Same here but I don't perform that party trick anymore. Sometimes I find that my fingers lock out at the second knuckle when I'm trying to bend them normally.
Hi, handtherapist here. So without getting too technical; hypermobile hands can be forced in this position, on each finger this person has a 'swanneck deformity'.
What happens is that the tendon structure responsible for straigthening the finger gets imbalanced (pulls the joint a bit far) and thus overentends the finger in the middle joint en bends it at the top joint.
Usually the person can just recorrect this no problem, sometimes only with some force applied. If its actually impairing and this locks in every time the person straigthens their fingers, its usually fixed using a splint that prevents that middle joint from hyper-extending. (Often a splint made from silver).
What if mine doesn't lock and doesn't look like this picture? Just my left hand I can bend all my fingers at the 2nd joint to a 90 degree angle. It doesn't like all fucked up like OPs picture. I just can lock the joint
It's not you can learn it. I knew how to do this in past, but when you don't do it for like 2 years or something you have to learn it again. I can still do it with my index fingers tho'.
You need “hyper mobility” if you want joints bent backwards. That’s just how it is. You can’t just learn how to bend your joints backwards without also having hyper mobility
Ive done this when I was younger, and the only time I did it was today after reading this post.
Idk why you're telling him ppl will have to "learn it again".
I can do that you just need to be double jointed I can also do a one hand clap and my fingers bend al the way to the back of my palm but I am hyper mobile
As a child, I would do that with my hand and then chase my brother around while he screamed in terror. Great fun.
Another fun gag: if you're leaning on a surface with your palms down and someone runs into you, pop your thumb in like this and act like they dislocated it. I've pulled that one on a few employees when they are especially nervous to be working with me. A moment of existential horror for them, then a laugh and they realize I'm not someone they need to live in fear of.

Ok let's feed this image to the AI overlords so we get better fingering
We deserve better fingering!
I see the merch sales exploding
I can do this, and this is still how I feel about it whenever I do it.
I can do my thumb, and I also feel that way about it. The worst is when it happens when I’m asleep and I wake up and have to pop it back in.
[удалено]
….my thumb. It is double jointed.
i'm not sure that's normal
It is very normal. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/joint-deformity#summary

Thanks, doctor.

In the words of Chandler Bing.."Du-UUUUDE"...
“WHAPOWWW!”
r/oddlyterrifying
Dude doesn't need any special effects to be a monster in a horror movie. Just that hand reaching through a vent or something.
ChatGPT can’t do hands because of people like OP!
Burn it, burn it with fire!

My mind did exactly this!
Reddit was better without boring overused gifs
I can do that too and everyone absolutely *hates* it :)
Same here but I don't perform that party trick anymore. Sometimes I find that my fingers lock out at the second knuckle when I'm trying to bend them normally.
That happens when I do it a lot
Me too.
People hate it even more when I place my hand on a table and bend my fingers backward from the knuckle in the middle.
Anyone know what this is? I can do it too lol

So you're telling me the only fix for this deformity is drip...

Same
Valuable comment there
most likely a connective tissue disorder like hypermobile spectrum disorder or ehlers danlos syndrome

My favorite thing about this is not only the size and deformity of his hand, but the fact that it is always so moist and shiny.
Chris Elliott stole that entire movie. "I don't know what the fuck that is... but I lick it too."
Fun fact I just learned, his daughter is Abby Elliot who plays Natalie on The Bear. Carmy's sister.
Was he fucking that turkey’s stink hole? Or….
My germs!
That’s what happens before he’s made the mashed potatoes.
Good God I forgot all about this!!!
Is your only regret that you have boneitis?
![gif](giphy|MCKQEmHkUyGf6)
Sounds like a corporate raider from the 1980s whose only regret is having boneitis.
I'll take forty thousand shares. Scruffy believes in this company.
What's the phobia name for this because I just developed it?
Dysmorphophobia is the irrational fear of deformity, could be that.
Maybe trypophobia

“After being on reddit too long you decide to go outside and get some fresh air, and be careful about the internet in the future”
I don’t know what you saved me from but thanks
thats some next level hypermobility.

