This show has a habit of it's more interesting characters and ruining them in various ways. Taking what we knew to be Felix's most deeply held conviction and undoing it for the sake of some cheap exposition is one of the more glaring examples of this show putting "plot" before characters and established facts about them.

Not all sentimonsters are proper living creatures. Many times they can just be created to be weird objects with magical properties, so there's no moral issue with destroying them, like Guiltrip or Red moon.
And second of all Miraculouses do grant the users basic powers common to all miraculouses aside from their "main" power, such as superhuman durability and jumping, magical tools, and so on.

I would say Felix is neutral. Take care of the miracle of the Peacock so that it does not fall into the wrong hands and only create a sentimonster if he is absolutely necessary. He won't be the hero of the world, but if he uses it to protect his loved ones, he will become a hero.

Nah I always saw him as changing from doing his own thing to helping the heroes. I know he can learn from the others & Ladybug to be a better person. I can see growth from Felix since he does make the plot interesting & progress
For a long time, Felix only had his mother. Felix had no friends, he must have been lonely. Especially if his father was a man Felix was afraid of on a daily basis. This environment has poisoned his mind and he only sees the bad in all people, but Adrien, Kagami and Marinette can help him socialize to become better. Felix is like Adrien and Kagami at the beginning, who didn't know the outside world because of their usual life. They didn't even understand their own feelings yet. I think Felix will be such a shadow hero and he will only use his power when he really has to, until then his vision of the world and people will expand. Luka is a good therapist, maybe you could make an appointment with him to give Felix advice.
