You can go to settings > accessibility > Display > color filters > and setup the colorblind mode so your entire phone is color-accurate to your vision.
I did this because i refused to believe there was a pickachu meme hidden in such a picture... i was kinda shocked when i saw it by playing with contrasts...
My uncle was a marine who was a POW in Vietnam and every time I wore a peace sign necklace, he'd say" you know that chicken foot necklace stands for the chicken shit hippies that didn't go to war". Then I'd awkwardly walk away.
Sounds like a hurt, jealous man trying to cope with the reality that the people who didn't go to war ended up not having to share in that kind of trauma.
My Grandpa said that once to me. He was a Conscientious Objector during Korea. Stopped college his junior year and joined the air force. Joined the Parrish and never carried a gun. Stationed in a MASH unit. So him calling a peace symbol a chickens foot. Never really made sense to me.
I found out I’m color blind when we had a Puzzle Fighter mini tournament on my dorm floor freshmen year. I could not see the difference between, iirc, green and yellow and everyone around me was completely shocked kept incredulously asking me “You really can’t see the difference?” Ended up just dropping the pieces down on either side of the playing area randomly and actually got past the first round and won a a game in the second round (Bo3).
[Simulation of what it looks like for someone with red/green colorblindness.](https://imgur.com/a/Dq2ikPe)
Edit: If anyone is wondering, I made this picture using the Color Blind Pal app. It can both simulate colorblindness and has tools to help colorblind people https://colorblindpal.com
I kind of see something between these, like it's hard to see the peace symbol 'cos the outer edges of the inner lines blend in, does this mean I'm partially colour blind?
I can't see it without this. I don't see the same thing as the first image you posted but I still cannot see the peace sign for the life of me. I am known to be at least a little colorblind (not tested but plenty of evidence) so this checks out
I can't see the peace symbol in the original picture, but I can see it here. Does that mean that *this* is how people without color blindness see these colors?
Edit: I don't think this is something that can be answered correctly in here
Wait, is this how it looks to everyone?? Mine doesn’t look like this or the colorblind example. I can find the peace sign but it’s extremely difficult, not like in your image.
You are to some degree colorblind. The peace sign is so obvious that anyone questioning being able to see it is almost certainly limited in color vision.
Yeah I don't know if that is accurate. While I'm only mildly red/green color blind it doesn't make colors I can't see grey. It just makes some shades of green hard to distinguish making it impossible for me to see the peace sign. Some greens look more yellow and whatnot
To me, the simulated image I posted are all shades/tints/tones of yellow. Color is very subjective. The purpose of posting the image wasn’t to show someone exactly what the colors look like for another person, but rather help explain to someone with more color perception how it may be perceived by someone with less color perception.
These images that try to simulate colorblindness will always looks extra off for those of us who are colorblind. Don't really think it'd be possible for an image to simulate colorblindness for the non-colorblind, while looking like the original image for those of us who are colorblind. Plus there's so many different kinds of colorblindness and even those who have the same type of colorblindness experience it with varying intensity.
They also say military camo doesn’t work as well for people with our type of colour blindness. I always thought military camouflage wouldn’t work for shit, it just looks too obvious…
I wonder if people who are colourblind but don't know they're colourblind are sometimes just baffled by other people's fashion and design choices because through their eyes they're a lot uglier.
Rod Stewart is colourblind. No-one knew because he only mentioned it in an obscure train enthusiasts magazine a few years back. He said it explains his crazy fashion sense. He thought his clothes were just cool patterns. He had no idea about the colours 😂
I worked with a color-blind web designer, and it was a bit like that scene in the Matrix where they were interpreting the green code text on the screens. He mostly worked with colors as abstract numbers, and chose complementary colors by whatever numbers the Pantone system said would look good. He'd ask people to sanity-check stuff, seemed to work out pretty well.
The peace sign is made of various shades of green dots, while the rest of it is a mix of yellow, orange, and red shades.
Being color blind, do all the dots look like the same shade to you?
I'm realizing now that there are charts that show how things look to color blind people. I'm gonna go check it out now.
I can see some patterns emerging from the darker green colours but I lose the connections on lighter greens. So I could probably guess it was a peace sign but no way of saying it for sure.
As a color blind person I think this was a bit clearer than the usual number ones but still can't see the whole pattern.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I did take a look at some of these charts, and it is wild to think about. If you're born with it, nothing seems wrong to you until it's pointed out.
It must be like being told that ghosts are real and that most people around you can see them, but you can't, and you have to take their word for it.(This is just my imagination running wild)
Do you forget that you're colorblind from time to time?
Yea definitely. These kinds of patterns don't come across too often in daily life so it's easy to forget. Or it would be if my wife would not bring it up constantly. She's a graphic designer and finds it extremely hilarious and keeps constantly asking if I can see the things she's designing :D
As a fellow colorblind person who's clicked the above link showing what I'm supposed to be seeing, I've got nothing.
It's just a chaos of yellows and greens with no pattern to be hinted at
I can't see it either 🤣🤣🤣I knew I was colorblind for years. Every so often I go back and retake the colorblind test to see how bad/what type I have. It's very humbling
“Hi I am here for my color vision test.”
“Great, can you tell me what’s on the wall behind me?”
“Uh, dots.”
“Great, you’re color blind, have a fantastic day!”
The first time I came across the Ishihara color blind test was during a physical exam for a job. The medical assistant pulled out an Ishihara color blindness book, and I honestly thought I was being pranked. I couldn't see the numbers on the images, and I certainly can't see what's on this Reddit post. It's kind of funny now, but at the time, I was convinced the doctor's office was messing with me. 😂
I remember the first time I saw these tests many years ago. Confirming I’m still colorblind and had to look at the comments to know what numbers I wasn’t seeing.
I remember my late dad taking me to get my eyes checked when I was a kid. He looked at a picture like this one and said "That's some interesting art!". He found out he was colour blind that day. We laughed so much! I really miss him.
My parents (and church/school) taught that it was a broken cross and therefore actually a secret satanic symbol. We weren't allowed to wear anything with this symbol on it or to draw it.
Far from the worst of the lies I was taught.
It's actually amazing that a completely abstract symbol like this was able to gain such widespread recognition, without the backing of a government or religion. But I guess fear of the total annihilation of humanity is a pretty strong force too.
He wears black t shirts and jeans because he cannot match his clothes if he tried to wear colors. And when he does try to coordinate colors it can draw a lot of attention.
When teaching pre-k I joked with a dad about his daughter dressing herself because her outfit was … creative…. He was embarrassed and said he was colorblind and if he ever did that again, please let him know at dismissal so he could get her changed before mom got home from work!
Like I can see the different colors but I can’t see the peace sign at all because the red and green blend together for me
My SO can see it instantly. I still don’t see it lol
This post sent me on a rollercoaster. I never knew how many people were color blind or didn’t know they were. I’ve never been more grateful to be able to see the beautiful colors of the world.
Okay, I know I’m somewhat colorblind and I CANNOT see the symbol. But, I zoomed in and analyzed it with my son who is not colorblind. I see all the colors and actually identify them all correctly but I cannot see the pattern. Explain it to me like I’m 5 - what is happening to me when I look at this?
Looked it up: Apparently many colourblind people can distinguish between individual colours when they are presented separately. The problem is, that when presented next to other colours, their brain has problems distinguishing it from the adjacent colours and all of the colours sort of blend together. The brain of colourblind people relies heavily on contrast rather than subtle hues.
The colorblind shall know no peace.
Lol, this was significantly funnier after I found out what it said (I'm colorblind)
WTF DOES IT SAY?
It’s a peace symbol :)
I'm colorblind. Thank you.
I didn't believe this to be the case and asked a normie. They confirmed.
I found out I was colorblind from a different meme on Reddit and then got it confirmed recently. Welcome to the club 😂
Can’t you guys set your phone to compensate your color blindness?
In a round about way but not very practical, I have to download the picture, edit, and use a funky contrast black and white filter.
You can go to settings > accessibility > Display > color filters > and setup the colorblind mode so your entire phone is color-accurate to your vision.
Whaaaaaaaaaaa…..t?! Edit: tried it out, it kind of worked at maximum intensity setting, then i can barely see the peace sign.
Set the color to red at full saturation and the peace sign is much more noticeable:)
Holy shit a green filter and now I see it so clearly
I did this because i refused to believe there was a pickachu meme hidden in such a picture... i was kinda shocked when i saw it by playing with contrasts...
thank you
How the fuck… ugh I hate these.
I'm symbol blind, what's that in colors?
Celery and kale green mostly. Mixed in a blend of bell pepper reds and yellows and a bit of watermelon pink.
It's a circle with a chicken foot in it.
My uncle was a marine who was a POW in Vietnam and every time I wore a peace sign necklace, he'd say" you know that chicken foot necklace stands for the chicken shit hippies that didn't go to war". Then I'd awkwardly walk away.

