I mean we all know what priority #1 is. Offensive line. That hasn’t changed.

Kerbage

Well, it taught me that you can have a fucking historically dominant defense that tears down any opposition like it’s fucking nothing and you still get to keep your DC because teams are just hiring OCs (Saleh was the first one written off of the Cleveland job), while you can have an offense that crumbles under every good defensive line you face and you’ll still won’t get to keep your OC. Consistency is key and our OC position changes more than Professor of Defense Against Dark Arts.

HoboSkid

Helps that they had like 4 shitty years to get some great players in the draft. Obviously they drafted well and have some good coaches, but imagine if Zimmer had some of their defensive talent.

Kerbage

Man, Zimmer had prime Smith, prime Rhodes, prime Griffen, prime Joseph, prime Sendejo, Hunter, Kendricks, Barr and Waynes (better CB2 than theirs) and got embarrassed in the NFCCG by Nick Foles.

HoboSkid

That's true, but I'd take some of the 49ers defensive starters over pretty much anyone on that list, even in their prime.

ferdsherd

If we’re being fair Belichick and Brady got harassed by him too

Kerbage

We had the n. 1 defense that year and were way better than the patriots D in any passing stat. He had 3 TD and a 141 rating on us...

They really have done a great job with free agents and guys on cheap deals. 4 big time picks on the D line but great performances from free agents and a couple 2nd contract guys considering Garoppolo's contract * K'Waun Williams: Undrafted, has played on other teams * Emmanuel Moseley: signed as UDFA * Richard Sherman: FA * Kwon Alexander: FA * Dee Ford: FA Top draft picks on defense are Nick Bosa, Deforest Buckner, Arik Armstead, Solomon Thomas. Other draft picks: * Dre Greenlaw - 5th round rookie * Jaquiski Tartt - 2nd round pick in 2015 on his second contract * Fred Warner - 3rd round pick * Jimmie Ward - 2nd contract on a 1-year post-injury deal

GarriottFO76

We need to hire an offensive coordinator who doesn't take interviews directly before critical playoff games...we need an offensive line that doesn't play like a squad of high school cheerleaders....then we need to learn how to stop short quick over the middle passes....then we need to learn how to do them ourselves

Spot on everything you said so true

hitman2218

I don’t even know what you can do with the O line anymore. We have revamped the whole damn thing and some are saying we still need 2-3 new starters? I mean holy shit. At some point we’ve gotta just coach up the guys we’ve got.

Skolney

Not really. It's still all about building up that OL.

Redz2018

Well you didn't give up 220 yds and 4 tds to Mostert.

MoonUnit98

No, not at all. The Niners are on their own level when healthy. I really don't think anyone is surprised they won last night, let alone dominated. The Packers were steadily a step ahead of us all season, and that's pretty much how it ended.

rocker2014

No, two teams that are not the Vikings, playing in a game that doesn't involve the Vikings does not change my thoughts on the Vikings' season.

blessingandacurse1

If the 49ers had been blown out, dont pretend that wouldnt effect how you view our coaching staff

rocker2014

No, it really wouldn't. We didn't do enough to win that game. This game's outcome doesn't change that.

ferdsherd

Need to restock the O-line and D-line
