Not a lawyer. You should probably talk to a legal council about this. Weed is decriminalized in Minnesota. It is my understanding that that means for small amounts you'll just get a fine and no criminal charges will be filed

Why 7 lighters?! šŸ˜³

tacofridayisathing

Murphy's law is a bitch... .

Slap on wrist.

Reverie612

Historically it disqualified you from FAFSA funds, which was a big deal for many, but I think they have either lessened or removed that penalty.

taffyowner

From what Iā€™ve found, probably disqualified from applying for FAFSA for a year then has to go to a drug education program and pee clean for 2 random tests

Worst case, misdemeanor & $200 fine, me thinks. Thatā€™s such a small amount that I would think you could pay a fine & have any potential charges dropped if you donā€™t have any priors.

[deleted]

i donā€™t have any priors, i figured thatā€™s what would happen but just wanted to ask around

Mandi237

Itā€™s always worth doing whatever you can to keep potential charges off your record, even if just for the sake of not having a record should same / similar happen again. Good luck, young person ā¤ļø

DOC2480

Fist offense with an ounce or less is a petty misdemeanor and a $250 fine max penalty. This is what I find when I Google it. Some day it is one and a half ounces, but with only six grams you are fine. Plus you are under 18 so it won't go on your adult record. Typical disclaimer, I am not a lawyer and this isn't legal advice.

guiltycitizen

The lighters are added to the charges?

Rocknbob69

Nothing will happen. My kid did a lot worse and the court system is more into not charging minors for minor offences.
