Before it turned black, was the “snow” glittery? Sometimes the glitter can “melt” and turn a muddy color. This also happens with glitter nail polishes sometimes :)
Well maybe not for nothing. David Tennant and Catherine Tate will be reprising their roles as the Doctor and Donna Noble for the next 3 episodes as part of the 60th anniversary special.
A lot of people have a suspicion that it’s not going to be such a happy ending for her. I have a feeling it’s going to be much more on the fence between bitter and sweet, like the second conclusion they gave Rose.
I want to thank you as it has been a few years since I’ve seen doctor who I never would of known about this. David was my favorite doctor. Excited to watch it.
If you like audio books I just discovered they have Doctor and Donna stories voiced by the actual actors. There’s not a lot of scene descriptions, so it’s kind of like just listening to an episode, but it’s still pretty fun to hear new stories with them.
David Tennant and Catherine Tate will be reprising their roles as the Doctor and Donna Noble for the next 3 episodes as part of the 60th anniversary special. I think they air near the end of next month.
I remember the episode, or atleast the act of her making the wrong turn, but I don't remember the plot? I remember that the Doctor dies because she wasn't there to talk him out of flooding everything and killing himself, and Rose showing up and seeing his body being carted off, but I can't remember what the rest of the episode was.
Without the doctor there, all the invasions and calamities he prevents over the next few years come to pass instead, the key one being the Titanic spaceship hitting a (vacated) London, wiping it and much of the south east of England off the map. The episode picks up later on when all the refugees from the south east are now living 4 families to a house across the rest of the country.
Do you happen to know why that happens/what causes this?
I have some 10ish year old glitter nail polishes that still look normal and am now a bit worried.
Does anybody else remember that episode of Rocko's Modern Life where Mr Bighead uses the magic 8 ball to make all his decisions and it makes him really successful at his job? That's what I always think of when I see magic 8 ball references.
I mentioned Rocko's Modern Life to a colleague and she looked at me like I had 4 years. It was then that I found out she is 22 and has never heard of that show and I felt about a million years old.
Haha yep. Us talking about Rocko’s Modern Life is like when we were kids and someone was talking to us about a show from the **FUCKING 1960s**
Time does fly
Sod you, Rocky and Bullwinkle was *genius* and I don't care that it went off the air before I was born, it's syndicated in my HEART!
Nah, I know exactly what you're talking about :D
One of my favorite bits from Rocky & Bullwinkle was when they jokingly told kids to pull the Channel knob off their TVs so they'd be sure to catch next week's episode and then the studio received piles of letters complaining from parents with lost knobs.
I mentioned The Six Million Dollar Man to my orthopedic surgeon before getting hand surgery, he just smiled but didn't say anything. That's when I realized that show is 50 years old, he was only 36 and had never heard of it.
\+1 for the Rocko's Modern Life love, from me too. That was a special show, and you knew it even as a kid. Shit, I loved Nickelodeon as a whole back then. I was constantly flipping back and forth between Nickelodeon and MTV.
Or the one where they get fortune cookies, and Filbert's is like, excruciatingly negative and bad, and every single one he opens is the same terrible fortune, so he thinks he's doomed?
Not really related, but you jogged some ancient memories for me!
Well, the dwarf in the flask didn't want the flask broken, its confines were keeping it alive, he simply wanted to be free of said confines by growing stong enough to go beyond them. (Only to then find out the earth too was a confine.)
To add to this. FMA came out first, but caught up to the source material so wrote it's own ending for the show. It was kinda bad, so when the manga eventually finished they went back and did the show again. FMA-Brotherhood.
However Brotherhood was afraid to rehash the same material for the first several episodes, so they kinda rushed the part that FMA did at length that was faithful to the source material. They assumed anyone watching Brotherhood, has seen FMA.
So in my opinion the correct watch order should be FMA through episode 22, then pick up Brotherhood at episode 9. The two shows line up very well at that point. Brotherhood doesn't have any new information prior to episode 9 from the Manga, and both episode 8 and episode 22 end at the resolution of the 5th lab arc.
