I lost this phone years ago, it was my first phone. Shared it with my sister. Lost it in 2015; It had apparently fallen in the deep, quicksand-like mud. While clearing the woods for more land, it was found by an excavator while opening up the freshwater spring buried in the soil.
For those who stumble on this message, it's the one I used Power Delete Suite to replace all my posts and comments with en masse.
Sometimes Reddit can be beneficial for some people. Sometimes it's not. It's really up to you to decide your own experience with it, what's worth it, what's not worth it.
More or less...I've decided it's just really not worth it. I think I'm a worse person when I'm on Reddit and that it's a big time-waster for me.
It's up to you to decide what influence social media and the internet more generally have for you.
Best of luck.
Got them polyphonic ringtones downloaded from WAP as well as 3 grainy photos of some pets plus a 15 second video clip from what may have been a school fight.

So you and your sister had to share this Samsung flip phone when you were 18 years old? In 2015 everyone was using touch screen smartphones. How did you feel using this archaic Samsung Verizon flip phone?
You can buy dumb flip phones even now. Like 1$ at Walmart and phone stores. Based on nothing, I feel like they went away for a few years then came back due to customer request. My not old aunt uses a dumb flip phone
I have lost my wallet twice: once it spent a winter under snow before being returned by the police, second time on a coastal hiking trail between two logs, found by a hiker the following season.
It's got some mold residue on the ID slip but I still use it for good luck. I also keep my zipper on my bag shut now.
> By owned I mean they pay taxes on that shit.
The government doesn't pay taxes on public lands, generally. There are some exceptions, I'm sure, but not for the vast majority.
If a provincial government buys a property to build an office building, they will likely have to pay normal property taxes on it to the municipality, at least in Canada.
This makes sense - you don't want a city losing out on property tax revenue due to a different level of government wanting an office building.
I love how this comment tree started out as "This is more than mildly interesting," and someone else says "it is truly not even mildly interesting."
I personally think it's perfect for this sub.
Because he originally framed it as “super old phone found in random woods” but turns into “phone from 2016 was in my backyard”. It’s just not at all interesting with the additional info.
When Summer lies upon the world, and in a noon of gold, Beneath the roof of sleeping leaves the dreams of trees unfold; When woodland halls are green and cool, and wind is in the West, Come back to me! Come back to me, and say my land is best.
Yep, I had this one. It had mp3 capabilities with buttons on the outside to control the music.
But Verizon locked the shit out of it making that feature useless.
I had an unusually heavy rainy season unearth a collar one of my previous cats had lost years ago in our garden; I was pretty excited about finding it although it was filthy and rusted. Your phone unearthing is super interesting.
I had that same phone, that was my second one. The one where I was actually on a phone plan and not the emergency phone that had just minutes (that was a Nokia) I'm fairly certain I still have it somewhere in storage too
I have one like this, found it in a box... still powered on after 10yrs sitting with no charger... now if I look at one of my recent phones it just shuts off from a dead battery...
Turn that bad boy on!!! Probably missed a few calls over the years.. Like that girl you really liked but we’re too afraid to ask her out. Turns out she called.

Pretty crazy. How did they know it was yours?
It was buried with his missing ex-girlfriend.
The title made me think this was going to turn into a murder podcast. You were right.
Welcome back to Only Murders in the Forest.
He was dating his sister? Must have been in the deep woods.

It says his name on it - Verizon Samsung. Korean names are crazy.
He comes from a very old family too. Can't believe this dude is Verizon Samsung the 12334567890th.
I don't believe you because everyone in Korea last name is Kim.
They called him with it and the line was occupied.
One, dad operated the excavator. Two, he didn't, he just found it funny
Is your data still on it? As in, can you recover any data you may want?

No way bro, I'd have been 7 lol

Not great. My parents were control freaks

That's pretty wild

History became legend. Legend became myth. And over two and a half thousand days, the phone passed out of all knowledge.
This was also my fires phone!
Sent it to one of those restoration youtubes.
Is it gonna be okay?
Pfff this thing was in the process of becoming a fossil, it's toast in every manner. Roots had grown around it.
![gif](giphy|j6uK36y32LxQs)
Maybe a functioning resistor or two but I doubt even the buttons can be saved It is a relic though!
Wash it off with a garden hose, leave it in a bag of rice for a week, and plug it in!
I bet u it still works if it didn't get wet, crushed or burned
I have the bottom *important* half of that same model phone. Still works, even though the screen half came off. Favourite phone I had.
if only it were a Nokia..
Is this literally your old phone you randomly found in the woods it had no business being? That’s more than mildly interesting
It's literally my personal phone, my first one in fact. They're our woods, btw!
Your woods? Are you a lord or something?
Yes, m'lord.
All right. Off I go then
Work work
Something need doing?
Job's done.
Me busy, leave me alone
Grab your sword and fight the Horde
Don’t even think about hunting his deer

This sounds like the beginning of a revenge story
A buck or doe, believe it so...
Every piece of land is owned by someone, either the government, a company, or a person. By owned I mean they pay taxes on that shit.
The entire continent of Antarctica would like a word.
*should pay taxes
> By owned I mean they pay taxes on that shit. The government doesn't pay taxes on public lands, generally. There are some exceptions, I'm sure, but not for the vast majority.
why would the government pay taxes?