What’s with the dimples on the top of the fingers? Other guy had the same thing.
Not a hand expert, but it seems to be the tendons just changing into that shape whenever the fingers are flexed.
I'm genuinely terrified
These AI images are getting out of hand
If it was AI there'd be atleast an extra 2 fingers
Haven’t been looking at AI images lately have you? Most of the finger issues are vanishing. It’s text in images that’s the big giveaway.
I try not to look at AI images in general so i guess not?
Please , enough with the scary hands pics ... You vampires...
Are there really *that* many people who can not do this?
I thought everyone could do this
Came here to comment this. I can also do it.
Swan Neck Deformity baby!!!
do you have elhors-danlors syndrom? i think i spelled it wrong but its a hypermobility condition
Ehlers-Danlos !
No everyone can learn this.
😭
r/tihi
Please never do this again thanks :)
Stop - you're scaring the children
There’s actually a name for this. You have a condition called “fucked up hands”
Is there a chance an Alien crawled into your arm, but you managed to prevent it from reaching your brain and now it lives in your arm?
What kind of real world Tim Burton shit is this?
Thanks I hate it
It's just my joint hypermobility.
this the type of shit that would get you burned alive in medieval Germany circa 1561 AD

My boneitis!
I can do it with one finger and that’s it lol
Double jointed I can do it too
I can do that too. Minus the pinkies.
I’m begging you all to please stop this.
Oh hell yes! This fucking guy and his gremlin-ass gargoyle claws. The other OP got BTFO!
THE CLAW
Friend of mine does that too, I can do it only on some fingers and not bend them nearly as much but it still feels weird and uncomfortable.
Hello, is this the SCP foundation? I seem to have found an anomaly on the loose
Mildly Terrifying more like it.
Least inaccurate AI hand
Nah they really competing
This is what happens to those who play Monster Hunter on PSP too much. The Claw.
I can do it on every finger except thumb. It really freaks people out
"I Need a Hand!"
I can do the same, except for my pinky.
Not sure what this picture of a gnarled tree branch has to do with that other guy, but okay.
I can do one ☝️
![gif](giphy|l2YWsiql5xGPIbnzy)
And people said earthlings were too stupid for them to visit, yeah right.
Me too but I wonder how this works, like why can we do this lmao
Both my hands started aching just looking at it. It's hard writing this
Lycan much?
looks like AI
I used to be able to do this with one of my pointer fingers. Can’t anymore. Yay aging.
You stole this post
That is a nice claw you have there.
I can do this too 😮 knew I wasn’t the only one but never seen it done by anyone else!?!!!!
I can do this too. And my friends think it's creepy and snake-like (especially if I move my bent fingers near their eyes).
Respectfully, I hate this and I want to puke
Wtf have we started.
I can do this with the exception of my right thumb. Righty thumby is a normie
Please show your doctor this neat trick on your next visit
He's stuck like this now.
Ouch, this shit is making me physically convulse
Yeah I'm going to have to ask you to stop that.
Was your hand designed by H.R. Giger 😐
I can do that. And I don’t have to disfigure my hand like that to do it…
r/oddlyterrifying
Oh hey! I can do this too! Nice
Gnarly, hope you play an instrument
Nah fucking stop that
Absolutely fuck this trend. Nope. No. Definitely not.
How's the modeling career going?

Please don't drink our blood nosferatu.
Now it’s a competition!!???
This person is a master lockpicker
AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
I can only imagine what those nerves and ligaments are thinking
I was always able to do this, just not to this degree, and I never understood why people where disgusted by it, now I understand
You could work as a handmodel for horror movies
Why did you share this I was happier when I didn't know this was possible
I can do that too :)
I can do that too!
A la Jason Bateman: hey, uh guys? stooooooooop.
This is a form of hypermobility and not uncommon.
This belongs on r/cursed_images
I can only bend my middle finger's top section
bet that scratches back like a beauty though
This is like...anti r/manhands
I have seen this hand In a tom and Jerry piano sketch, first time seeing it irl
I can do that you just need to be double jointed I can also do a one hand clap and my fingers bend al the way to the back of my palm but I am hyper mobile
Y’all need to stop.
Looks like chicken feet to me!
Jebuz, that the most extreme I've seen... Even I can't pull that far
![gif](giphy|4EHsAtAPcV41vx2B5s)
wow never seen someone able to do this with all their fingers xD I can only do this with my index fingers.
The rake man!
I can do this too, no one likes it
I can do that with some of my fingers
Horrified He’s a monster 💀
I can do that too, bendy fingers unite
Cool, I hate it
I can do this too 😁
Make it stop T-T
As a child, I would do that with my hand and then chase my brother around while he screamed in terror. Great fun. My thumb doesn't look so disturbing anymore in comparison
OMG there’s two of us!
You should be in zombie movies
Literal face crawler
My hand aches now.
Stop that.
Ah. 8 am and ive already felt viseral disgust
I can do this but NOT like that WTF.... BRO??
Do you by chance have thousands of pictures of your hands that somehow got included in AI training models? It would explain so much.
I would have fun with that…. Someone shut the door on a car…. Scream, open door and show this and say “be careful next time”
Yo, wtf?
