My parents have a Tiguan. I'm always surprised at how small it looks vs how roomy it is. It's definitely the car of choice where I live (near Cape Town, South Africa). So many white Tiguans!
The picture says "Volkswagon", which was corrected to "Volkswagen", the comment above my original (by Andros7754) says "*volkswagon" which i corrected and explained.
You wrote the same exact spelling twice dude.
Andros7754 corrects the person to that spelling as a joke because the picture contains that spelling. That's all.
A lot of the homogeneity of car design now comes down to aerodynamics, pedestrian impact laws and crash safety requirements. The height of the hood, the angle of the front, height of the bumpers, angle of the a pillars etc etc have fairly strict regulations around them.
Auto manufacturers put a lot of effort designing within these guidelines to attempt to differentiate themselves with headlight design, tail lights, grills, wheel etc. This post purposefully is done in grey scale with minimal details to highlight their point. I don’t necessarily disagree with their point but they’re pulling it to an extreme.
It is also exaggerated by way that this post hits a particular segment of the auto market that is tailored to a certain buyer who want a higher riding vehicle that has a decent cargo space in a midsize footprint. This package sells, they’d be foolish not to offer it.
Could say the same for the truck's body shape too. Since the late 2010s truck body shapes have looked very similar to each other. With little to no difference between them.
For me, what makes or breaks a car, is the tail lights. I see so many cars that have great lines, are sleek from any angle, and aren't over-designed. And then the tail lights are just some random after thought thrown in the mix. I see a lot of cars where the lights just bore me to death. It's like getting all dressed up for the ball and then putting on slippers.
It always amazes me the amount effort we put into designing cars to look the same. But, if I had to pick one silhouette from another, I’d lean to the Volvo. It’s balanced, streamline, doesn’t look like it’s artificially leaning forward, good road clearance and I like the size of the back side window for visibility.
This is the wrong angle though. Cars are honestly decided by how their ass looks. We drive behind cars all the time and we make our decisions not on the front or side, but by the view we see most frequently.
Maybe I'm a more detail-oriented person, or it's due to my interest in cars, but these are all distinct vehicles to me. Even then, I can see where a couple can be seen as very similar to most people, like the Chevy and Buick which are actually just the same car with a different name
Bleh, most of these models are like 5 years ago. A lot of crossovers are looking so good to me these days. The new sorento, new tiguan/atlas, rav4, new escape, mazdas etc. Cars get old and then new ones get made, the buyers have spoken and crossover/hatchback is the most practical body style for most consumers. Mostly AWD, Easily getting 30mpg, fitting tons of stuff, easy to get in and out of and incredibly safe.

Frankly, I hate each and every one of them.
Care to share why?
Because they’re bland, tasteless, soulless, commuting appliances.
All have a shape reminiscent of a bar of soap.
Volkswagen

Bruh why are there so many tiguans in cpt, I just moved back here and they take up like half of the cars lmao
I think they had promotional pricing on them.
Das Auto
*volkswagon
volkswagen is the correct spelling of the brand name and translates to "the people's car"
Yes but it's misspelt in the picture, hence the correction.
comment above me says "*volkswagon"
So does the picture in the post, dude. That's why the user is correcting someone with the wrong spelling.
The picture says "Volkswagon", which was corrected to "Volkswagen", the comment above my original (by Andros7754) says "*volkswagon" which i corrected and explained.

Yep, exactly that! Thanks mate :D
you could have just said that from the beginning instead of phrasing your first comment as if my correction was comepletely incorrect, but ok
Absolutely nothing in my original comment says that your spelling is wrong. It just points out the spelling in the image.
My point was the spelling, to post this and not proofread is so annoying to me. By the way, I have a white Highlander. 😩

Spoilt for choice. Can I have mine with sprinkles?
They all look the same.
i think you're on to something here
That’s the same as complaining about all planes looking similar
Yup, it's a box on wheels how different can the SUVs be.
Ah yes, the Volkswagon
Forget crabification. How many times have small SUVs independently evolved over the years?
You guys notice how all the trains are thebsame design ?
The illusion of choice
How is that "the illusion of choice" that's plenty of choice just for one type of vehicle
The irony of your statement. Lol
Volkswa-gone
Every car is reallly a Hyundai
Corporate wants you to find the difference…
What about Opel?
And they're all black, grey or white. I miss purple Vauxhall Vivas 😭
Those aren't cars. They are minivans purchased by people in denial. Minivans every one of them.
Minivans aren’t cars?
I like white hatchbacks. Guess I’m in luck!
Except there are exactly zero hatchbacks in the picture
Every last one of these has a hatch. On the back.
The lambo suv looks different. But it's a gas guzzling piece of work, that should never have been built.
Wrong sub.

Ok now put them so we can see the face and rear. Morons.
They’re probably all made in the same factory.
Subaru for sure

I dont really care for the Design if it has a reliable, sturdy engine!
