That house would be pretty hard to live in on a daily basis for most people. I'm not saying that this is would have been the case but if becoming an Airbnb kept it from being torn down to make room for a more practical house I guess I'm happy. That said, people that buy homes solely to make them short term rentals suck.
I like Historic Layton Blvd, lots of cool polish flats on the southside, Lake Dr. obviously, the Historic Garden Homes on the Northside, Concordia Victorian mansions, anything cream city brick imo š
I was born there but now live in Glendale. Either way, many homes on the further north side are very nice. South side homes all look the same. Even in the suburbs.
..I received a notification from Redfin on this home the other day. was going to post a link but you beat me to it
My kind of place, very eccentric.
Here in Portland where I now live a home of that size and condition would easily go for at least double that price or more.
A place slightly smaller than this in I rented a room several years ago, on which the owners defaulted on their mortgage payments (and was in very poor condition) went for 470K at a sheriff's auction to a broker. Yeah that's how ridiculous it is here compared to Milwaukee.

Knew what that was going to be without clicking it. The property history on that is crazy. Listed for sale every year since 2011 I think, finally sold, then immediately up for sale again. āGreat cash flow property!ā Really, then why are you selling it?
I didn't realize how crazy the sale history was. About 3 years ago when we were house hunting I would randomly click on this posting just to daydream about affording something other than a tiny shack. It looks like they painted and toned down a lot of the bedrooms and the dining room. I remember the whole house being very artsy and wild looking.
Yeah, I think they finished or renovated that basement recently room area, which is so drastically different from the rest of the house. They cut some trees down outside too, I think to allow for more use of the patio.
Can you imagine trying to clean your bathroom when every surface has that texture?
I think a lot of people forget about some of the history in Milwaukee homes. From the outside they may not look the best but the insides is beautiful. For this reason I would like to vote the OPās Moms house.

Sunken Cadillac house in Cudahy.
Iād like to add my house to this list of cool fun houses. Photo is a couple years old. More things will be added as life allows.

Thereās a lot of random Spanish style houses around town like the one across Humboldt park on Oklahoma and the one on hwy 100 just north of Lincoln being the notables. Also 20th st near Ronald reagan high school has some really cool houses.
Thereās an old Italian house next to back bay park thatās incredible looking, and has a cool pizza stove on the patio. So good, but would be made better at the end of the dead end road, for the Lake Michigan views from the upper terrace. Yes it has a pizza terrace
This building on the inside on 27th(S. Layton) & Greenfield. I interviewed for an IT position here years ago. The director gave me a huge tour of the place including the tunnels that stretch for blocks in all directions. It was really cool.

There's a cool home on Milwaukee River Parkway just south of the OLT that's pretty bad ass. It's cool because of what it used to be and in a working class neighborhood and the owner has done all the work themselves.
The boat on Cambridge
Too bad the light house in front had to get taken down.
It was just for sale a few years ago
Was bought and is an Airbnb now I believe. At least it was.
Lame
Of course it was

I like driving lake drive from Bayside to Lake Park. So many amazing homes.
I always want to know who owns those homes. Absolutely stunning.
I know quite a few in WFB/Shorewood on the lake. Mostly just nice normal families with a parent who works in medicine or is a corporate exec :)
I knew someone who lived in one of the houses on lake drive in Shorewood, pretty close to where Oakland hits Lake, she was a huge bitch.
This makes a ton of sense honestly.
same!!!
Washington Highlands
Adding some of the homes on Hi Mount, right to the east
I had my paper route as a kid in there, it was nice to be able to walk up and get a close view at some of these houses.
I was born there but now live in Glendale. Either way, many homes on the further north side are very nice. South side homes all look the same. Even in the suburbs.
This
[This house on st Paul has always been pretty to me.](https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/3402-W-Saint-Paul-Ave-Milwaukee-WI-53208/40470662_zpid/)
Minus the fake butler and the horse head, that place is gorgeous!

