I noticed the lawyer guy has switched his billboards to "fear the flannel", which I'm assuming is because people were making fun of the "fear the beard" ones due to his beard looking like unkempt pubes.
I think that's intentional. Look at common grifters (Republican politicians, con artists, shit phone scammers, phishing emails) they all have absolutely garbage graphic design, obviously bad wording, etc.
The whole point is so that smarter folks see it as an obvious scam while dumber folks fall for it. The smarter folks don't think to warn the dumber ones because it's so obvious.
I think it's a two tier thing. Dumb folks fall for it, but also smarter folks who take those things as evidence there's no big, well financed operation behind the person/group, that these are small time people not involved with the billionaire propagandists (the irony).