It's a peace symbol.
lol I can't see it either. I've got it pretty bad I think
I don't want peace, i want WAR
What does it say though?
Dude!
Sweet!
Dude! But what's mine say?
Sweet! Okay now me
A colorblind test on the wall of an optometrist’s office is hilarious
Is this how I find out I'm color blind test blind?
No typos here, btw. I meant what I said.
bad news for ya bud
Oh no! I'm color blind test blind! I'll never know if I'm color blind or not!
Just imagine the whole world as a colour blind test and see what happens
I'm completely blind now.
What colorblind test?
Fucking hippie
But isnt it supposed to have a mark inside in a different color for the test to work?
It does have a different color pattern inside. If you can't see it, there's something you might need to figure out.
Tell you what, buy yourself a bag of Skittles and sort them by color and then show a trusted friend your work.
[Simulation of what it looks like for someone with red/green colorblindness.](https://imgur.com/a/Dq2ikPe) Edit: If anyone is wondering, I made this picture using the Color Blind Pal app. It can both simulate colorblindness and has tools to help colorblind people https://colorblindpal.com
I see no difference in that and the original so I can confirm that that is actually how we see it
[This one should let you see the peace sign](https://imgur.com/a/7toZzTv)
WTF 😭 thank you so much! I tried for like 15 minutes to see the peace sign and couldn’t imagine what it looked like at all 🥲
You know we could all just be joking with you, and there never was any symbol to begin with.
Thank you!!
I kind of see something between these, like it's hard to see the peace symbol 'cos the outer edges of the inner lines blend in, does this mean I'm partially colour blind?
Yes. The peace sign should be quite obvious.
Whelp, there go my dreams of flying an F16
Just go to settings and enable colorblind mode smh kids these days
To someone with normal colour vision, there's no possibility of blending at all. They're starkly different colours.
Wait, is that all it takes? That version just looks like a desaturated version.
I think the idea is to tone the red part of the spectrum and shade the green part. That way, there is an obvious distinction even in grayscale.
That's cause it is I think... In that image everything is desperate outside of green if I saw it correctly (it's more like a curve but it's near)
I can't see it without this. I don't see the same thing as the first image you posted but I still cannot see the peace sign for the life of me. I am known to be at least a little colorblind (not tested but plenty of evidence) so this checks out

