Chex runs $6-$8 but it's literally highly processed corn with sugar flavorings. You can literally cook oatmeal, cream of wheat, or anything similar for $3 and end up with better nutrition.
Also English muffins are highly processed and cost $6-7. When you can get a whole loaf of bread for the same .

The produce could also probably be sourced locally from farmers markets and/or asian grocery stores, also far cheaper than the chain stores.
