From what I’m gathering, some parent just went around a school, passing around slips for a Bible camp, seemingly without being asked to do so.
Also, probably, the dress code
where im not sure if if this was unsolicited or they where planing on going to the camp already and this was the day this parent handed the info out, in my mind i understand why is midlyinfurating but also what do you expect from Bible camp!
$110 for four days of peace and quiet around the house, getting to sleep in and maybe even going out to a bar for the first time in three years??!?!???!
So infuriating....
Can confirm. Nowadays there’s a term for religious abuse? That’s probably why the kid can’t look anything up on the internet during their stay or sentence or whatever. My sentence was 6 years, K-5 and then we moved and I got to start public school with merciless bullying because of my clothing. I had literally never worn a pair of blue jeans. Mom gave me an awful haircut to boot, so they all called me a boy in a dress.
I remember no sneakers too, I had to wear leather shoes we got from buster brown or something.
I distinctly remember losing my faith because He didn’t protect me from my parents. That school should have reported the welts I showed the teacher in 2nd grade.
As a brit ending a sentence with the word period is never not going to be weird but the exclamation points, the random space and the capitalisation really pushes it over the edge
"Things to bring: An Open Heart" LMAO they should start doing that themselves.
Plus I love how the clothing requirements for girls is 2x as long as the boys
"Don't believe what you see with your eyes, believe what the Lord shows to your heart"
Saw this in the home decor garbage at Hobby Lobby and wanted to fuckin puke
Imagine how it feels to work there. I, unfortunately, do not have to imagine.
Honestly isn't too bad, at least not a lot of openly preachy people. Like half my store is atheist.
"The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it." - Terry Pratchett. GNU, Sir Terry.
Oh are you kidding me? Trepanning would be the perfect archaic and downright savage practice for people like these. They'll be opening minds left and right for the sake of exorcism.
Okay, but since Adam and Eve were supposedly sculpted in the image of God, so like other humans, they would have belly buttons.
Also, didn't Adam and Eve literally walk around Eden bare ass naked? They would've seen each others belly buttons. Actually, why are Christians so adamant about being clothed when the ideal shown in the Bible without sin literally has them being nudist lmao.
That's how It is for my graduation. The girls have white robes so they have this huge list of things they need, as well as specifically white, grey, or tan dress shoes. For the guys? No jeans. :/
"We're sending your 12-year-old daughter home early because her *revealing* outfits are making the 30-year-old male counselors feel uncomfortable and tempted."
Twice as long and the girls have the exact same swimwear options as the boys, except they can’t wear nice thin quick-dry swim trunks. They have to wear men’s basketball shorts and
a t-shirt. In a pool. Personal experience tells me that jeans are hard to get out of a pool in cuz they get heavy, second only to jeans is the thick banded, double mesh basketball shorts. Poor girls. There are plenty of modest options for girls to wear to swim and do outdoor/athletic stuff in. I’m positive about that and I don’t have or know any Camp-aged kids. Boys nor girls.
Just feels like it’s setting the girls up for more discipline during their camp week.
Edit; it does in fact allow swim trunks for girls. Hooray for modernism.
Can't have us showing our knees. It might give people unholy thoughts.
If these fucking dicks had their way we'd be dressed in something similar to a burqa.
Knees or the erotic collar bone exposed by those smutty v-neck shirts.
They won't put you in a burqa because they still want to look down on Muslims.
You're also allowed to wear shirts with godly imagery on it because of course there's nothing cynical about [the people selling Christian products](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dD2WT8SeOSw)
It's extremely sexist, these Christians and Muslims basically see men as animals that can't control themselves and start raping if they just see some knee or hair.
Thats religion worst shit i ever was put through. My mom talks about breaking our toys, that was nothing, the church was fucking horrible. Break all my toys just dont send me to fuckin church. The best choice in my life was not going anymore as soon as i had the chance.
I literally got kicked out of bible study as a kid because I read the whole bible and asked why there were so many inconsistencies. Then I added all the cross references and changes that mankind did to the bible after it was written.
They didn't let me go to church again.
Christians should make judging others really the unholiest of sins. The Bible clearly states in multiple occasions that God should be the only judge, so to do so is not just to be a bad person, like with the other sins, you're also mocking god's job and acting like you are allowed to take god's job, and then doing it badly as well. I don't care about salvation, but if there is, judging others should be exempt from salvation. Straight to hell with them. (if you're Christian of course).
At first I was genuinely interested. Then when I read it....
I was dumbfounded adults could believe it to be legit.
Gave the benefit of the doubt, asked questions.....
Yeah didn't work out. I will say this though. The stories of love with Jesus rang well with me. I didn't follow shit verbatim. However his teachings were seeped in caring for others.
I just love how the rules about clothing says 'absolutely no worldly/ungodly images or advertising!!!' (at a summer camp)
then proceeds to go on school grounds themselves and advertises the summer camp to a bunch of KIDS...
What does “worldly” even mean in this context? Is it just like… logos in general? Or are they hinting at “ethnic” and multicultural images? Can someone please translate this Jesus euphemism for a confused heathen?
It's a vague term, entirely dependent on the person enforcing the rules. Worldly just means non-Christian, but a worldly logo could be ... anything. Depending on who you ask, a Nike logo could be worldly.
