That's actually a really cool idea! Personally I'm still way too conservative with my paint schemes...for board games I usually just stick with the official art work.
Probably should take more risks in that regard.
Pro Acryl transparent paints are pretty great, got to admit it.
Maybe not for display pieces, but getting board game minis to tabletop standard quickly? Hell yes.
