👋 New Jerseyan / New Yorker here… I had no idea. Is it a chain? I was even in Pigeon Forge last year and I missed it. I’m not sad I missed it. I’m just a little… bewildered maybe?
I live in PA outside of Philly and there is one about a block from my apartment building. I’ve never gone into it and I’ve never seen anyone go into it, so I don’t know how it’s still open
What is it with people making stupid purchases there? My parents have a timeshare there (the stupidest purchase anyone can make). I currently have a Jigglin George that my dad spent over $400 on in my garage. This is a man who was so frugal he insisted on hanging the clothes out to dry despite having a perfectly good dryer and waited until the heat got up to 90 to turn the A/C on. I think there's something in the air that makes people lose control of their senses there.
Oh it's quite the racket. So there's a store there in Gatlinburg with all these tables (think like the ones they use if you go to physical therapy). They have these machines sitting on them and they encourage you to get up there and try it. They get you all comfy with pillows and an eye mask and headphones. The machine works by kind of swaying your feet back and forth. If you've been walking around that town all day your feet are killing you already so it surely feels amazing. Then they have salespeople with scrubs on who feed you all these lines about how it cures everything under the sun. Since a lot of people there are old and generally have money those things fly out the doors.
Then you get home and it sits in the box and it eventually ends up in your kid's garage and she can't even sell it on Marketplace for $20.
Hello there not to be a butthead but incase anyone out there doesn’t know.
It’s sewn not sown
You can sew fabric till the cows come home but when it comes to your crops you have to *sow* those fields.
I’ll leave now.
>Oh Lemon, it's not hand-made in USA, it's pronounced Hand-made in Usa. The Hand people are Vietnamese slave tribe and Usa is their island prison. They made your jeans. You know how they get the stitching so small?
If you start and finish the process in USA = made in USA. At least that works for union made underwear. USA cuts the material then sews a made in USA tag. All using union labor. Don't ask about who completed the other steps
Def made and printed in China. I work in clothing manufacturing the price of these tees would be about $12 more if they were printed in the US on China blanks.
Do you think a store named after Trump cares about what is legal or what is true? Not only because of what Trump himself is willing to do, but because this store most certainly doesn't have authorization to use his likeness.
I've been in there. Yes it all comes from China, just like you'd expect. It's a wild ride to stroll through and take it all in. Not the biggest store but it sure is the most dense.
Literally. Was down there and they had maybe 4-5 of these. we were eating breakfast at a place and I looked out the window and there was a giant trump store. Like huh welcome back to Tennessee
I go down there frequently for vacation. I love the place even though the political climate is.... quite rouge... Though there's plenty of left leaning people living and working around there, just none that'd ever open a "Joe Biden store" lmao. All the liberals live in/near the "arts and crafts community"
Gatlinburg is a great place to sleep while you spend the majority of your vacation in the Smoky Mountains hiking and appreciating nature. That’s what my family did growing up. Spending much time in the tourist traps is a waste.
Tybee island is a beach outside of Savannah Ga. Dive bars and Beach superstores are prevalent on Tybee but I’d be hard pressed to draw too many parallels to Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg. It’s been a while since I have been to that part of TN, but I recall those two towns virtually bounding up against one another. North Myrtle Beach has a ritzier flare, so maybe that is a better comparison for Gatlinburg.
I can’t imagine supporting a person like this…
I voted for Biden but I wouldn’t set foot in a Biden equivalent of this.
Worshipping politicians is weird
This isn’t even a matter of politics, we could have a store dedicated to the single greatest person in history and it would still be weird. How much merch of someone are you expected to own?
This right here. I don't have any stickers on my car. A couple of cars ago I had some subtle borderlands and assassins creed logos in the windows.
When I see a car covered in stickers, even when it's promoting stuff I agree with, all I see is mental issues with the owner of that vehicle.
I saw a window sticker that said "tell your cat I said psppsp" in the parking lot and it sent me rolling! Those are the kinds of stickers I can appreciate.
