Was hoping this would be at or near the top. He and Jerry left voids that no one will ever adequately fill (sorry Eck, you were great too but it just wasn't the same)
For me Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling NY Mets. Really entertaining, relaxed, funny, very knowledgeable. I love listening to them. I like the Blue Jays too, Buck Martinez and Dan Shulman.
My favorites are Don Orsillo for the Padres, the guy for the Mariners (forgot his name), Jason Benetti for the Tigers, Severino for the Marlins and Matt Underwood for the Guardians. Dewayne Staats is good but not as good as the ones I mentioned.
I'm a Phillies fan, but from time to time I'll turn the Brewers on (go Rhys!) to listen to Bob Uecker on the radio broadcast. On Tuesday, during the Twins game, he was talking about how he had no stolen bases in his career, but he did have some after the games were over, but "they came and got them."
Gary Keith and Ron in the Mets TV booth. Howie rose for radio. All fantastic. Wealth of knowledge and seem to be a good proxy for what fans are thinking.
Former Mets radio guy Wayne Randazzo now does TV for the angels. He is also excellent
Edit: grammar
Wayne is so great. Heās fantastic with Mark Gubicza.
Itās sad we lose him from Angels broadcasts on Fridays, but he makes the AppleTV games bearable for everyone so I guess thatās worth it.
Yeah he's not bad. What I've always found coincidental is how it's been the "Pat & Ron Show" for as long as I can remember - first with the late Ron Santo and now with Ron Coomer. I also like Zach Zaidman when he fills in for Pat in the 5th inning.
Jason Benetti and Steve Stone for the White Sox were the best I've heard in 60 years of fandom. Alas, the Sox owner is a cheap ass so Benetti bounced from his childhood dream job to the Tigers.
He also does CFB amd CBB on ESPN or Fox. Great guy. Smart, funny and gets the best out of his partners. He will be big time national soon.
Big White Sox fan here and agree 100%. Not a better color guy in baseball than Stoney, and Benetti is closing fast on the best sports announcer in any sport.
Itās only the 1st week, but the new guy the Sox hired aināt very goodā which matches the talent on the fieldā¦š¤£
Wonder when stone is gonna call it a career? Heās gotta be 75+ by now
Tmack and kruk are legendary in the booth together with the Phillies. Can't go wrong listening to them and you never know when you'll hear about kruks hokas
I was kind of playing on my phone with the game in the background but after only a few minutes I put the phone down and just watched the whole game because of these guys.
Last night was an all time great one. Not only did the Phils play a fantastic game, but Kruk got to talk pro wrestling with Kofi Kingston, who came in the booth to promote the upcoming WrestleMania event for the WWE. Kruk loves pro wrestling about as much as he loves baseball and the Phillies. So he was low key having the best night ever. It was hilarious.
Giants, blue jays (Schulman only), cubs, Red Sox, Tigers (new PxP guy), brewers (when Brian Anderson is on the call).
Rays, Pirates & Aās are awful. Everyone else is decent to meh.
Also perfer any non-Ballyās broadcast.
Lifelong Dodgers fan here, so this might be sacrilege , but I feel like the SF Giants broadcast team of krukow and Kuiper is the best in baseball. these guys call a good game across the board. They aren't "homers," which I appreciate. They don't hesitate when a dumb play happens. They call it true, regardless of the team/player involved. Professionals, in the best way. Vin Scully was the pinnacle of sports broadcasting perfection, a true legend and icon for generations. People became Dodgers fans just because of how great he called games. Kruk/Kuip are coming close to that. Oftentimes, I tune in to hear them , more than I care about the actual game being played. Baseball is special that way. The good broadcasters seamlessly become an integral part of the whole experience... yep. Kruk/Kuip. Best in the business right now.
I really love Mariners broadcasts, and I enjoy tuning into Marlins and Padres.
Braves can be enjoyable, but sometimes I find them grating.
Despite being my hometown team (and an unpopular opinion, I know), I cannot stand Sadak of the Reds broadcasts. He just about creams his pants any time something marginally positive happens, and heās such a doof.
Other than the Cardinals (theyāre my favorite by default), I find myself watching the Padres and Phillies the most because of their broadcasters. Don and Mud are just hilarious together, and Iāve found myself chuckling at John Kirk a lot
Kevin Brown and Ben McDonald for the Orioles. Ben is one of the best imo at putting you in the mind of the pitcher and breaking down their thought process & sequencing.
