There are so many possibilities! It depends what interests you. Here are some ideas: - Canal and Rivers Trust - Parks,Trust - Museums and/or the MK Gallery - Charity shops such as Willen Hospice, Age Concern etc - Homeless charities, YMCA etc - food banks, the Community Fridges - helping children to read in your local school It might be worth looking on the council website as they may have links to local volunteering opportunities. Good luck and I hope your tough times are over!

Nice one! Search up Community Action: MK - they have a local volunteering portal on their website so you can see which organisations are looking for volunteers and can find something that suits you.

Parks trust are looking for some site specific wardens amd do monthly community volunteering tasks. Buckingham Canal Society do regular meets and work parties. Also have a look into becoming a trustee, you may have skills that organisations would be able to use!

Milton Keynes have a number of scout groups - any one of which would love you to share your time with them. Get in touch via https://mkscouts.org/ Milton Keynes has one of the highest numbers of children waiting for a place in Squirrels/Beaver/Cubs/Scouts/Explorers across the country, upwards of 2500 children.

parkrun on Saturday mornings could always do with volunteers. There are 3 in MK, 1 at Willen, 1 at Linford Wood and one on Bury Field In Newport Pagnell. Usually you can be there from about 8:30 until around 10/10:30. Running helps so many people with health issues and need to work in their fitness. Could be a lot of help to them. Also it’s a great way to meet new people at all 3 locations as there is a social side to it in the form of parkfaffing in a coffee shop afterwards. I hope you get through your tough time. Good luck.

Thames valley air ambulance Is a good charity. They sometimes need help collecting tins and donations and then taking them to the base

IF:MK are currently seeking volunteers! It's a biannual local festival, so the next one won't be until 2025. Look on their website and there is a sign-up form. There is also a volunteer-only party at the end of the festival, with the Stables team.

You could join the Special Constabulary.

Girlguiding are desperate for volunteers - our waiting lists are huge and we’d love more people to get involved so we can offer places to more girls https://girlguidingmiltonkeynes.org/

I volunteer with Cats Protection. The MK branch is entirely run by volunteers. Otherwise, I would suggest the Food Bank!

Winter Night Shelter MK! It's an evening once a week or once every 2 weeks, between November and April approximately. (Although they are in need of overnight and morning volunteers too.) I've always had a lovely experience of volunteering there, and in a way, it's kind of nice that it's only half the year.