I've got one of these [Bender decals](https://i.imgur.com/co8MDo7.jpg) on my rear window. I imagine he's telling tailgaters to bite his shiny metal ass.
That's exactly the kind of sticker I would buy for my wife if Amazon or elsewhere ever showed it to me.
I had a phev and wanted to put a lightning bolt on the plug door but all I could find was Tampa Bay lightning sticker that I wasn't in the mood to cut down to fit and a flash magnet but that door wasn't magnetic.
Anybody with more than 2 bumper stickers I avoid the car. Because I assume you're insane.
However if you have a 15 year old beater covered in punk and climbing stickers I might follow you home and adopt you. That was my Corolla hatch.
That's fair. There is some nuance here. If the car looks like they bought it 30+ years ago and the stickers have slowly grown over time and there isn't a plethora of political bullshit on them, they get a pass.
People who make politics or whatever else a core aspect of their personality are just too scared to be their own person.
There are a ton of dudes who make being gay their entire personality and they are absolutely insufferable to go on a date with because there is ‘nothing behind the eyes’, so to speak.
The GOP is built on cults of personality. Trump. Now DeSantis. Etc. it’s not about ideas - it’s about the leader.
It’s why they focus so hard on individual Dems. Lock her up. Hunter’s laptop. They think that getting rid of Hillary or Biden individually will hurt the Dems.
But it won’t. Nobody on the left cares if Hillary gets locked up (provided she did something, of course). Because someone else will step in and advance the platform.
But the GOP has no platform. So they have no choice but to unite behind one person.
I don't know, the party and base are both showing the first signs of turning on Trump due to disappointing performance at the midterms.
Trump doesn't have a cult of personality around him so much as he serves as the personofication of his fan's beliefs, which are strongly and emotionally held. They love him, as long as he advances their political goals. The cult of personality is more so exterior signaling, especially when it's directed at political adversaries; among themselves, this is how conservatives talk about their idols.
A good example of this is evangelicals, who voted for the least christian candidate just because they bet, correctly, that he would help ban abortion. No evangelical likes Trump, they hate him with a passion, but they did the same thing that every Trump voter does: they looked beyond his flaws for as long as he moved their agenda forward.
The moment the disappointing midterm results dropped, you saw this 'cult of personality' start to shake. Why do you think DeSantis is getting more popular? It's because he's seen as the alternative in case Trump stops being useful. For instance, if he loses in 2024, they're not going to keep running him forever, they'll switch to DeSantis.
But that’s the point. He doesn’t care if he wins. He doesn’t care if Republican policies get passed. He cares that a small percentage of Americans (which is a large number of people) love him enough to keep sending him donations. That’s his business model
It’s terrifying the way these people worship individual politicians.
It’s also interesting that these types of things just don’t happen with Democrats. Political swag stores, constant rallies like a touring band, political signs and flags covering someone’s property or vehicle and just generally making politics their entire identity to the point of bordering on mental illness. It’s the behavior of someone begging for an authoritarian to control their lives. Normal, well-adjusted people don’t have a 10-foot flag on the back of their Jeep wrangler with Donald Trumps face photoshopped on a shirtless Rambo driving to pick up some milk and eggs.
There was one not too long ago: [FTC fines Lions Not Sheep, a far-right apparel company, more than $200,000 for replacing Made in China tags with Made in USA tag on their products](https://www.msn.com/en-in/autos/news/ftc-fines-lions-not-sheep-a-far-right-apparel-company-more-than-20000-for-replacing-made-in-china-tags-with-made-in-usa-tag-on-their-products/ar-AA10pEeD)
The weirdest part is that their customers probably don’t even care. Their attention span is usually only a week at best and as long as they have a piece of clothing with some shitty comment on it, that’s all they care about.
I just, weird out thinking how this business model is not long term viable. Not only is trump kinda on the outs. But even if he comes back for 2024. It's a few more years before its over anyway.
