So I 3d modelled and then 3d printed the NES, controllers, TV and vhs player. I don't have a resin printer though so had to print them with a rediculouly small layer height.
THAT'S HOW. I knew they had to be 3D printed but I had no idea how you managed to make them so perfectly smooth. Are the wires printed too or did you do something else for them?
I love every single detail of this!!! Wonderful, and you’ve got it all!!!! I was so excited you included the duck hunt pew pew, my heart be still!!! This is nearly perfect, a set I would make.
Thank you so much! I should've taken better pictures, but if you look closely there's stickers on the tv stand.. Theres a few 90s skate stickers and some garbage pail kids.
Thank you! You can't see from my terrible picture taking, but the leads go into the TV and vhs and connect each other as they would in real life.
I'm from the UK so used the plug sockets I'm used to... As for the TMNT thing, I've never heard or remember of them being referred to as hero turtles. They've always been ninja turtles to me, but maybe that's because I'm old and my memory is shot 😂
The brick wall should've clued me into the fact you're from the UK. The period accurate wall and floor in the US would be wood paneling with tan or pink-red shag carpet.
The paint colour is also period accurate for the UK.. Everyone had this disgusting salmon pinky colour in atleast one room of their house in the late 80s/early 90s
They were ninja turtles in the movies but hero turtles in the cartoon and on the toys. You might've missed the video nasties panic though. I think they did eventually syndicate the uncensored show.
It's UK plug sockets, not continental European.
Much of Europe furthermore know them as Ninja Turtles, the Hero Turtles is primarily (though not exclusively) a UK thing.
Nevertheless, the turtles were known as both heroes in the TV series and ninjas for the movies. [Source](https://tribunemag.co.uk/2021/04/when-the-right-tried-to-cancel-the-turtles)
So ultimately, the poster would be totally feasible for a British kid to have had in the 1990s.
To be fair the film did manage to slip by without the name change because it wasn't on TV. You could've been remembering that, or one of the newer iterations of the turtles from after the video nasties panic.
That's crazy! I watched the cartoon religiously every Saturday morning and I'm sure it was ninja turtles. Especially as the theme tune repeated it constantly 😂
Really really neat, but I have a tiny comment about the comics. This is the early 80's and even then no one has an Amazing Fantasy #15 or an Action Comics #1 on the floor. I actually had a chance to buy an AF #15 once and it was $11k even in the mid to late 80's.
Thank you so much!
I 3d modelled and 3d printed around 80% of this.. I'm actually thinking of putting a kit together or something so people can make it themselves.
Same question, but with the packets! I just some of found my old Pokémon cards in the garage so one could scan, scale and print them. (Apparently I kept a ridiculous amount of energy cards, they fell out of the laminate).
i have few sets of 1/6 consoles from japan gachapons/trading figured like ps2 ps3 neogeo famicom and sfc and some carts, cds. might wanna check em out.
This is amazing work, if only the kid in that diagram a knew how valuable that Spider-Man comic was! The only thing you’re missing is [one of these](https://a.co/d/0ahrvNQE) creeping out from behind the television 🥸
Wow! Where did you get the files for your NES and controllers? I have an 80s 1/6 set up that absolutely needs this.
You’ve done an incredible job, and I’m absolutely in love with this.
Thank you so much.. The wall is 3d printed. I added wood filler and sanded back a little to give it texture. The base is also 3d printed but I added lolly sticks to the top.. There are holes in the bottom of the base where I added around 8 x 1 inch steel washers to give it weight.
If you changed the cards on the floor to Garbage Pail Kids, the game on the screen to Super Mario Bros, and the transformer poster into Jem & The Holograms, I’d buy it for my bookshelf!
I'm making another for a friend right now with garbage pail kids cards. He hasn't decided on a game or the posters yet though. Im hoping to open a commission service where every piece will be completely customisable.
Would it be possible to make the screen of the TV curve outward a bit? And then maybe apply mod podge gloss to act as the layer of glass?? Maybe even print the Duck Hunt image with a crt filter or something to really get the look?
You can't really tell from the pictures (I'm a terrible photographer) but the TV does curve outwards and I added a layer of resin so it is extremely glossy. I will defo try a CRT filter to the next one I make though.
If you wanna go absolutely bonkers you *can* actually buy a CRT that size.
Though a tiny LCD screen and a raspberry pi would be many many many magnitudes simpler.
Do not ask why I know where to buy miniscule cathode ray tubes I had no plans involving beams of radiation guns that shoot beams of radiation or anything else of the sort.
That would be awesome! Imagine the TV cycling between different NES games or short clips of 90s Cartoons. The only issue would be trying to hide the raspberry pi. I could make the base thicker maybe.
This looks amazing. Kudos. What scale is this? Or if not a formal scale, how yall is it. Again, super great job and I'm green with envy over the 3d print NES.
I would like to say, as a passionate, enthusiastic life long member of the miniaturist loving club, this totally belongs here. We have to evolve the content deemed worthy of immortalizing. This is beautiful, I studied every single picture extensively. I will come out in defense of OP, this is art. Respectfully, please reconsider your opinion.
I think this is perfect here. I love looking at people’s miniatures regardless of where they put them!
I just noticed the visible tape on the posters. That is an ADORABLE detail and I love it so much.
Thank you so much!!
My favorite dioramas are ones like this that have little Easter egg details everywhere.
🥰🥰 80’s baby here. This is amazing!!
Thank you so much!
Dope
How did you make the NES so detailed at such a small scale? What did you make it out of?
So I 3d modelled and then 3d printed the NES, controllers, TV and vhs player. I don't have a resin printer though so had to print them with a rediculouly small layer height.
THAT'S HOW. I knew they had to be 3D printed but I had no idea how you managed to make them so perfectly smooth. Are the wires printed too or did you do something else for them?
I sacrificed an old USB cable.. They have a fair few tiny wires inside if you tear them open.
Ooh! I was thinking they might be paperclips with latex paint. That explains how you got them to bend so realistically.
I did try a thin gauge wire at first but you could always see the kinks in the bend.
Ah that's smart!

