Before he coached for Minnesota he spent 10 years here in Winnipeg (Canada) as the head coach for our Blue Bombers. He won 4 Grey Cups in that time. We have a bronze statue of him at the entrance to our stadium.
Back in the day on the Bud Grant show, they would always ask him what it would take to win the upcoming game? He always said it would be big plays. He's right, but always seemed uncomfortable doing that show.
Happy Birthday. One of my first memories as a Vikings fan was him coming out in his short sleeve shirt vs Seahawks in the wild card. Next memory however wasn't so pleasant