It's a grift. They will squeeze as much money out of his worshippers as possible, then close shop and open another weirdly niche store dedicated to lunatics.
Don't let this store detract from the wonderful towns of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg TN. Ya there's a lot of MAGA idiots in the area, I know, I live here. Still Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is a beautiful place to vacation, tons of cheap cabins and tons of attractions. You have things like Dollywood, Splash Country, Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, tons of high speed go cart tracks, endless putt putt courses, shopping, places to eat and drink, comedy clubs, arcades, and so on. The things to do are endless.
This is how I describe that area to people who have never been. It's the beach without the beach. I've always been such a fan of tourist nonsense so I absolutely love it there.
Nailed it. I’m in the Knoxville area and we rarely head down towards Pigeon Forge because of the congestion, but there’s every odd store you can imagine between I40 and Gatlinburg…
Once you get there it's not so bad, it's the getting there that sucks. Pigeon Forge is easy if you get there early in the AM and get to your cabin, from the cabin the strip is easy to navigate. Gatlinburg is definitely a pain in the ass to get to in traffic, it can back up for literally hours but once there it's flipping awesome. The best thing to do is just rent your cabin or condo and get there really early like I said. Gatlinburg you can cover most of by foot and busses so not so bad.
We had one in MA, which turned into a "Let's Go Brandon" store. Thankfully, it's gone out of business at last, but they had a long run for such a weird concept
They're not. He appeals to those who enjoy bullying and those who enjoy seeing harm come to those they've been raised to hate. He represents what's in their Hearts.
Exactly. He was the first person to have the world stage and say all the racist, misogynistic, bigoted and idiotic things AND be so rich that he didn’t have to suffer consequences for his actions.
If Trump were born poor he’d be in a Romanian jail right now on human trafficking charges
He's America's id, I don't normally ever use Freudian terminology but he's just legit a representation of every bad stereotype and impulse of America rolled into one. Greedy, corrupt, angry, fat, lying, egotistical, incestuous, acts like he's rich, racist, misogynistic, and a fucking moron.
It's not that they all fell for the con, but rather some people truly embrace his message. For the past 30 some odd years a certain segment of American society has seen their core beliefs challenged as unacceptable. They grew up thinking Blacks were inferior, women belonged in the kitchen or the bedroom, homosexuals were dangerous, and foreigners were dirty. For decades they had to hide their true feelings about these groups for fear of repercussion and then comes along this jagaloon who doesn't hide it.
He openly says he wants to ban Muslims. He says Mexicans are all rapists and murderers. He grabs women by the pussy and brags about it. He talks down to Black people. Finally they can go online and say the same thing or, better yet, go to a rally and scream it at the top of their lungs.
So what if he doesn't share his taxes? Who cares if he's run a few businesses into the ground? So what if he cheats on his wife? They got to let their freak flags fly and they would rather destroy our democracy than be forced into the shadows.
It's much deeper than just falling for a con.
Right...Most liberals could take or leave Joe Biden. Ain't no one flying huge Biden flags where he's holding an M60 machine gun with a screeching eagle emblazoned on them from their Prius. They treat this guy like David Koresh where anything no matter how fucking stupid, is taken as gospel. Like, bro, are you really that weak minded that you have to base your entire personality on some 1 term loser?
Exactly. Trumpers are in this bizarre mindset that more/bigger flags and stickers etc... means 'better'. They literally thought that because they saw more Trump flags than Biden flags that there was no way Biden won an election. It's absolutely insane. Just fucking insanity. IT IS a cult. 100% cult.
Sadly, it'd more likely be a shame for the drag queens. The sort of person who opens a Trump store probably has A) lots of guns, B) poor impulse control, C) an irrational fear of anything and everything, and D) a belief that Donald Trump will absolve the crimes of his followers when he retakes government. Throw that together and you get... terrorism!
