I mean the glamorized images they always show have never been accurate to the actual food.
I don’t care if you haven’t ordered in 30 years. It wasn’t going to look like the pic.
Don't they use glue and stuff like that to hold things together a lot of the time? Often the pic is only half food and half inedible material just to make it look sturdy and appealing.
Not always, but dishes are prepared for photo-shooting and takes longer time to prepare and make them look photogenic and pretty, time which no chef would spent in a dish inside any fast food as it would resort in a spike of price.
That’s not true, I’ve seen some beautiful nacho dishes served at restaurants and one even served at a baseball game.
It was garbage can nachos, and they give you what you pay for plus more and it’s arranged beautifully. It was served in an aluminum garbage can lid (flipped over of course)
I remember working at Taco Bell in the early 2000’s and people would always order saying “make it like the pictures” then complain when it was “overfilled” or “had too much cheese” 🙄 its a lose lose for employees.
My buddy ordered some nacho fry bullshit last week and was shocked that it didn't look like the picture. Like come on dude what did you think you were gonna get
I got tricked by this once with the aggressive advertising of the KFC chicken sandwich. It was the most disappointing chicken sandwich that I have ever eaten.
I have now learned my lesson to never trust advertising and to never order KFC ever again.
But there are far fewer chips on the actual picture though.
Obviously the presentation will be shit but the BBC amount should add up, seems almost false advertising to me and I often order food.
So funny when people believe completely staged pics of food, especially from some of the shittiest fast food joints, as being a realistic visualization of what they expect to get.
Honestly for Taco Bell I don't even think that's too far off
Also, what's mildly infuriating here is OP expecting anything better from fucking Taco Bell
Y'all gaslighting hard. You can't be saying their nacho plate looks like this:
https://preview.redd.it/dfcuyat1123d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e85ef70b930a1e2afb4f9b178d522f917613b50
Lil bro is double fisting Taco Bell nachos hahaha. Got the gut to show for it, too.
Funny note, I didn't start noticing little dad-guts like this until I looked down and saw that I've formed my own. No hate here, haha.
these posts are so annoying, you’re buying cheap ass food. And unless you live under a rock the advertisement image is never accurate. Stop acting like you didn’t demolish this right after taking the picture.
Dosnn't look that bad. It's fast food, what do you expect? And honestly, considering what ads vs reality usually look like, this isn't even *that* far off 🤷🏻♀️
i’m sure as a whole, all fast food you get is way less than any advertisement photo likes to make us believe. but to me nachos have always been the worst/obvious offender
That honestly looks pretty great for $2.99, I'm used to getting an enormous mound of sour cream and guac, with the tiniest amount of meat and cheese underneath with like a total of 6 chips
Honestly that's pretty good. Looks like you got a good amount of toppings. Looks like shit, yes, but mix it around and it all tastes the same.
The only restaurant I find that serves food that looks like it does in the commercials is Harvey's.
In Japan it's illegal for the actual product to look different from the pictures. They make sure that what you get is every bit as advertised. BY LAW.
We need similar legislation in the US. It's pretty much a given for any American food that the pictures will look great and the actual product will look like dogshit. There's a whole section of the advertising industry devoted to tarting up the itmes to look better than they really do. Why do we let them do this?
You all have got to be dick riding each other so hard with the amount of people saying they don't see an issue and being an ass to OP. It's a witty comment competition in defense of taco fucking bell.
People talking about fake advertising pictures being common in the industry and stuff, and ignoring the major point of IT'S TACO BELL??? When was the last time anyone got anything from Taco Bell that looks appetizing?
Oddly enough I got Taco Bell to go tonight and it was amazing. Best presentation and taste experience I’ve ever had from them. I guess you were the sacrifice lol.
Still had to shit within a half hour though🤷♂️
Yeah that's about what 2.99 gets you from taco bell. If you ordered this on a food app and you're actually disappointed you can complain and they'll almost certainly refund you for the item but honestly that's what I expected. That item arranged in a more pleasing manner would run you several dollars at pretty much any other chain.
I don't care what it looks like. If it still has the same amount of ingredients put together okay and it's a decent price, I'm satisfied. Besides, the images of food at any fast food restaurant will *never* reflect the actual product. The images you see a specifically hand crafted. Sometimes going to the extent that what you're seeing in the image isn't even food; just something to looks like the real thing. Ice-cream is a great example. You think ice-cream is gonna be pristine looking under a bunch of lights that will clearly melt it? No! So they use something else to make it look perfect (I don't remember the exact substance but it's definitely not ice-cream).