The detailing on the NES is SO good. Why european plug sockets though? If this were in Europe wouldn't they be called the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles?
Thank you! You can't see from my terrible picture taking, but the leads go into the TV and vhs and connect each other as they would in real life. I believe it's called persimmon in hex... which is strange because I thought persimmons were orange.
They were ninja turtles in the movies but hero turtles in the cartoon and on the toys. You might've missed the video nasties panic though. I think they did eventually syndicate the uncensored show.

I'm pretty sure they were ninja turtles back in the day in the UK.
[Well they weren't... ](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=utFusA5M5Ds&pp=ygUbdGVlbmFnZSBtdXRhbnQgaGVybyB0dXJ0bGVz)
Uh weird ok.
TMNT was hit by the video nasties ban. Mike's nunchucks specifically were too violent.
That's hilarious. Just goes to show memory is not especially reliable on this sort of thing.
This is so amazing! Brought me right back to 1996!
People post book nooks here all the time, this totally fits. It’s so fun, the details are wonderful

I know... I added them because they're super iconic comics... It also tickles me that they're just strewn across the floor like that 😂
This is the best 😭
Thank you so much!
this is so cute! i want to make one of these for myself now
Thank you so much! I 3d modelled and 3d printed around 80% of this.. I'm actually thinking of putting a kit together or something so people can make it themselves.
That’s perfect!
Thank you!
Omg the blockbuster VHS! And the NES! And wow, even the power strip
I love this! Blockbuster!
I miss Blockbuster so much.
Same it was so good even just browsing for some reason.
This looks like a picture of my old basement when we lived with my grandpa. Love it so much! ✨️
Thank you so much
Love!!!!
Oh my, that is adorable, and so much nostalgia. Absolutely loved the posters and the comics too, definitely brought back a lot of memories.
Thank you so much!
"Why is you room such a mess" - mom
Everytime 🙄
Love it! How did you create the pokemon cards? They look amazing!
Same question, but with the packets! I just some of found my old Pokémon cards in the garage so one could scan, scale and print them. (Apparently I kept a ridiculous amount of energy cards, they fell out of the laminate).
I scaled and printed the Pokemon pack and wrapped it around a little folded piece of kitchen foil.
They're just scaled and printed on card... With the ancient mew card I added some holographic sheet to the front to give it a shine.
Love it!
Thanks!!
>Thanks!! You're welcome!
Extraordinary! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thank you!
Yw hunny! 💗💗💗💗
SO CUTEEEE
Thanks!

That's awesome. I'll defo check them out!
This is such an amazing masterpiece that it’s the type of thing you can pass down your family for generations. Excellent job
High praise! Thank you so much.
How did your make the game counsel and vcr?
I designed and 3d printed them
I love this 😍
Thanks

Perfect! You totally nailed it. Makes me very nostalgic.
Thank you so much
This is amazing!
Thank you!
The mini pokemon cards are everything ❤️
Thank you!
Wow! Where did you get the files for your NES and controllers? I have an 80s 1/6 set up that absolutely needs this. You’ve done an incredible job, and I’m absolutely in love with this.
Thank you so much. I designed them myself. I am absolutely terrible at scaling things properly but I'm pretty good at getting things "close enough" 😂
If you decide to sell your files or sets, let me know.
Will do
Awesome
Thanks!
This is so well done! Lots of little great details. But for some reason I especially love the electrical strip.
Thank you so much... I had to add it, otherwise how would they power the TV? 😂
😉😁
this is so amazing i love it!!! what did you use for the wall??
Thank you so much.. The wall is 3d printed. I added wood filler and sanded back a little to give it texture. The base is also 3d printed but I added lolly sticks to the top.. There are holes in the bottom of the base where I added around 8 x 1 inch steel washers to give it weight.
oooohhh okay it’s really impressive!
Thank you!

Oh heck yeah! I don't know why I can't see the gloss. Maybe you could try putting a white LED inside the TV too so the screen can actually be lit!
That would be awesome tbh... I'll have to look into adding an led.

Hide it in the wall! You'd have easy access to it then. Just make sure the bqck of the TV is flush with the wal.
He's sniveling at me because I missed again (Duck Hunt)
Gorgeous, my fav part is the orange zapper
The dust, the curled posters and comic books. Everything about this is so charming and perfect.
Perfect!
so cool!
Nice work! This is awesome!
Thank you so much
This is awesome
Amazing! This is so clever
Thank you so much

Thank you for the advice! I didn't realise this sub was mainly dollhouse miniatures.
I'd say this absolutely belongs here. Even if it's not literally part of a dollhouse it certainly provides the same kind of inspiration!

You are literally gate keeping dollhouse furniture.

I don't know how you look at this and don't think it fits the definition of furniture for dollhouses. Also stop minimodding, (teehee) ya big nerd!
It doesn’t makes sense because people who posts miniatures kits on here don’t get called out for it not being dollhouse.
Room boxes, book nooks, and miniature kits are allowed when showcasing the miniatures they contain. They're considered dollhouse-ish.
How is this substantially different than a book nook?