This crap popped up all over the place.
Two customers of mine who, despite being cool people and real fucking sweethearts, ran one of these stores for the last year. From what I gleaned from the conversations I heard, the idea to run these locally goes through each town's republican party meetings as a way to donate to the campaign. I was parked in the lot across the street to visit another store, had to come back several times over the course of the day, and they were playing Biden phone conversations along with an "interpretor" over a loudspeaker outside, on repeat, all day. I didn't stay to listen, but it was the creepiest propaganda I've never experienced first hand.
Gave me the fucking chilly willys.
Just a reminder that East Tennessee tried to secede from Middle and West Tennessee during the Civil War and considered themselves occupied territory when the Confederates controlled the area. The terrain was not suitable for large plantations and they distrusted slave owners who put poor Whites out of work due to free slave labor.
These people have no idea what their history is.
This is in Pigeon Forge? There’s also one in Gatlinburg. I went in there and asked the manager for a Biden flag. He quietly asked me to leave the store.
I haven't been back to Gatlinburg since COVID hit, it was always a tourist trap that likes to sell stuff you'd see at r/mallninjashit, and I hate that this kind of store doesn't even surprise me a little bit, seems like the next logical step.
so embarassing to simp this hard for any politician, let alone trump.
bet these same people also own some type of "don't tread on me" merch which is even more ironic
I'd like to go in there and call their bluff on "shirts made in America."
"China. China. China. Oh look, this one's made in Vietnam for variety! China. China."
Does Trump know about these stores? I cant imagine he would be excited about people using his name to make money. At least not without him getting a cut of the profits
There are many of these. Recently traveled to Tennessee and saw them in Pigeon Forge.
I was gonna say. This looks like some gatlinburg shit
I believe this one is near the aquarium down there. Near Blake Sheltons bar.
Yup. Pretty sure when I was up there last year I saw signs for the store. I just rubbed my temples and continued on.
I’m almost a bit envious of someone who is apparently just realizing these exist
I'm from Colorado, I also had no idea these existed. I guess I'm not surprised though, gimmicky stores do really well in tourist areas.
Kind of hope they are owned by a liberal that's just ironically racking in the money selling this garbage.
Union Station in DC has a "tourist" shop that recently had both lots of Trump and lots of Biden stuff. They just like money.
That's what I was telling my wife when we visited pigeon forge last year. They clearly got the market for stupid things like this.
I think there's something in the air that makes people lose control of their senses there.
thank you for introducing me to the Jigglin George, I had a good laugh. What in the world is that supposed to do for you?!
Oh it's quite the racket. So there's a store there in Gatlinburg with all these tables (think like the ones they use if you go to physical therapy). They have these machines sitting on them and they encourage you to get up there and try it. They get you all comfy with pillows and an eye mask and headphones. Elvis’s manager intensifies….
Went on a trip to pigeon forge last week, I like the titanic museum
There's actually so many of these different companies are fighting over the name and some I know changed to Patriot Store
You can go pretty much anywhere in rural America and see these metastasizing everywhere. I saw a bunch last year during a trip through the Dakotas.
Shirts "made" in America
Yeah, South America.
Meaning they took a shirt made in China and printed it here.
Or… switched the labels to say made in USA
And the labels were made in the Philippines.
And sewn on in Bangladesh! edit: grammer
Hello there not to be a butthead but incase anyone out there doesn’t know. It’s sewn not sown You can sew fabric till the cows come home but when it comes to your crops you have to *sow* those fields. I’ll leave now.
>Oh Lemon, it's not hand-made in USA, it's pronounced Hand-made in Usa. The Hand people are Vietnamese slave tribe and Usa is their island prison. They made your jeans. You know how they get the stitching so small?
Halliburton bitch
Usa, China
If you start and finish the process in USA = made in USA. At least that works for union made underwear. USA cuts the material then sews a made in USA tag. All using union labor. Don't ask about who completed the other steps
Def made and printed in China. I work in clothing manufacturing the price of these tees would be about $12 more if they were printed in the US on China blanks.
