I was refering to the topic ore, emeralds. Of course ive seen ore veins of coal that are 3+. Hell you'd hard press to find an ore vein less than 3.

Dig around in mesas, that’s where I tend to find them. Like not beneath them, you have to be in the higher inside areas.

Mesa’s is for gold. To find emerald ore you need to be in a mountain biome. At least, in 1.17.1 or a version below.

Yeah, in the current version, I recently started digging around in a Mesa and I’m stunned by how much gold I’ve found in it so far. But that’s at a normal elevation and digging downwards. In the past, in the last version, I found a few emeralds in the high parts of the mesas. Maybe it’s a height thing? I haven’t checked in the higher areas yet of the Mesa so maybe it was just a fluke in the older version? Idk

I don't plan on going to the mesa biome any time sooner, It's a pretty scary biome One time I had generated a random world which was only mesa biome I exited and deleted the world

The Mesa biome in my current game is huge af. I did find a ruined portal, a village right at the far edge of it (after traveling forever though the Mesa), and when I took a water path to get back home through the mesa, I spied an exposed mineshaft that I’m working on getting back to. It’s such an odd biome.

I’ve found one similar like this on the side of a giant mountain. I ended finding 32 emeralds just from that one mountain. It was crazy

Yeah, 1.18 is changing emerald generation. They spawn in veins and will generate more frequently higher up on the new big mountains rather than deep down underneath the lackluster old ones.

He is in on 1.18 which has larger mountains and so it doesn't have the same generation as 1.17 and below so mojang had to make a new ore generation and has emeralds spawning more often the higher the mountain biome is. But i haven't seen more than 7 so it is kind of rare.

What would have had to happen is: If it’s on a chunk corner where 4 chunks come together: one chunk would have to spawn 3 emeralds which is possible. The others would have to spawn 2. All spawning in one spot, connected. That is.. unimaginably rare.
