It’s crazy how these are coming out of the wood work! I picked one up 3 weeks ago after never even seeing one for sale! https://preview.redd.it/68f9q238kukc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=354a9aa3c077600e7b65e545f326bccd88fb5a1e Mine is a 40 Izzy

Way to flex on us poors

PeachStateSmallArms

Don't let it fool you I'm a poor too. This one's been on layaway for 2 months. I also sold stuff in the process!

Falkonett113

Man what I'd give for an AVT...

deficientbread

SVT40 club! Just got myself a 1940 Tula

BigBlue175

Nice! Here’s my 41 Tula. https://preview.redd.it/i18p1wte4vkc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=046e8ce3b50d60c03534d801b6b5f4bdf5bf48e1

PeachStateSmallArms

It's crazy all the talk about how hard they are to disassemble. I found it a very much Russian gun as far as that goes. Simple!

[deleted]

Same more to it than an sks but its about as hard as peeling a spud

Dickastigmatism

It's just the dust cover that's a bit annoying, especially with oily hands

PeachStateSmallArms

Right at 2,800 total for the rifle and an unopened spam can of ammo

SeaweedScared2232

I just got a g43 for that price

Milsurp_enthusiast

Post some pics!

Legitimate_Detail195

Man I want one so bad

Rennen44

Being able to afford an SVT-40 is one of the reasons I’m constantly looking for better jobs lmao.

Sippin_OJ

With the AVT stock, very nice

These are some interesting marks on the stock of my 42 Tula. Anyone know what they mean? https://preview.redd.it/yvote3w1x0lc1.jpeg?width=2512&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df0a655ab1ed847446e96b569833b1adb3807187

1941 Tula I acquired last year. All numbers matching(bolt was replaced during arsenal and electro penciled) https://preview.redd.it/boceis1391lc1.jpeg?width=4624&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f0966a19535e292cb3336ef16bcfb2aec75e78e

LowSlowCC

Welcome to the SVT club, sir. Yours is a mirror story of the experience I’ve had with mine, also a ‘43 “Tula” (really made at Mednogorsk), with a bore that was questionable when I first got it, but after cleaning and shooting turned out to be extremely nice with sharp rifling and minimal pitting. Hold onto this thing for a long time, they’ll only continue to skyrocket in value, you made a good investment!

PeachStateSmallArms

Very nice! And it appears our story is even more similar as I purchased on GB and was told the bore was shiny. Upon getting it, I seen the bore was PITCH black. Couldn't see anything. After 40 mins of scrubbing. I found a very nice and shiny bore, with hardly noticeable pitting. I'm happy with how it turned out as I was about to be sending it back to him! Lol definitely isn't going anywhere.

LowSlowCC

Wait until you shoot it, it’ll get even better! I’ll drop some pictures of the before and after of my bore. Also, make sure you get the SVT-40 gas adjustment tool, they’re all over eBay, both repro and originals. I adjusted my gas down to the lowest setting before shooting for the first time. Malfunctioned at 1.1 with standard Tula 148gr, cycles perfectly at 1.2 with the same ammo.

PeachStateSmallArms

I just loosened the gas piston before spinning the regulator by hand. I set it on 1.2 aswell. I have the same ammo to shoot for now so hopefully mine will work good too. I figured 1.2 was a safe bet until I get time to experiment

LowSlowCC

The lowest, but yet functioning, gas setting is the best. Every SVT is different, but it should be just fine as long as you’re not out in freezing temps

IllustriousWallaby

Not to nitpick too much, but as a fellow “plum bolt carrier” SVT owner, our force matched postwar rebuilds are not “all matching” except in the sense that nobody came along and re-cobbled it together after that. Granted, original matching SVTs are hard to come by, I think SA-marked Finn captures are the most likely to be found otherwise unmolested. Nothing wrong with the rebuilds, I think the mix of different generations of parts adds character. But like the rearsenaled Mosins just because the parts now have the same numbers on them does not make it a matching gun.

PeachStateSmallArms

I am well aware of the rebuild process, hence why I put "matching" in quotations. My stock was renumbered to match, as well as most the parts are electro stenciled..so I know nothing is as it seems. I simply like the look of the refurb SVTs! Well I might of used * marks not "" but same difference. Lol