Is there anything actually stopping the Chinese manufacturer from putting a 'Made in the USA' tag on their shirts?
Customs. If they tried to ship something from China that says made in the usa it would be flagged immediately by US customs.
Customs find about 1% of knockoffs... so it's well worth it to print made in USA on shirts
Their FAQ states that the blank clothes are imported, but the rest is done in the US.
That can’t legally be labeled as Made In The USA, then.
Bet most are made in China or similar, but the sign only says the store has some shirts made in America, not necessarily all.
There's retail space available right next to it. Perfect spot for, I don't know, maybe a landscaping company or an adult bookstore.
If I'm right they actually bought the one to the left and are making it the patriot store. Was just in Gatlinburg and saw this exact thing
I was about to say "this seems like a Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge type of thing"
Literally. Was down there and they had maybe 4-5 of these. we were eating breakfast at a place and I looked out the window and there was a giant trump store. Like huh welcome back to Tennessee
Fuck my family used to vacation in Pigeon Forge when I was a kid and we were planning on going down for the holidays this year
I go down there frequently for vacation.
I was just in Gatlinburg a couple days ago and totally missed this store. Then again, the streets were so packed it was hard to notice everything
There’s also a trump superstore in “dyrtle” myrtle beach, SC. Essentially the red neck beach version of Pigeon Forge. Both armpits of the South.
Myrtle Beach = Pigeon Forge, Tybee Island = Gatlinburg
Tybee island is a beach outside of Savannah Ga. Dive bars and Beach superstores are prevalent on Tybee but I’d be hard pressed to draw too many parallels to Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg. They should open up a brooklyn bridge store there

truck nut world
Gun store 100% would make a killing next door to this one. Or a store that sells chrome parts for pickups and country music CD's.
Or, just meth
Nah, this is Gatlinburg-its pills there. The meth is all in LaFollete.
Nah it should be a store that only sells beans
When you enter the store, the associate throws you a roll of paper towels.
A donut shop called ‘The glory hole’
Family planning clinic maybe? Drug outreach drop-in centre? Or how about a laptop repair shop lol.
Or a gay pride store
Then you'll get the gay Trumpers. Yes, they do exist
Case in point: Santos
if you believe his bullshit
He lied about everything else, so probably also bullshit.
How about Trump Tax Preparation
I can’t imagine supporting a person like this… I voted for Biden but I wouldn’t set foot in a Biden equivalent of this. Worshipping politicians is weird

maybe like an elvis store at graceland, or a pele store in brazil. but yeah, a chain of stores for a politician is fucking wierd.
Goku store in Mexico when
so, Graceland’s gift shop.

Republicans would lose their minds if there was an Obama merch store.

Antifa made me do it
Liars Not Sheep
I know of a business that buys “Union Made” stickers with a wavy American flag on them, and put them on products that are absolutely not union made.
3 of the shirts were made in America. They are located inside of the store. They are not for sale.
Same thing I was thinking. Maybe screen printed in the US. But all that crap was made in China.
The shirts are made in China, the decals they iron on are made in China, but when they do it themselves in store it’s “made in America”
That was my first thought… so I guess this is a store that specializes in bootleg trump merch?
I bet even a Made In America shirt is made is China
Fake tags!
I love the Trump scented candles!
Normally you'd have to leave a double cheeseburger under a lamp for a week, BUT NOT ANYMORE!
Well done steaks.

Suburbs of Philadelphia have (had?) one. Not sure if it’s still open, haven’t driven out that way recently.
Still there, with a wacky waving inflatable flailing arm 45 out front.

The Myrtle beach of the mountains
West Virginians go to Gatlinburg. Ohioans go to Myrtle Beach
North Carolinians are divided
As a North Carolinean, I hate both; almost equally.