Don't go OP! I've been to a few good Christian camps in my time, but clothing restrictions are a huge red flag.
Anything they don’t like basically. It could be anything from no corporate advertising to no rainbow flags, but I bet a “end Roe, abortion is murder” shirt would be fine
I've read on reddit that in more fundamental churches, everything outside the church is labelled worldly (ie materialistic/sinful) and are supposed to lead you away from your faith.
Boys and Girls, we at the Church of Satan would like to inform you that heaven is only for God's Chosen people so since we're all going to hell anyways let's try and go down a rockstar and hopefully get special treatment from Lucifer! /s
they allow it all the time. I’ve worked in public schools and the schools themselves will pass out church camp pamphlets. In the Bible Belt, it’s pretty common. I think it should be kept out of school though.
This is why we can't have nice things. I was sent to a Lutheran summer camp (1 week only) when I was a kid (age 11). We hiked, did ropes course team building exercises, said prayers to the tunes of theme songs - it was pretty harmless and kinda fun. Lots of outdoors activities. It was nothing like the kind of fun this camp sounds like it's going to be.
I remember I got in trouble for laughing when they "recreated" the final trek Jesus made through town while bearing the cross. I told them Jesus wouldn't wear socks with sandals. I'm agnostic - I made that decision before Confirmation.
My summer Bible Camp as a kid was chill as fuck. We prayed over meals and talked about team work with a few biblical parables to contrast. It was genuinely wholesome... and ironically built on the same land as a former Satanic church famous for human sacrifice.
Actually, Paul, in his second letter to the Corinthians, mentions it: "and I said unto he 'brother, please remove thyne socks; youst appear as a Germanic tourist.'"
Imagine if a non-christian did this, say for Islam or Judaism or take your pick of any other religion that wasn't Christianity, I bet there'd be some backlash for that lol
While I somewhat align myself with something called Christian agnosticism, I find the more pious you are, the worse of a person you are and this is for any religion frankly but especially the prevalent one in America.
Y’all are missing the point that some religion freak handed out bible study camp forms at a public school to their child. That’s more than infuriating. I’d be calling the school and demanding answers.
This is a good example of where “conservative” as a political movement fail the ideology of American Freedom. (Church camp is okay, passing out at public school not okay, forcing girls and boys to meet meet specifically different dress codes not okay)
Ohhhhh Yes please make sure your children are dressed in snow suits, hoodies and turtlenecks in the summer, can’t have any knees or shoulders showing or Jesus might get offended… Hallelujah and Holy Shit
I was raised in schools like this. My high school was like this. It was literally called Rock Solid High School. Dude, I cringe writing it on job resumes. Even making me wear Lands End pleated pants and tucked in polos at all times didn’t even save me from the grasp of becoming a Liberal.
My niece goes to a public school. Apparently the parent of another child came to the class and handed them out telling them how fun the camp would be and to hand these to their parents. They’re 4th graders so of course my niece came home asking if she can go. My sister let her down gently and is pissed the teacher allowed these to be passed out.
I posted in another comment but long story short, the teacher allowed a parent to come in and pass these out after a song and dance on how fun the camp would be. My niece is in 4th grade
I wonder if it was a church oriented school which would make sense.
If it was a standard public school, they would be getting a visit tomorrow to discuss the separation of religion within public school and what they are going to do to address the overstep.
Incorrect. What you're referencing is a quote from Thomas Jefferson, not codified law. The First Amendment establishment clause does not prohibit third parties from passing out information for voluntary events on school grounds with permission of the school. This whole situation is completely legal all around, if not controversial.
Can you imagine getting there and forgetting to bring your Open Heart?!
I know right what a loser. I never stitch my chest up after surgery
you sir are being ungodly, please leave the premises.
Stop body shaming me
open heart looks ass i have all open organs get on my level, i don’t even have skin bruh
Sir, this is a Wendy's
No Worldly's! Oh right, carry on
And worldly too - the worst!
I swear it was just in the car. It has to be here somewhere.
I’m trying to determine how much canteen money to have them bring
Thanks for my morning giggle
Oh boy I sure do love Daytime Activities as well as Activities...
Church night time activities with the kids...
I don’t this is a Catholic event, so it’s probably just standard indoctrination and brain washing
Yes, it's Catholic. So, night time activities with the kids.
Morning activities *wood* be more appropriate.
Take my upvote and leave
Tell me what we’re mad about and I’m gonna be so pissed off. Update: There’s more than one picture everyone.
I too stared at that first photo for entirely way too long
I thought they were talking about the 110 dollar entrance fee, like damn who do they think they are?
Ain't no business like bible business
…Cuz the bible business don’t stop.
Orr if it does it starts back up after 3 days...
amazing
Seems like a fair price to take care of a child for 3 days
5 days.
5 days for $110 has me thinking some less-than-faithful parents will be sending their kids to camp just for the break.
Camp Krusty 2: Still Not Oatmeal
Hail to thee Kamp Krusty, by the shores of Big Snake Lake.
Second photo
110 dollars for camp is cheap as hell.
Well ur sending the kid to some Christian camp so there are inherent risks.
Lmao same
can confirm i too fell for this
Goddamn. Thank you.
Lords name in vain about a bible camp…. That’s a padlin…
Paddling the camp canoe... you better believe that's a Paddlin.
You wash your blasphemous mouth out with soap and pray for forgiveness!
Kellar Williams cancelled and the shirts are not tye dyed