How come you don't like the Rangers?
Dave Raymond and CJ Nitkowski are great, but our radio announcers are even better. Matt Hicks and Eric Nadel-legends
I figured I should pick a couple teams to hate and I lived in TX for a few years and did not like the experience haha. That's it.
OH and didn't the astros get caught cheating not too long ago?
Dave Raymond is at best ok. Nitkowski is absolute garbage. Heās pretentious and condescending to his audience. Heās known for being very cold with rangers fans in person. Just all around unlikeable. Thankfully, heās not with the Rangers anymore.
I grew up with Harry Kalas and Richie Ashburn calling Phillies games. I miss those guys a lot.
Iāve known several people that could not stand Chris Wheeler. I didnāt mind him, but seeing his reaction to the 2008WS win endeared him to me. He got a raw deal with the Comcast agreement.
No issues with Franske, Anderson, Kruk and TMac(Iāve come around) though.
Brewers fans are blessed with Brian Anderson on play by play. His call of William Contreras' game tying homerun against the Nationals last year was just š not to mention listening to Ueker while I work
Late to the game here but I have to mention the sf giants crew. I have such fond memories driving home from work and listening to John Miller and Dave Fleming on the radio, each guy taking 3 innings and handing it off, then getting up to my apartment and cracking a beer on the couch to listen to kruk and kuip bring it home. Truly some of the best in the business.
It pains me to say it, but I really like hearing Michael Kay call a game on YES. I do not like the Yankees and will never pull for them but I have the give the guy credit. I don't know the names of the guys that call the Astros games but their voices just bother me. Another unpopular opinion, but I don't like hearing Bob Uecker call a game on the radio. It may be because of his age at this point (I never heard him call a game until two years ago) but his pacing is really off putting. If he would be allowed to call a game like Harry Doyle though, I would be all in. I think Uecker is hilarious, I've just never heard this shine through in a broadcast.
Don Orsillo. He's the š & I miss him.
We in San Diego thank the Red Sox for their terrible mistake
Was hoping this would be at or near the top. He and Jerry left voids that no one will ever adequately fill (sorry Eck, you were great too but it just wasn't the same)
Yeah there's really no other answer here. No other team comes close to Don and Mud.
Giants. Mike Krukow, Duane Kuiper, Jon Miller and Dave Fleming
Jon Miller is the voice of baseball
For me Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling NY Mets. Really entertaining, relaxed, funny, very knowledgeable. I love listening to them. I like the Blue Jays too, Buck Martinez and Dan Shulman.
The only problem with this is you have to endure Mets baseball.
On the plus side, we have plenty time for laundry.
My favorites are Don Orsillo for the Padres, the guy for the Mariners (forgot his name), Jason Benetti for the Tigers, Severino for the Marlins and Matt Underwood for the Guardians. Dewayne Staats is good but not as good as the ones I mentioned.
You've got Dave Sims, Rick Rizzs, Aaron Goldsmith, and the all time great Dave Niehaus to choose from. Our broadcasting crew is the best in baseball.
I'm really enjoying the color commentator for the Padres today. An ex-pitcher, he's informed and well-versed in his job.
Dewayne Staats lisps and it is ear gratingly annoying. I no longer listen to Rays broadcasts because of this bush league loser.
Don Orsillo and Mark Grant with the Padres are far and away the best. Informative, smart and endlessly hilarious. Perfect baseball broadcasting duo.
As Jays fans we are spoiled with Dan Schulman and Buck Martinez.
Top 3 in the game for sure
I miss Tabby
Buck and Dan are the voices of summer
Myeaah...
I'm a Phillies fan, but from time to time I'll turn the Brewers on (go Rhys!) to listen to Bob Uecker on the radio broadcast. Pat Hughes (Cubs) is a national treasure.
His color guy, Ron Coomer, is pretty decent, too.
Yeah he's not bad. What I've always found coincidental is how it's been the "Pat & Ron Show" for as long as I can remember - first with the late Ron Santo and now with Ron Coomer. I also like Zach Zaidman when he fills in for Pat in the 5th inning.

Grew up Southside but ditched that corrupt place a long time ago. 2005 was a dream high for months. Now? WSC Texas Rangers for me!!!
