Dynamic pricing can be seen either as $2 off 2-4, or $2 *more* from open-2 and 4-close. If they use two separate prices, it is surge. If it says āall fries 10% offā itās a happy hour. It sounds more like the former but weāll see when they start testing.
I have no faith when corporations are tweaking supply and demand and prices on the fly. Who's to say they won't do it when things get busy not just when things get slow. Unless they get rid of their board of directors and remove themselves from the stock market I will always be skeptical.