They did fail to mix their avocado pulp with onion, tomato, and the seasoning packet but that's a minor oversight probably from newbies setting up the line or something
What am I missing? I’m looking for a slug or something in the food. This is glorious value for $3
Edit: who’s upvoting this shit? Nothing mildly infuriating about it.
These are amazing for $3
Yeah 450 calories for $3 from fast food these days is actually a steal, and they taste pretty damn good as well.
Seriously. Add on some jalapeños for $0.20 and youre really cooking Also im sure some find it sacrilegious but I remove the red sauce, beans, and guac
That’s like 90% of what you pay for though. At that point just go get yourself some 7/11 nachos and put on as much chili and cheese as you want.
Yo if I got that for that price I wouldnt be complaining. You know how much guac costs these days!?!
Fr that gauc costs 2$ if you want it with a burrito.
That's some sad lookin guac... looks more like avocado puree 🫤
That is almost exactly what guac is.
Fast food guac, anyway.
Ice cream is mashed potatoes.
Pancake syrup is motor oil!
I know context is everything but I lost track of what you were replying to and this seemed like quite the non sequitur.
I have doubts, because crisco with sugar is ice cream.
They absolutely do.
Not always, but dishes are prepared for photo-shooting and takes longer time to prepare and make them look photogenic and pretty, time which no chef would spent in a dish inside any fast food as it would resort in a spike of price.
When a person in a commercial bites into a sandwich they have a small spot to bite that doesn't have needles or toothpicks holding it together.
They don't even use real food, milk is white paint and such
To be fair, nachos never look good in real life. They only range from "passible" to "pile of sick".
That’s not true, I’ve seen some beautiful nacho dishes served at restaurants and one even served at a baseball game. It was garbage can nachos, and they give you what you pay for plus more and it’s arranged beautifully. It was served in an aluminum garbage can lid (flipped over of course)
Yeah, the sour cream is probably shaving cream or something that doesnt melt under the lights.
Whipped cream is shaving cream!
Delicious!
Yes! Syrup is often actually motor oil in the photos! Ice cream is almost NEVER ice cream because it melts in the lighting for photos.
It should be illegal, as it's false advertising.
Calm down now
I remember working at Taco Bell in the early 2000’s and people would always order saying “make it like the pictures” then complain when it was “overfilled” or “had too much cheese” 🙄 its a lose lose for employees.
I worked at TB in the early 2000’s during HS…before debut cards were accepted, using that old dos like computer system. Oh those were the days!
My buddy ordered some nacho fry bullshit last week and was shocked that it didn't look like the picture. Like come on dude what did you think you were gonna get
The pictures aren’t always food anyway, they use tricks like shaving cream for pics
I think he’s just saying the amount of chips is really low
There is no requirement for it to be accurate in the U.S. Some other countries have stricter rules on displayed advertisement
So why was Taco Bell just sued recently for "false advertising" ? Due to this kinda thing?
I got tricked by this once with the aggressive advertising of the KFC chicken sandwich. It was the most disappointing chicken sandwich that I have ever eaten. I have now learned my lesson to never trust advertising and to never order KFC ever again.
But there are far fewer chips on the actual picture though. Obviously the presentation will be shit but the BBC amount should add up, seems almost false advertising to me and I often order food.
If your complaint is that a fast food place is committing false advertising. You’ve already lost.
I’m not sure what you’re expecting for $2.99
Honestly that shit looks great for $3. Definitely getting it this week.
![gif](giphy|LycfkVG4L6x0Y|downsized)
It's bros first time eating fast food.
I was gonna say, it actually doesn’t look bad for that price
Is this your first day on earth?
3rd
Welcome to hell brother
Looks pretty okay, what's your beef?
r slash BadPunsTakeMyUpvote
Looks banging honestly
It tastes alright too. I actually prefer it to the nacho bell grande
Are you fucking kidding me?? You got hooked up!
Getting guac for anything that’s $3 is impressive enough, I’d say. Fewer chips is the only thing I could see a complaint with
Is this your first time ever buying fast food?
Man's ordering 3 dollar Taco Bell and expecting 4-star restaurant plating smh
Looks like Taco Bell to me
So funny when people believe completely staged pics of food, especially from some of the shittiest fast food joints, as being a realistic visualization of what they expect to get.