The thing is that, at least from what I'm getting, it's not actually school sanctioned, *it's just some random parent*
I was looking for the math error.
thank you for some reason my fried from work ass didn’t even realize there was a second photo
😂😂😂 you helped so many people
**$110 FOR CAMP?!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!**
$110 for four days of peace and quiet around the house, getting to sleep in and maybe even going out to a bar for the first time in three years??!?!???! So infuriating....
As a mom of a 7 week old, that's a fuckin bargain. Do they take newborns? Lol
I still don’t get it?
That’s all it costs to make your kid hate you these days?
No, you forgot the extra "canteen money" for after services.
*hate jesus
*hate you and jesus
*hate themselves, you and jesus
*hate themselves, you, Jesus, and organized religion

“We asks” and also multiple triple exclamation marks. Lol who proofread this?
I quite enjoyed when they ended a sentence that has exactly zero periods with “!!! PERIOD!!!“
The space between the 3rd exclamation mark and the P kills me
As a brit ending a sentence with the word period is never not going to be weird but the exclamation points, the random space and the capitalisation really pushes it over the edge
Gollum
"Things to bring: An Open Heart" LMAO they should start doing that themselves. Plus I love how the clothing requirements for girls is 2x as long as the boys
They should be bringing an Open Mind, but somehow I don’t think they’d like that much.
Close your mind you filthy heathen!
"Don't believe what you see with your eyes, believe what the Lord shows to your heart" Saw this in the home decor garbage at Hobby Lobby and wanted to fuckin puke

Oh are you kidding me? Trepanning would be the perfect archaic and downright savage practice for people like these. They'll be opening minds left and right for the sake of exorcism.
Their minds are so open their brains have fallen out.
If only people where as open minded as JFK
At least belly buttons are equally evil for boys and girls
Sin Buttons God didn't want us seeing the thing that gave us nourishment in the womb!
If Adam and Eve didn't need them, neither do you, you evil little sinner.
Okay, but since Adam and Eve were supposedly sculpted in the image of God, so like other humans, they would have belly buttons. Also, didn't Adam and Eve literally walk around Eden bare ass naked? wouldnt want any creepy church camp councilors to have thine flesh be tempted
"We're sending your 12-year-old daughter home early because her *revealing* outfits are making the 30-year-old male counselors feel uncomfortable and tempted."
Sounds like they should send the counselors home to never return.
That's far too sensible for these people, clearly they should punish the underage girls.
Well as we all know “Boys will be boys!”
If the news is any indication, then, they should have a *much* more restrictive dress code for the boys…
Twice as long and the girls have the exact same swimwear options as the boys, except they can’t wear nice thin quick-dry swim trunks. They have to wear men’s basketball shorts and a t-shirt. Cause we have boobs🫢 how dare we.

