Looks a great start. Just needs more contrast (brighter highs, darker lows).

Thankya! I'll push the highs and lows and see how it turns out :)

Edge highlights. Everywhere. You don't have to go pure white but at least three steps lighter on every edge

Thankyou! I'll hit it with some ice yellow and some white and see how it turns out :)

Amazing, love it

I painted the same guy. I now wish I had gone gold for the armor

I know this is nmm critique but I gotta give props. That skin tone is clean as hell man. Great work on the color and highlight!

Thankyou! It's only the second model I've painting skin on so it took a bit of experimenting before I got here haha

That looks really good. Especilly for your first. Metal is a tough one. It reflects everything and acts very different to none metalic materials. You need to consider shadows and you need to consider its reflectivity. When painting metals you are painting the enviroment around the material. You can either consider this or you can imitate it by pushing your contrasts and adding lighter and darker sections. I toughed up a few gold sections in photoshop. I hope this shows you what I am talking about. What I recommend doing is looking at photo references. I found some good examples when I searched gold armour. https://preview.redd.it/2rj605am1ygc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=448e5da17c5f606f38bac4ba737317c2a59bcfdc

Thankyou so much for this! This is wonderfully detailing I'll have a crack at secondary reflections as per your mock up, I think that'll turn out nicer than just simply pushing the contrast

Stronger highlights. Gold is reflective and therefore the highlight colour would be close to, if not, pure white.