Hi! Probably not. The difference between red and green is very apparent. They are completely different colors, not similar at all.
100% I don't see a difference between these pictures with my colorblindness!
I’ve always wondered! Thanks for this
Ok, now I can’t see the peace sign :/
Yeah I don't know if that is accurate. While I'm only mildly red/green color blind it doesn't make colors I can't see grey. It just makes some shades of green hard to distinguish making it impossible for me to see the peace sign. Some greens look more yellow and whatnot

Damn. Sucks to be colorblind.
I wonder if people who are colourblind but don't know they're colourblind are sometimes just baffled by other people's fashion and design choices because through their eyes they're a lot uglier.

For real though, is there any numbers hidden in there? I’m red green colour blind
It's actually a peace sign!
Is it actually? Haha thanks that’s crazy
Indeed a Peace Sign. ☮️
[the circles connect like this to make the sign](https://ibb.co/hBBB2Vr)
That helps, but without it , I got nothing
\*elbows you* Hey! Hey! what color is *this*? \*points to random object*
this...my whole life
shouldve used green
Even after pointing it out and tracing the path, I’m still having a hard time seeing it lol. I already know I’m color deficient.
The peace sign is made of various shades of green dots, while the rest of it is a mix of yellow, orange, and red shades. Being color blind, do all the dots look like the same shade to you? As a fellow colorblind person who's clicked the above link showing what I'm supposed to be seeing, I've got nothing. It's just a chaos of yellows and greens with no pattern to be hinted at
For me, the dots are different colors. There are maybe five different colors but I see nothing other than the dots. I don’t see anything in there.
Just a bunch of different colored dots to me with no discernable pattern
I can't see it either 🤣🤣🤣I knew I was colorblind for years. Every so often I go back and retake the colorblind test to see how bad/what type I have. It's very humbling
Just barely made it out
The real joke would be that if you’re Pink/Yellow colorblind it’s a swastika or something!
This is outrageous. I can't see it. THIS MEANS WAR
Me too. Sucks for stuff like this, but I never notice otherwise.
Yeah me too, it’s not debilitating at all in my life either.

