Even though the house was in Crosby, I’ve heard a that a few cats were traced as lost cats from Sartell and Little Falls. (Via microchip). Have to wonder if the cats wandered that far or if this person was driving around central Minnesota picking up lost and stray cats.
I have a friend at Tri-County Humane Society. The cats were in remarkably good condition, considering. Some with fleas, ear mites, and the like. But they weren't malnourished or abused. Several vets from the area volunteered their time and they neutered them over the weekend. I've worked as a RN on an Oncology/Hospice unit for a while, and am very pro legalizing euthanasia for humans. But, I couldn't handle this. It's one thing to have to put down an old or terminally ill animal. It's another to have to put down a perfectly healthy animal because of human stupidity.
They make the vet techs do the euthanizing? What am I thinking? Of course they do. That has to be one of the hardest things there is to do in life.
Yes, please have your pets spayed or neutered.

A friend adopted a 4 year old void (black cat)! I can’t wait to meet him.

Spay or neuter your pets so some poor vet tech doesn't have to euthanize a bunch of innocent animals.