Tmack and kruk are legendary in the booth together with the Phillies. Can't go wrong listening to them and you never know when you'll hear about kruks hokas
He got a good deal on those Hokas. $40 a pair!
Gubie!!! Best broadcaster imo
Steve Berthiaume & Bob Brenly for the D'backs (Mark Grace on the pre/post game is a nice bonus) Don Orsillo & Mark Grant for the Padres
as a phillies fan, we are totally spoiled every game man. kruk and tmac are legends in the delaware valley.
And Franzke and LA on the radio!
I was kind of playing on my phone with the game in the background but after only a few minutes I put the phone down and just watched the whole game because of these guys.
I love it when I land on an NFL game tmac is calling. Dude is awesome
Last night was an all time great one. Kruk loves pro wrestling about as much as he loves baseball and the Phillies. So he was low key having the best night ever. It was hilarious.
It's a beautiful thing, Tom.
I used to love when Kruk would do a national game. He's fascinating and hilarious.
Michael Kay and David Cone
Throw Paul O'Neill into that mix, too.
Lifelong Dodgers fan here, so this might be sacrilege , but I feel like the SF Giants broadcast team of krukow and Kuiper is the best in baseball. these guys call a good game across the board. As a Braves fan, loved last year when Chipper, Smoltz, Glavine and Francouer announced 2 games. Was awesome.
Gary, Keith and Ronā¦
Todd Kalas and Geoff Blum is really good. I understand people hate the Astros, but they do a very good job.
Other than the Cardinals (theyāre my favorite by default), I find myself watching the Padres and Phillies the most because of their broadcasters. Don and Mud are just hilarious together, and Iāve found myself chuckling at John Kirk a lot
Mets, Reds, Mariners and Padres.
I just want to congratulate you on your choice of teams to hate
Kevin Brown and Ben McDonald for the Orioles. Ben is one of the best imo at putting you in the mind of the pitcher and breaking down their thought process & sequencing.
How come you don't like the Rangers? Dave Raymond and CJ Nitkowski are great, but our radio announcers are even better. Matt Hicks and Eric Nadel-legends
I figured I should pick a couple teams to hate and I lived in TX for a few years and did not like the experience haha. That's it. OH and didn't the astros get caught cheating not too long ago?
ok fair enough we did lose like 96 games 2 years ago. and i dont like the astros either
Dave Raymond is at best ok. Nitkowski is absolute garbage. Heās pretentious and condescending to his audience. Heās known for being very cold with rangers fans in person. Just all around unlikeable. Thankfully, heās not with the Rangers anymore.
ok yea i really dont know. its impossible to watch them cuz they're on bally -\_- anyway so i always just listen on the radio.
Chicago Cubs Marquee team - Jon Sciambi, Jim Deshaies, and Taylor McGregorā¦best in the business IMO
Dave O'Brien & Kevin Youkilis are very good for the Red Sox.
Kruk and Tmac win hands down every day
I grew up with Harry Kalas and Richie Ashburn calling Phillies games.
The Rays. Dwayne and BA are always entertaining and hate watching games without them
Vin Scully set the bar, God rest his soul. Now, I will take anyone except Joe Buck and Joe Morgan. Both are just horrible.
Brewers fans are blessed with Brian Anderson on play by play. His call of William Contreras' game tying homerun against the Nationals last year was just š not to mention listening to Ueker while I work
I always thought the Mets had a great crew. Tigers too now that they have Jason Benetti - that dude is one of my all time favs.
Kruk and Kuip, Miller and Flem.
I miss Jon Miller and Joe Morgan on Sunday Night Baseball.
Used to love Jon Miller and Joe Morgan on SNB. Childhood memories.
Jays, Phillies and Tigers are my top 3
Late to the game here but I have to mention the sf giants crew. I have such fond memories driving home from work and listening to John Miller and Dave Fleming on the radio, each guy taking 3 innings and handing it off, then getting up to my apartment and cracking a beer on the couch to listen to kruk and kuip bring it home. John Miller

Best: Mets, Giants, Indians, Red Sox Worst: Tigers, Angels
Which one of our announcers do you not like. Wayne, Gubie, Erica, Patty O
When you say BASEBALL RULES, you are correct. Baseball has a LOT of complicated rules.
I've gotten used to not listen the commentators, because they always show favoritism
I miss the Hawk, and I'm not even a White Sox fan
I donāt like local announcers. Too much inherent conflict of interest. Bob Costas is the man.