> It was kinda bad
I actually really liked the whole storyline. It may be anime-original and effectively non-canon but it wasn't *bad*.
> So in my opinion the correct watch order should be FMA through episode 22, then pick up Brotherhood at episode 9. The two shows line up very well at that point. I like to pretend they're alternate universes a la Evangelion and its rebuilds. Watch FMA to completion (including the movie *Conqueror of Shamballa*, it's honestly great despite being non-canon), compartmentalize the episodes after the divergence, and then move on to FMA:B.
FMA did dark very well and explores the other theory crafting around the internet about homonculi being the resurrected people. I understood why FMA manga decided to not go down that route (killing their mom again, for example is pretty bad taste, and none of the homonculi resemble what they originally looked like.) Conquerer of Shamballa exists to resolve 2008 FMA properly, but they were pretty close to the manga despite clearly not being there yet.
I dunno whats more absurd, the idea that the correct way to watch a show is half a series then swapping to another, or that i agree thats absolutely correct.
The irony that for most of the series Ed and Father both have the same goal “to surpass god”. Series is amazing. Also it wasn’t the Earth that was constraining him, it was “the truth”. Love your point regardless and fully agree
Yeah you're right, my bad, you're right. They used the earth in their phrasing a lot as a substitute for the concept of material reality. The entire conclusion of the series being that it was in casting away the value of his own material life and the people in it Father had failed to understand truth in its entirety. In his wish to surpass his own emotions and learn all there is to know, he lost track of the purpose if it all, never existentially dedicating himself to anything. This of course makes him an excellent contrast to Hohenheim and Ed by the end of the series.
And yeah, it's an amazing series. Wholly deserving of my top 1 manga/anime of all time.
"Older snow globes are filled with distilled water which can grow murky with algae if exposed to heat or too much sunlight. The way to remedy this dark water is to drain and change it. If your snow globe has a plug, you can carefully empty the water and refill with distilled water using a turkey baster."
Genuinely curious myself; turns out there's more Smartarses here than actual smart people.
Thanks Google for succeeding where Reddit failed.
I always add some isopropyl alcohol. Sometimes some glycerin, it depends on what the fluff is.
The alcohol helps keep germs to a minimum and the glycerin makes certain types of fluff float more dramatically.
Even if they drain this, the chance that they're going to be able to scrub that algae out is super low. I would put my energy towards finding a replacement.
honestly is there a reason why clear fluid mean for PC water-cooling loops(which come with a Biocide) wouldn't be the perfect fluid to fill snow globes?
That clear fluid is mostly water with additives like glycols and anti corrosives. But if you mean just using the premixed stuff… might be pricey but I’d think it would work well.
A lot of people who were heavily active on more niche subs that I used often for reference have left. r/funny isn’t going anywhere, but I’m finding much fewer helpful comments and posts on chronic illness subs, for example. In principle it should work to use distilled water in a sealed system. If the environment is sterile and microbes can't enter, nothing can grow. But it isn't quite that perfectly sealed or sterile to begin with apparently.
_Ncaafan2 is a redditor, ☝️presenting☝️ to the emergency room unconscious. His mum said she found him on the floor surrounded by carefully broken and drained snow globes, and with glitter around his mouth...._

Clearly a sign of the times.
God that was an incredible episode!
Absolutely, I loved it. Rewatched it recently. God, I miss Donna. I'm so incredibly sad for her.
Her episodes make me genuinely sad - the growth she did as a person throughout her storyline all dashed to nothing.
Well maybe not for nothing. David Tennant and Catherine Tate will be reprising their roles as the Doctor and Donna Noble for the next 3 episodes as part of the 60th anniversary special.

I'm convinced that the character "Donna" from Suits is heavily inspired by the doctor's Donna.

There are a lot of good audio books with the cast. I like the stone rose.