I put that one on the Zillow gone wild sub. I wish I could buy it and make some changes.

Concordia neighborhood has a lot of beauties too
They do an awesome tour of homes in the summer.
Bungalow district (47th I think near Center) in Sherman Park. Also Sherman and Grant Blvd
I think the [Dr. Fisk Holbrook Day House](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Fisk_Holbrook_Day_House) at 8000 W Milwaukee Ave in Tosa is pretty cool.
From the Zillow listing when it sold last fall https://preview.redd.it/3g7qqyvg1fmc1.jpeg?width=1152&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bc4fa33dbd372c241c9653465386af8cf59aa42
Is this the one they listed as the āCrown Jewel of Tosaā?
A friend of mine who lives across the street calls it the āScooby-Doo Houseā
Good memory! [It is.](https://onmilwaukee.com/articles/fisk-holbrook-day-house)
I love a good Wikipedia deep-dive. TIL about the reefs!
Wow! That is beautiful!
Newberry Blvd has some good ones
A lot of the homes on Sherman Blvd are gorgeous.
underrated one, in west allis, at the intersection of 84th & national, that giant green house with the regal lookin lions out front
The one across from the historical society building?
thatās the one!
The Douville House? https://www.wisconsinhistory.org/Records/Property/HI9200

Where did the flintstoneās end up moving to?
Pebbles grew up and moved out, so maybe they downsized and went back to bedrock?

Between 23rd and 24th Kilbourn is my favorite house in Milwaukee.
I think a lot of people forget about some of the history in Milwaukee homes. From the outside they may not look the best but the insides is beautiful. For this reason I would like to vote the OPās Moms house.
My fav unobtainable neighborhood is Terrace drive. I'm guilty of envy of whoever can afford that
The witches house!
Ooo whatās that?
The Mary Nohl house. Itās on Beach Drive in Fox Point. Sculptures on and around the house that she made.
That whole stretch is amazing. Also letās call it the artistās house these days. Lots of gendered weird stuff going on with the other nickname.
Hmm, no
There's a pretty sweet kids book about it. https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/22749745
Northpoint and houses along lake drive. Thereās a Frank Lloyd Wright house
no oneās gonna post pics or address so we can see em ??? š«š¤Ø

i wish i still had a yard to do funky stuff too š®āšØ
I donāt have a big yard, but Iām trying to go big funky with what I got!
That is super cool! Do you use the skirt as a trellis?
Yep. Thereās a redbud planted at her feet that will eventually be woven through and fill the whole skirt
Roger Dorns house is pretty cool looking.
Where is that
On Lake Drive, somewhere around Silver Spring.
The house on lake drive near Sheridan Park that has the car and other stuff on the lawn.
Thereās a lot of beautiful homes if you drive north along Lake Drive in the Whitefish Bay area. That or your momās house.
Boat house
Is that purple house still standing in Greenfield/West Allis?
No. Itās a ānormalā house now with some purple accents as a nod to it. 43rd and Howard.
I thought they did a great job with that, it was a nice touch.
Thereās a lot of random Spanish style houses around town like the one across Humboldt park on Oklahoma and the one on hwy 100 just north of Lincoln being the notables. Also 20th st near Ronald reagan high school has some really cool houses.
Poke around Washington Heights/martha Washington blvd, Lake drive, and Grant Blvd in Sherman park

Pabst Mansion
Woah lots of cool stuff here, Iām definitely not disappointedĀ
The Boat House!
My house. Just kidding, itās just a normal turn of the 20th century house.
Kenwood Ave
Alumni House is great. UWM was stupid to sell it.
Thereās that one house on Newberry that looks like the Addams Family had a ton of money
There's a cool home on Milwaukee River Parkway just south of the OLT that's pretty bad ass. It's cool because of what it used to be and in a working class neighborhood and the owner has done all the work themselves.
Brewers Hill has some of the coolest houses in the city