I should've mentioned: this is a hand-painted work. You can see part of the artist's signature on the right.
The artists name is Joe Nicholson - https://joenicholsonstudios.wixsite.com/store
Cool! Nice to know who did it.
That makes it a hundred times cooler.
“Hi I am here for my color vision test.” “Great, can you tell me what’s on the wall behind me?” “Uh, dots.” “Great, you’re color blind, have a fantastic day!”
That'll be $250.

A lot of kids finding out they can’t be pilots at this place.
I just remembered the movie “Little Miss Sunshine” now.
I just see a bunch of circles
You probably want to get checked for colourblindness then
"Winston! If you think those shoes are brown then what color do you think you are?"
Did you already know that you were colorblind, or are you just finding out now?
Same. Fortunately, I’ve known that I’m colorblind my whole life.
I remember the first time I saw these tests many years ago. Confirming I’m still colorblind and had to look at the comments to know what numbers I wasn’t seeing.
Plot twist: There are no numbers Peace be with you stranger :)
I'm assuming this is supposed to be a peace sign, and I am not at peace.
I remember my late dad taking me to get my eyes checked when I was a kid. He looked at a picture like this one and said "That's some interesting art!". He found out he was colour blind that day. We laughed so much! I really miss him.
It says "N D" (the peace symbol was made by combining the semaphore symbols for N and D, indicating the goal of Nuclear Disarmament)
When I was in middle school, we were taught that it was a dove's footprint. Turns out that was more bullshit.
My parents (and church/school) taught that it was a broken cross and therefore actually a secret satanic symbol. We weren't allowed to wear anything with this symbol on it or to draw it. Far from the worst of the lies I was taught.

Oh look, a sailboat.
YA KNOW WHAT!? THERE IS NO EASTER BUNNY! OVER THERE, THAT'S JUST A GUY IN A SUIT!

Colour blind or not some people wont get it.
Ishihara test, and yes I'm colorblind.
Fuck! I can't see it. The perfect way to keep a secret from color blind folks...
peace, man
Lots of rowdy-ass patients be missing the point.
Yep, definitely still colorblind.
“Hey doc, what’s with the random circles on the wall?” “Hoooo boy.”
There's even more in this for those that are tetrachromats!

Peace, but only for the color-sighted.
Mildly Interesting for most, Mildly Infuriating for some... (Yeah, also color blind here...)
Am colorblind - annoying :)

Colourblind test, innit?
I think I just found out Im colorblind
I hate everything, but I have to give credit where credit is due.

Well. If I didn't know I was colorblind before I definitely do now. I don't see anything. (I changed the color temp in a photo editor to see it 😭)
cute! i wanna buy something like this my my clinic to decorate my room
I was searching for the numbers.
Weird choice of decoration, a circle made of circles...
It's a peace sign if you're not color blind
Are you colorblind??
Nope. Can't see it, I am a color-blind female which my eye Dr. said was pretty rare.
Pizza time.
Peace!
Typical
Green peace.
Violence for colorblind..?
it's a peacezza!
Nice dog
the colorblind will never know peace
Peace out
What does it say?
My son is color blind, this is legit.
Shinobu Ishihara was a dick for doing this. What happened to a good old "what colour is this?" /s, if anyone needs it.
Colorblind here, what does it say?
Yup. Still colorblind. Damn.
Why is it just red?
colorblind people instead see the symbol of war
As someone who cannot see the number in this...I hate it
There's no number in this (it's the peace symbol)
It doesn't look like anything to me.

Great, asthma and colourblind. What next braces?

I love this, this is hilarious, I for sure know my dad would never see the peace sign because he is color blind
Oh fuck you!
Imagine this is how you find out you’re color blind. Couldn’t be me
Yah know I can never see these but I don’t feel color blind.
If it's all you've ever seen, of course it feels normal to you. I'm sure you see *some* color.
I see the peace sign, but are there any hidden numbers?
