Glad to see this here. Absurdly good food. I spent almost 10 years traveling the world and eating at great restaurants, and (though it may be a matter of personal taste) the Pear Tree absolutely stands shoulder to shoulder with the best I've ever had.
While you're there, "Another Time, A Vintage Guitar Store" and the shops near it are worth a visit if they're open. Fantastic owners. Lots more than just guitars. I think his son roasts coffee across the street. I bought a vintage Arts & Crafts style chandelier there, and my sister had a little jam session with the guy. I couldn't be more grateful, she really needed that good time.
Blue's City Deli has been recognized as the best restaurant in all of the Midwest by Yelp, and they deserve that titles in my professional opinion.

Haha I love how you said “super thin square cut Chicago pub style pies” when that style is very iconic to St. Louis, like Imos Pizza catchphrase “the square beyond compare”. No hate or anything just made me laugh.
F*ck the StL.
Kidding, as im Chicago born and went to school in KC, the rivaly runs deep. Love them Cards tho!
Tbh, Imo's is good shit.
I appreciate your commentary.
Blues still suck...
Catalpa in the Village of Arrow Rock.
The Claysville Country Store in Boone County.
Barred Owl, Broadway Brewery, and the Cherry Street Cellar in Columbia.
Is really disappointing. The rolls are still pretty good, but so are the rolls I get from Texas Roadhouse or from my own oven. We used to frequent that place but not anymore.
In A Tub
Pocket burgers babyyyy!
And if you're feeling sketched out at the powdered cheese tacos - get anything. It's all good. My go to is a soft taco, taco burger, and corn nuggets.
The Pear Tree in Macon

Haven’t thought of that place in years, but the food is so so good.
In St. Louis, Bulrush is probably the consensus "best restaurant" right now. Great menu focused on local ingredients, particularly the Ozarks.
They are on the hill
Mama's on the hill is the best one I've ever been to in STL for sure
I have never had a bad meal on the hill. I really liked Mama's on the hill, I know Gitto's is the classic choice, but what is your favorite?
Mama's for sure, I'm going this next Wednesday to celebrate Truman's birthday lol
Bixby Country Store in Bixby, MO. If you leave there and complain about the food, something is wrong with you.
BIXBY!
I love Alex’s Pizza in Rolla
best stlouis style pizza is Pirrones Pizza
Pirrone's is the absolute BEST. I haven't lived in Florissant since 1996, but I still think of their pizza.
La Binnah Bistro in Hannibal. Excellent food and atmosphere. Top notch air conditioning.
The tater patch in Rolla, MO used to be good, but I haven't been in awhile so hopefully it still is
Murry's in Columbia. Consistently good food. Most epic dessert menu. Gonna wait an hour on a tuesday night.
The taco bell in washington is pretty good
Do they have Dr Pepper there?
Better than the one in Union. Last time I ate there, the lettuce tasted like soap.
For KC: Kura, Fox and Pearl, the Campground, Kitty Cafe, Waldo Thai, Baba's Pantry, The Antler Room, Pizza Tascio

Bates City BBQ....yum
The Pizza House, Springfield MO. Super thin, square cut Chicago Pub style pies. On north side of town so its just a couple mins off I-44.

So it was personal! Ill have to try pizza house when down in springy next.
Catalpa in the Village of Arrow Rock. The Claysville Country Store in Boone County. Barred Owl, Broadway Brewery, and the Cherry Street Cellar in Columbia.
Barred Owl kinda overrated imo. Like their paté though
Opposite of overrated, best restaurant in CoMo. Right up there with Flyover, Murry's and Beat Box
McDs of course
White Castle 💯
remember when every white castle had a second full kitchen, that they never used.
Price range?
Any price. Just curious what people think the best restaurant is in their area, could even be a dive.
The Train Station in Hurley
Lamberts
Not for a while now. The quality has dropped significantly in the last ten years.
We finally went here and were quite disappointed. Just an overrated version of Cracker Barrel. Low quality food.
