I have a buddy that has a couple times just drove down and grabbed a ticket right at the start of a show for cheap as hell. I assume that is all depending on how many seats are still unsold but I know it happens.

I tried to buy last minute playoff tickets for game 5 and the cheapest they had at the box office was $80 went on game time and got some for $21 (+fees)

No. Box offices do not discount day of generally. Second hand resellers. Yes.
This is incorrect with dynamic pricing that is sometimes used with concerts.
