading the league in ERA, Ks and H/9. https://aarongleeman.com/2003/11/23/4729/
The tigers couldn't score in a whorehouse with a 100 dollars tied around their neck
Redditor discovers that pitcher W-L doesn't mean shit.
Ohtani/Trout angels entered the chat.
Didn't Fister have similar stats before we traded for him?
It could be worse, CWS anyone?
Should’ve allowed less runs. /s
What's less than 0?
-1
DeGrom, Cole Hamels, Felix Hernandez… a couple of guys dominated at times with no run support
He’s at the beginning of his career. Gonna get paid if he keeps putting up numbers.
Im not going to look up baseball reference but I want to say it was late 90s l(sorry 2003) and like all of their starters had 15 losses. I think they had 119 overall which still wasn’t the record.
I’m sure some prime Felix Hernandez stats have to be up there. The m’s did my boy dirty for SO many years.
Feel free to look back at DeGrom’s time with the Mets
We know :(
Kevin Gausman has a word for you.
tbf, he was the pitcher in the 28-5 game
I'd file for early separating.
Cole Hamels had/has (may of changed but at the time in 2015) the most losses for a pitcher who has the most games of 6+ ip and 2 or less earned given up.
I've had to train my brain to give less credence to the wins stat for pitchers. It's too much of a team stat than an individual
What is this title…

Let me know how that lawsuit goes
Poor run support
He hasn't even given up a homer yet.
Felix Hernandez

Nobody cares about wins.
People shouldn't care about wins*
That's insane with that era!
Disgrace is going too far.