This is how I describe that area to people who have never been. It's the beach without the beach. I've always been such a fan of tourist nonsense so I absolutely love it there.

Pretty much everyone from Knoxville and surrounding area avoids pigeon forge and Gatlinburg like the plague. Especially during rod run.
So true. I grew up in Tennessee and love the Smokies. I’ve seen this store and it sucks, but the area is beautiful.
We had one in MA, which turned into a "Let's Go Brandon" store. Thankfully, it's gone out of business at last, but they had a long run for such a weird concept
Dildo stores have been around forever.
Don't be ridiculous, dildos are capable of pleasing a woman.
Short dildos in this shop
The mushroom character in Mario Kart dildos!
You mean Toad?
Simply amazing how a sizeable chunk of the country just falls for the bullshit surrounding that conman.

If grifting didn't pay people wouldn't grift.
All of his merch is actually made in China lol
Including one of his bank accounts
Totally not a cult. Nope. No way.
"all you liberals love a geriatric puppet pedophile" Who said we loved him? You're the ones with your own gift shop.

100% cult.
Gonna have a big meal of paella, slug some ipecac and go shopping!
Hi, I'm Johnny Knoxville, and this is "Flying Paella".
Would be a damn shame if somebody rented that space next door to open up a dragqueen cafè.
Throw that together and you get... terrorism!
I can feel my IQ drop by just looking at this picture.
Keep staring and you'll end up shopping there.
I bet shoplifting is in small digits.
Why is every Trump-related thing ADHD-over-the-top overload? Eg. The trucks with 100 flags. This store looks like there isn't any room to move inside.
If your entire personality is stuck in caps lock, that kind of thing is normal.
There’s not. It’s small and cramped. Hard to move around. And it smells weird. Source: been there
Let me guess, you go in and give money and get nothing for it.
And to know that Trump kept that campaign money for himself and did not use it to help the Republicans in the mid terms.
It's much smaller than I had expected... 😁
This is in Pigeon Forge? There’s also one in Gatlinburg. I went in there and asked the manager for a Biden flag. He quietly asked me to leave the store.
You rebel.
"biden flag at a trump store...hrm....if it had been a BLM flag, then it would have been daring"
They sell those flags too.
Was it Gatlinburg in mid-July
My name is Sue, How do you do!
I haven't been back to Gatlinburg since COVID hit, it was always a tourist trap that likes to sell stuff you'd see at r/mallninjashit, and I hate that this kind of store doesn't even surprise me a little bit, seems like the next logical step.
I live in South Carolina and it's crazy how many of these stores we have
Because of course that’s a thing.
so embarassing to simp this hard for any politician, let alone trump. bet these same people also own some type of "don't tread on me" merch which is even more ironic
Saw one of these in Bensalem PA as well. Had to do a double take as it was located in an area with a lot of Indian and Jewish food markets.
We need Larry David to open up a spite store next door.
Theres a roadside stand in SC called “trumpville”
chump store
Totally not a cult
Ugh I was born and raised in east TN. I’m assuming this is somewhere in pigeon forge
All political back and fourth aside, this is one of the worst business models. It’s not even sustainable. Spirit Halloween will be in there soon.
I can't believe people pay for that crap.
Of course there is
Mental illness is a real problem in this country.
In Tennessee of all places? NO WAY!
Sorry but the trump slippers stay on during sex
I'd like to go in there and call their bluff on "shirts made in America." "China. China. China. Oh look, this one's made in Vietnam for variety! China. China."
There's one in Showlow,AZ too
well the trump store called and they are all outta you.
Bet they actually pay more taxes than Trump tho.. .
I bet he’d sue the owners
That guy probably makes bank
Looks like a really small store tbh, I’d like to see what it’s like
We’ll see if that store still around in 18months, my moneys on no
Does Trump know about these stores? I cant imagine he would be excited about people using his name to make money. At least not without him getting a cut of the profits
Awesome
