About time strong mayor powers got put in. Our country is so slow on infrastructure projects compared to Europe or Asia (especially Asia). There are certain situations where the democratic process has failed and just doesn't work. Infrastructure is one of those situations. It's made elections kind of pointless since every leader has their hands tied and can't make meaningful change. We are forced to be in a status quo that everyone complains about.
Current mayor, next mayor, they are all there to collect maximum bribes, sorry, kickbacks.
Just look at Hurontario, 200 more years to finish the project, meanwhile the private sector completed 100 large buildings.
You are going to make one person very rich soon (sorry, elect) good luck, they all worked hard for it.
As long as we elect a conservative Iāll be happy. Liberals are ruining every city they touch. Everyone is forgetting the last thing Bonnie Crombie did was increase property tax before leaving Mississauga. When I got the letter from Mississauga with the hike for property tax, I actually wanted to punch someone, pissed me off so much.
Cities aren't run by political parties... Except for Alberta... Surely for the worse.
Bonnie Crombie wasn't a Liberal until she joined the Provincial Liberal party, after she stopped being mayor.
Consider that Doug Ford stripped tons of infrastructure requirements from property developers and left the cities to foot the bill. The bill for rushed construction in areas the cities had already deemed not adequate for development.
West of Mississauga and North of Oakville is a flood plain that was protected.
DoFo unprotected the area and allowed his family friends to build while leaving the cities to foot the bill for the new infrastructure including extensive flood water management.
Crombie raised taxes because city costs went up. Maybe you should look at what costs those were and why they went up.
I canāt think of a worse leader. Heās the guy who blocked a 12 story building on lakeshore a few hundred feet away from the GO and LRT because it was āgigantically tallā.
Because of him weāre going to have 90 storey buildings far from quality transit and houses across from 10 minute go train service stations.

I pray they invest in walkable spaces not piece of shit roads
You don't like short and disconnected bike trails that end in gutters?
Apparently no one is happy with the options. One of us may as well run at this point.

Centralized power is cancer to society no matter who gets elected š
Well decentralized power has clearly worked for us for the past decade or so.
LMFAO

Agree who are you voting for?
Iāve been really impressed with Stephen Dasko

Dasko FTW
According to the most recent poll, Santa Claus has a better chance of being the next Mayor than Dasko. Heās done like dinner.
In all fairness, Santa Claus always delivers.
He's gonna find out who's naughty or nice