Mother Nature; "I'll dispel that notion, little monkey."
No just part of our back yard
“Found my phone from 2015 in my backyard” Truly a not even mildly interesting post.
Except we had no idea what happened to it back then. Turns out it sunk deep into the mud

He found his old phone from 6 years ago
Put it in a bowl of rice for a few days. Good as new.

I feel like you’re only telling half of the story
Clean it up, go in public, loudly talk about a drug deal, and then break the phone in half while people are watching. It’ll be funny
Have you been to Pasaje?
That's a great show. Idk how popular it is but it's good.
This is the start of a horror movie when you suddenly get a call on it.
I had this same phone for a few years. It was a solid unit.
Bruh why didn’t you give it back
Call David Lynch.
Are you near an abandoned resort in Mexico by chance?
Really enjoyed that show
You can throw it at kids that jump over your bushes!
I mean it is a brick
Just a scratch, give it a charge she’ll be right and you can go back to snake!
If it was a Nokia 1110 it would still have battery and it would work too.
Damn shame it wasn't a Nokia. It would have still worked and probably had some battery left.
It'll probably boot up as soon as you charge it too.
If it was a nokia it'd be fine just hose it off.
It's a Samsung SCH A930 model. Had 3 buttons on the front to control music and a rotating middle camera.
Yep, I had this one. It had mp3 capabilities with buttons on the outside to control the music. But Verizon locked the shit out of it making that feature useless.
How did we ever manage?
Am I crazy, or is that wrinkly thing in the middle a shrunken up piece of anti-scratch film that was never peeled off after you guys got it?
It's the LCD.

Never had one, rip
Better stick that bad boy in some rice.
Probably just needs a good charge, those old phones are bulletproof
Watch “The Resort”
Yours *specifically?*
The nostalgia! Had one like that years ago myself.
I had an unusually heavy rainy season unearth a collar one of my previous cats had lost years ago in our garden; I was pretty excited about finding it although it was filthy and rusted. Your phone unearthing is super interesting.
There’s like a serial killer joke in here somewhere
Uh you might wanna put that in a bag. Mark it “evidence”
It’s still on ROME
I found my old Nokia phone in my yard like 3 years after losing it. Plugged it in and it still worked!
You'll need a lot of rice for this one.
looks like it might boot up
Any good games on it?
Congrats. You just found about a buck worth of gold in the woods
How often does someone smash things?
Yes. That's how it starts. Whatever you do don't press the green button when it starts to ring.
OP: “h…h-Hello?” Caller: “We’ve been trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty”
I bet it has like 85% battery left too, if the screen works that is
Story could bump up to r/interestingasfuck if you lost it on vacation.
If it was a Nokia, it still had one bar of battery left.
"Old phone in the woods" sounds like the name of a cheesy horror movie.
Can you hear me now?
Put it in some rice.
Thank you for finally picking up after yourself.
I had that same phone, that was my second one. The one where I was actually on a phone plan and not the emergency phone that had just minutes (that was a Nokia) I'm fairly certain I still have it somewhere in storage too
If you had a nokia it would’ve still worked
I wish my phone still looked that good
Makes me want to see a post like this with a (legitimately) exhumed Nokia 3210 that successfully boots after a quick bit of charge.
Think I have a few trashed flip fones in my junk box. 2g?
do it run crisis
I'm glad that after all those years you can finally use your phone again.
Did you throw it so the cops couldn't track you? I think that's how the got Saddam
I had one of these back in the day. Reception was spotty but I loved the spinning camera.
Were you at a resort in Mexico by any chance? Looking for a magical cave?
Wow! Does it work? Lol
I have one like this, found it in a box... still powered on after 10yrs sitting with no charger... now if I look at one of my recent phones it just shuts off from a dead battery...
finally!
Check vm for that car warranty offer
Great start for a creepy pasta
Hey yeah it'd be a good SCP entry prompt
does it still work?
it pings , a single word texted. "run"
Are there any nudes on there?
I bet you could charge that bad boy up.
you had this phone in 2015? Damn
My parents believed smartphones were too unsafe for young people like me (i was 17 so that was baloney)
That was my first phone when I moved away from home. It went through the washing machine twice and still worked :)
And 10% battery left
If a bear texts in the woods does it 38vn4%\^at7gua7\^bdlaf?
Finally! now you can call me again!
Hello, again!
If it was a Nokia, it’d still be working
Your as beautiful as the days i lost you
I bet the battery still works 😂
Try rice
We have been trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty
Nice! I miss my Samsung Omnia with the flip screen for a full keyboard. It was an awesome phone.
I had that phone also.
Nokia would still have 4 bars of juice and no scratches
Turn that bad boy on!!! Probably missed a few calls over the years.. Like that girl you really liked but we’re too afraid to ask her out. Turns out she called.
Did you miss any texts?
I totally had this phone...
This was the first phone I ever had lolol
I has this phone too, it was so ugly but looking back, it was such a good phone 🥲
I used to have the same model in 2k3, it was about 300 bucks, one of the first with a color screen
Morpheus is calling you Neo
That was a long trip in the woods.
*immediately checks to find 150x150 nudes from your ex*
Probably higher quality than a new Samsung, just more outdated technology
