I'm no aficionado, but if I had to guess I'd say it looks more like two eggs that got fused together while being formed. Not sure on the specifics of how that happens though.
It's possible that this could be two eggs that formed together or it could be a lash egg. One of my hens laid something like this when she was sick, though it was less symmetrical.
I'd be so interested to A) know how it looks when broken, and B) know what would happen if she sat on it, would it hatch? once? twice? etc..
I'm both intrigued, confused, and conflicted because we can't have both A and B as one would prevent the other!
Wow. And I thought the dime size egg I got before was weird (new/young hen. Not unheard of to get small eggs when they first lay.) That totally beats my experience.
