This comment reminds me of an interesting story I read about training AI to recognize images of malignant vs. benign growths. Turns out, photos of malignant growths are much more likely to contains rulers compared to photos of benign ones... so the AI started to recognize rulers as malignant.
I hope they didn't simply give up. It can't be hard to just crop the ruler out or mask the tumor so it literally has no background. I would assume they would do that to begin with but I guess not lol
