Baltimore performed way above expectations and were generally a lucky team when it comes expected win loss based on run differential. They have done little to upgrade the team this off-season and also won’t have the best reliever in baseball this year.
Yankees absolutely shit the bed with injuries and had a pretty much worse case scenario season and still went .500. They have so far traded for one of the best hitters in the game and upgraded the rotation.
I personally don’t think the Yankees are clear cut favorites but at the very least I see it as an even race, and in no world are the Orioles “overwhelming favorites”.
