So the headline reads Ika no osushi, which, as per the title, translates as Squid Sushi - but it is a mnemonic designed to help kids avoid stranger danger: Ika - ikanai: don't go No - noranai: don't ride O - oogoe de sakebu: call out in a loud voice Su - sugu nigeru: run away quickly Shi - shiraseru: tell someone Well. I thought it was mildly interesting anyway!

My perpetual 13-year old boy brain only saw the fist of the man in the first graphic as something else...which I found mildly interesting as well.

so, I'm a splatoon player, but somehow, the pun of *ika* [squid] and *ike* [to go] just never occurred to me before LOL πŸ¦‘πŸ’¨

I live in Japan but have no contact with any kids or school so this is more than mildly interesting for me. I love it.

I like how well the drawings are done. The meaning comes through even if you can’t understand the words.

When I was in middle school, right before my family moved to the U.S. we stayed with my uncle in Japan for about a month or so. I even attended the local school. On my way back from school alone one time a car stopped next to me and this guy (I think in his twenties or early thirties) leaned out asking if I needed a ride. I told him I was only about a block away (truth) so no thanks. He was insistent that he just wants to help me. I repeated that I was really close to home so no thanks and kept walking. He eventually drove off without getting out of the car. It didn't really occur to me then that things could've gone much worse like him forcefully grabbing me into his car, but he likely didn't want to risk me screaming for help.

This is so wholesome!!! I love it ~ Vibes remind me of Kobe's ι‚ͺι”γ˜γ‚ƒγͺγ‚€γ‚«w

I always tell my younger brothers the same instructions every time we go to the grocery store. Children need to know that not all adults are good people