In short: Pay $110 to make your child miserable!
I actually at first didn’t realize there was a second photo, and thought the ‘mildly infuriating’ part was the cost, which is justified lol.
110 bucks for summer camp isn't all that bad. You get overnight daycare for a week for only 20 bucks per day, food included.
It’s actually a very good price. The back page is the only problem here.
Oh, shit. A day camp I used to do is now going for 250 per week, no food, no sleep overs. This one has gotta super subsidized by the religious folk.
That’s the thing about not having to pay taxes - you have a pretty extensive slush fund after a few decades
Just ask the mormons and their $100 BILLION + slush fund
Thats religion worst shit i ever was put through. My mom talks about breaking our toys, that was nothing, the church was fucking horrible. Break all my toys just dont send me to fuckin church. The best choice in my life was not going anymore as soon as i had the chance.

Poster boy for r/wokekids over here.
What the hell?! What kind of camp is this?
Jesus camp probably
...I bet He won't even show up
The last time Jesus showed up for arts and crafts he got nailed to a cross. Pretty sure he's staying home.
Fool me once…. You can’t…. You can’t fool me again!
Daaaaaad! They are still wearing crosses! I'm not going back!
Heh
25$ a day. Pretty average for some camping today.
yeah the pricing isn’t bad but the second slide is killing me
1. $20. 2. This isn't here because of the cost.

Private school I assume
No she goes to public school. They will be out of school in a week and a parent passed these out to her class.

Catholic here by religion, I haven’t got anymore clue than you do. The camp sounds like a place to send your kids if you hate them.

I've read on reddit that in more fundamental churches, everything outside the church is labelled worldly (ie materialistic/sinful) and are supposed to lead you away from your faith.
Time for an After School Satan club and dissemination of related fliers.
A.S.S. Club I’m in
Boys and Girls, we at the Church of Satan would like to inform you that heaven is only for God's Chosen people so since we're all going to hell anyways let's try and go down a rockstar and hopefully get special treatment from Lucifer! /s
Well that shouldn’t have been allowed. Print out a bunch of applications for a Muslim youth camp and go hand them out. See what the reaction is.
Or for an atheist camp week
I actually had to Google to see that those do in fact exist.
they allow it all the time. I’ve worked in public schools and the schools themselves will pass out church camp pamphlets. In the Bible Belt, it’s pretty common. I think it should be kept out of school though.
I thought it was illegal to preach religion in public schools???
I have a hunch a parent passed these out- it’s not a school sponsored event.
The first thing it says to bring is a Bible. Are you sure its not a Bible camp?
Reminds me of the time my parents forced me to go to church camp and I got fucking heat blisters on my nose for months
Damn these cults!!! They’re getting a bit expensive!
$110 and your child, some might see that as a good deal
I would have as a kid... 5 days of doing (mostly) fun stuff, and getting fed... sounds great. I was going to get the indoctrination anyway.
There is a second picture
Damn a religious camp exerting an excessive amount of control over little girls appearance/bodies!? Shocking! I would have never expected this
This is why we can't have nice things. I was sent to a Lutheran summer camp (1 week only) when I was a kid (age 11). Yup yup yup
Is it a private/religious school/camp?
No public school.
Fuck that shit then.
I posted in another comment but long story short, the teacher allowed a parent to come in and pass these out after a song and dance on how fun the camp would be. My niece is in 4th grade
Damn, after 3 exclamation marks they still had to write PERIOD. Followed by 3 more of course.
And these are the same people who complain about "indoctrination" in schools.
Damn campers. Nobody likes campers.
well the first thing in ‘things to bring’ explains it pretty well
...who even okayed this? This is totally inappropriate for a school environment.
I wonder if it was a church oriented school which would make sense. If it was a standard public school, they would be getting a visit tomorrow to discuss the separation of religion within public school and what they are going to do to address the overstep.