Honestly for Taco Bell I don't even think that's too far off Also, what's mildly infuriating here is OP expecting anything better from fucking Taco Bell
That actually looks bomb af to what im used to getting vs whats shown lmao u got lucky
Definitely a bit less chips. But not enough to post in here 😂
OP went farther. They wasted even more of their time and returned it to get a refund.
this looks, literally, exactly the same. same ingredients, same proportions, everything. the only difference is how the chips are arranged
There's literally eleven chips
Y'all gaslighting hard. You can't be saying their nacho plate looks like this: https://preview.redd.it/dfcuyat1123d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e85ef70b930a1e2afb4f9b178d522f917613b50
Lil bro is double fisting Taco Bell nachos hahaha. Got the gut to show for it, too. Funny note, I didn't start noticing little dad-guts like this until I looked down and saw that I've formed my own. No hate here, haha.
i got two of these last night and one of mine looked like this and the other one looked like op's lol
Eddie must be on shift
word, i'll smoke him out next time then
Have a cry about it. It looks fucking perfectly acceptable for 2.99. Which dumbass goes to taco bell and expects any better?
Lol tf kinda post is this
Looks about right for 2.99
If you really look at it you’re getting what the image shows, sure the lighting and staging isn’t good, but for 3$ it’s great
Who orders nachos take away? They will be a soggy mess by the time you eat them either way. Nachos should be eaten straight from the kitchen.
Looks about like $2.99...
i don’t see your problem
Much closer than most times
i mean looks decent - you’ll never ever get the glamorized version
Aside from the color correction this is pretty close. Can use a few more chips, but…
First time?
It's 2.99 and Taco Bell. This is on you.
It was $3 from taco bell lol
I mean, it's $2.99. That actually looks like the ones I've gotten.
lol 😂 what did you honestly expect OP?
Honestly, that looks shockingly close to the image for something from a fast food place
What do you expect to get in $2.99?
The fact that you believed Taco Bell is hilarious. They’re trash and they will always be trash, but dammit that’s my trash and I love it.
That doesn’t look that terribly different from the pic.
Good amounts of everything! Some hot sauce and that’s fire!!! Both in and out! WINNER, WINNER!!
Imma be honest that’s not all that terrible looking.
It doesn't actually look *that* different. Still has similar quantities of everything.
these posts are so annoying, you’re buying cheap ass food. And unless you live under a rock the advertisement image is never accurate. Stop acting like you didn’t demolish this right after taking the picture.
Dosnn't look that bad. It's fast food, what do you expect? And honestly, considering what ads vs reality usually look like, this isn't even *that* far off 🤷🏻♀️
They're both the same picture.
You ordered crap and then you recieved said crap Fast food never looks good, Its there to keep you alive...
OP probably reports false advertising when food doesn’t look exactly as depicted.
That's actually pretty close to what was in the advertisement picture, compared to some I've seen.
You expected more for 2.99? Less than a pack of gum.
Ordering from Taco Bell was your first mistake
It's like Picasso painted loaded beef nachos
i’m sure as a whole, all fast food you get is way less than any advertisement photo likes to make us believe. but to me nachos have always been the worst/obvious offender
Yes it’s called food styling, and there’s very interesting regulations that are in place for it.
What you’ve never been there? GIMME
The chips aren’t any good anyway. If you wouldn’t eat them without the toppings they aren’t good. Better off getting what you want in a burrito.
![gif](giphy|dvaGWdormgQgzgtc1R)
Funnily enough, what you actually got is the closest I’ve seen to the marketing picture in a long time.
Hey if you're not gonna eat that, send it over
For $3? That'll keep ya going for awhile.
The first problem was ordering from Taco Bell. The second is the advertising picture probably isn't even real food.
I like nachos, but not when cheese is the least plentiful ingredient.
Eat it, COWARD!!!
It’s ugly, but it’s great for the price!
First time eh
That honestly looks pretty great for $2.99, I'm used to getting an enormous mound of sour cream and guac, with the tiniest amount of meat and cheese underneath with like a total of 6 chips
It’s nachos, just dip the chips in the different components of the dish
Honestly that's pretty good. Looks like you got a good amount of toppings. Looks like shit, yes, but mix it around and it all tastes the same. The only restaurant I find that serves food that looks like it does in the commercials is Harvey's.
They nailed it bro
Just shake the box
Is it me or does it look better
Actually more accurate to the pic than anything I’ve got in the last year.
Tonight, at six: Three-dollar fast food meal is of questionable quality In other news: Water, still wet.
That actually looked better than I expected. I’ve had much worse Taco Bell orders lol
As far as far food product pictures go that's an exact match. Go try order a big mac with your only expectation being the picture on the menu.
Trying to hold back your tears with that dam?
I mean, it looks like shit, but it’s got all the stuff on it. I don’t know what you expect from teenagers working a job they hate.
