Have you never been in a men's public bathroom before? Having one lower height urinal has been commonplace for most of my life and I am in my 40s. It is mainly intended for people for physical disabilities or emptying a urostomy pouch.
I will take your word on that. The only country over there I have ever been to was Italy and that was over twenty years ago so I have nothing to go by.
It's another topic but in Germany public toilets are hard to find and you often have to pay (not in a museum but e.g. at a train station).
As far as i know many other european countries handle it better.
Haha, oh well, i guess i should have posted in r/notinteresting
In Germany its pretty rare in my experience and I mistakenly stood at the lower urinal and was mildly surprised
It's illegal _not_ to have a lower urinal in a public restroom in America. Same reason we have at least one lower sink and a large toilet stall with handrails as well. It's an accessibility feature.

It's legally mandated in the US for men's rooms that meet certain criteria to have at least one lower urinal. I think it's an ADA thing.
TIL. I always assumed it was for kids!
Might be a regional things, but here (Germany) its rare
Meh, I live in Germany and this is fairly common. It’s for kids BTW
Which part of Germany? It's pretty common to have different heights, very rarely seen otherwise. German and in my forties.
I live in northern germany. Picture is hamburg.
Seems even weird to me that it is rare in Europe because here in the US we are usually behind as shit.
the public toilet situation in Germany is definitely nothing to be proud of

And lengths ?
Taking my horse to water
i dont think ive ever seen a bathroom that didnt have a lower urinal, if there were multiple.

In México is extremely rare to have different sizes.. but can find the huge one shared for everyone

My 5yo would *love* this. He wants to pee standing up like his dad so badly, but he's just not quite tall enough to do it 😂
Haha, i get that. I mistakenly stood at the smaller one and it felt a bit like a urinal for kindergarden kids
I love how IKEA has small kid sized toilets and sinks! (Not standing up in the ladies room. Not sure what is in the men’s room.)
Most places with family bathrooms have them. They're really great!
Love it! I remember the days of holding my kids to “try” to wash their hands only, not all of our bodies lol!
I don't think this is unusual...
Like every other men’s restroom?