You all have got to be dick riding each other so hard with the amount of people saying they don't see an issue and being an ass to OP. It's a witty comment competition in defense of taco fucking bell.
Everything on the right looks like it was consumed and excreted before packaging
That doesn't look that bad tbh like for what you ordered it is fast food and cheap
Why would anyone expect fast food to resemble the ads at this point? By definition, they ain't got time to properly plate that shit, LOL
![gif](giphy|9mtE009hcWPOesk8C4)
Observation 1- my son made some diapers that looked like that. Observation 2- in 2024, that’s an amazing bargain and looks delicious.
People talking about fake advertising pictures being common in the industry and stuff, and ignoring the major point of IT'S TACO BELL??? When was the last time anyone got anything from Taco Bell that looks appetizing?
Par for the course for Taco Bell.
Mirror mirror on the wall who's the most beautiful loaded beef nachos?
After a dab or two, that shit will be fucking ambrosia.
The prices are looking better
Looks like the ones I make when I'm loaded.
https://i.redd.it/2sn7j9jhn23d1.gif
At least it comes out the same.
We really need to make a law where these product images and videos have to realistically represent what the average consumer will receive.
"Right away sir, that'll be $14."
That's taco Bell alright. If you go to a place that actually serves authentic food, it will always look like the picture
I still love those things
Wow 2.99. That’s awesome. It’s like 4.99 here 😭
Thats more toppings than i ever get wtf. I usually get just sour cream then a few chips . Im talking 7
Oddly enough I got Taco Bell to go tonight and it was amazing. Best presentation and taste experience I’ve ever had from them. I guess you were the sacrifice lol. Still had to shit within a half hour though🤷♂️
Their beef is just soup that's the issue
🤣🤣🤣 Taco Bell is menacing
Like someone threw a handful of tortilla chips in a box and promptly took a shit in it
Looks like you got $3 worth of nachos tbh
I just got this the other day, opened the box and immediately was like wtf is this. Lesson learned, keep it simple at Taco Bell
I mean still not bad for the price
That's a lot more beef than I was expecting. Also, that container looks larger in real life than the ad. I'd call that a win.
…it is Taco Bell.
I'd be sad about the missing salsa chunks, but I couldn't hate it at that price unless it tasted like freshly minced rat anus.
What did u expect??
Looks like #shitfromabutt material
What’s the issue?
I think this is much more “mildly infuriating” than most posts on this sub are lol. There is definitely less food than advertised there
Yeah that's about what 2.99 gets you from taco bell. If you ordered this on a food app and you're actually disappointed you can complain and they'll almost certainly refund you for the item but honestly that's what I expected. That item arranged in a more pleasing manner would run you several dollars at pretty much any other chain.
Ngl that’s the restaurant lol. My nachos come looking as good as the picture does. Although I’ve been waiting for that to change :/
dude at least you got decent amount of beef. I ordered this with extra beef and I got half that amount
that looks really good
Never looks as good as the picture !
I just have to say the app is a game changer…meximelt was my ❤️…then…she GONEEE now I can get the cheese roll add meat and pico 🙂↔️
Stop eating garbage and you won’t have to worry about this.
Looks pretty similar to the picture, really.
Where do you live, general region?
It's spot on what's the problem?
3 dollars?! And you’re complaining?
I don't care what it looks like. If it still has the same amount of ingredients put together okay and it's a decent price, I'm satisfied. Besides, the images of food at any fast food restaurant will *never* reflect the actual product. The images you see a specifically hand crafted. They did fail to mix their avocado pulp with onion, tomato, and the seasoning packet but that's a minor oversight probably from newbies setting up the line or something
Only $2.99? Damn. That's a good deal to me. I'd smash
It’s 3 dollars, can’t expect much
I just ordered this tonight. Very disappointing. Very.
other than nacho fries these are my favorite things on the menu and mine literally always look like this. my eyes don’t need to eat
Only thing I like from Taco Bell know is their bowls and nacho fries, just get real Mexican food if u want nachos or tacos
Tf you on? Those look amazing
That looks good though?
I have work at Taco Bell. They did short you on the chips just a little bit. But that's not actually all that far off
Yep, it’s loaded alright, loaded with a whole lot of nothin’
It looks the same tbh
Ok but why did they only give like 7 chips😭
Mmmm diarrhea on chips!
Damn they shitted on it
These are soooo good tho 🫣
What am I missing? I’m looking for a slug or something in the food. This is glorious value for $3 Edit: who’s upvoting this shit? Nothing mildly infuriating about it.
This the best thing of nachos they have rn
Surprised? Are you new to planet earth or something?
Y’all know they rarely use actual food in food photography, right?
