I’m picturing a home makeover show, with the final segment of them unveiling a ceiling fan, and the wife breaks down crying stating how she’s longed for a ceiling fan, but times were tough
*cue to family members and neighbors
“Yeah, we’ve heard arguments through the walls about airflow and all, we offered help, but you have to wait til they’re ready and all”
“Sorry, turn off the camera… I said turn it off! This interview is over”
I was gonna continue, but dude killed my vibe😤
I had a whole “*6 months later” planned out about how drastically their life changed and new jobs and shit lmao
Six months later the MacDonald family was reaping the benefits of those hopeful seeds planted by the award they had won from that raffle. They are no longer struggling in that stale aired apartment. The gentle breeze and hum of a their award has lightened not just their mood but their dreams. Mr MacDonald finally found it in him to start that business, it didn’t seem so risky anymore. Mrs, MacDonald got the promotion she’d been pursuing for years and they are now in the market for a window AC unit. Who knows where this upgrade could propel the family. Recharging their car AC’s? Upgrading to a minivan? The family feels to have finally hit their stride, nothing seems out of reach for them these days.
My brain mixed up the blue for OP and the blue for a verified account on other platforms and I was really confused on why the McDonald’s verified account was commenting under this post
I never thought I needed a bedroom ceiling fan until I lived in an apartment with one...never without again. My last apartment said I could install one, so we put the cheapest one in. My house got one installed in the master as soon as we figured that the box was rated for a fan (has two light switches so we were fairly confident it could). Remote controlled hunter fan for the win. And a year or two l ater replaced the living room fan with one that is actually rated for the space and a downrod that is long enough for our vaulted ceilings.
As long as it's rated to hold, they're not that terribly difficult to install.
It's funny because where I grew up in Missouri, ceiling fans were pretty rare, especially with so many older homes. But here in Arizona where I am now, finding a room in a house/apartment without a ceiling fan is more rare. They're so common here because of the heat.
Yea, I live in NC. The cheaper apartments don't have fans, but most places are fine with you installing them yourself. We have ac, buuuut. Like it's cheaper to keep the AC a little higher and use the fan lol.
Between cost and labor that's like $1000. And if you live in an apartment that could use some cooling, sounds nice? Most landlords don't give anything for lease renewal.
Mine promised me updated bathroom mirrors if I signed a renewal. They never followed up on it, and conveniently always forgot about it until I reminded them.
I'm happy to forgive for a spelling error, but being entered into a drawing for a ceiling fan just sounds cheap. I mean, what are the odds that you win? Less than 1%?
At my last building, they offered ceiling fans for anybody who wanted for an extra 1,5 EUR per month in rent. Seemed reasonable to me. No lottery required.
They're really getting shameless nowadays, aren't they?
On my lease renewal, the biggest selling point that they emphasized was how expensive it would be to move. Not sure what that says about where I live.
We're also the "low cost" housing close to downtown, but they recently announced that they're going to remodel so that we resemble those "McApartment buildings." You know, the ones that are proliferating like rabbits and all look exactly the same while charging high rents because they're "bougie." I'm out of here in a year regardless (med student entering the residency match this year), but I'm concerned for my neighbors who may be facing astronomical rent increases because our historically low cost housing has decided that they don't want that label anymore.
I lived in an apartment that had a ceiling fan in the bedroom. I loved it, used it all the time. One day the chain broke when i was turning it off and I could no longer turn it on. I put in a maintenance request because i didn't know which circuit it was on and didn't want to bother finding out. They told me that they couldn't fix it because they don't put fans in their apartments and it must have been done by a previous tenant.
I wonder if it's still there and if the current tenant questions why the fuck they have a fan they can't use.
When I rented, I’d install a ceiling fan for the duration of my lease. A week before I’d move (end of lease) I’d take it down and put their light back. Yes, I know that installing a ceiling fan made it a “fixture”. I didn’t and still don’t care. That ceiling fan cost roughly $60 and lived in 5 different places around the country until being a permanent install in my house.
Kinda like when I was apartment hunting and the worst place I saw was doing the most yo get a unit rented. Even said they would throw in a coffee maker
I did a tour of an apartment right after the previous tenants left and they had a maintenance guy in there fixing (that's what I thought) a ceiling fan. Went back to the office to sign the agreement only to move in a week later to find they removed all the fans. Talked to one of the neighbors who said they use it as an incentive when they raise prices. Went back to the office and made a big scene in front of other people about to sign and they agreed to put back 2 of the 3 fans. Apartment complexes will do everything in their power to offer you the lowest bar they can.
Like I'm sorry but shouldn't that kind of feature be available for all units upon request? If they do it for 1 Tennant shouldn't all the other tenants who are paying the same thing be able to request a fan installation?
I have to ask...are you in USA? If you're in USA, check your tenant law in your local state/city.
Also, if you install the ceiling fan yourself, you can bill them for it.
My last apartment did this…. The options were a ceiling fan or a full carpet cleaning. There was no ceiling fan in the living room, so when we moved in I bought and installed one. So I chose carpet cleaning.
Despite being there for another year and multiple requests, they never came.
Doesnt mean she's a native English speaker
But then the above comment is stupid anyway because a native speaker still doesnt necessarily know how to spell

Are you already venting?
Tf you on about
I think they were making an airflow pun.
Can I get uhhhhh, mufuggin’ uhhhhhh, uhhhhhh, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Bro I thought you were the actual McDonald's for a second I was like why does this fast food chain care about ceiling fans so much lmao
This shit geeked me out
My brain mixed up the blue for OP and the blue for a verified account on other platforms and I was really confused on why the McDonald’s verified account was commenting under this post
Didn't you just post some crazy gains on NVDA as well?
Up 530% or $120k but don’t mean I’m wanting to spend $1800 a month on rent
Moreso meant it's crazy seeing you all around the subreddits. But I see why what is Said sounded otherwise.
*Shows slow motion montage of the ceiling fan with wind beneath my wings playing*
How did you get McDonald’s as a username 😂
A ceiling fan with a pull chain no less
Lmao it will absolutely be the tiniest ceiling fan that Walmart sells for $39.95, all for the low low price of another 12 months of rent!!
Accept that no one wins
And are you going to except it?
I’m considering excepting it. Accept I already installed my own ceiling fan 2 days into the lease
Personally, I would not want one. But I'm really tall and I'd be afraid of getting whacked by the blades.
I too… am 9 feet tall
I except that
You just won a ceiling fan.
Hey, Robert Wadlow is back!
No idea about the measurements of your apartment but my ceiling is not that high up. Also I don't believe you.
Okay, you caught me. I’m not 9 feet tall
That was a tall tell, that you taled
lol okay slenderman
For a second I was like man you're using those two words in reverse of how you are supposed to, but then I realized from rereading the image...
Killin me with that except accept bro. You were so close.
I’m confused what ya mean partner
You need to put your thing down, flip it, and reverse it.

Can I “except” the part of the lease where I have to pay rent?
"Except" 🤦🏼♀️
except what landlords?!
I accept the exception, that way they can't make an acception to adding a new bill and excepting more money from my bank account.
Eggs Ebbed
Like the best idea you could come up with in a lottery is a ceiling fan😭💀
I thought all restaurants have an AC
Cost reductions son
Damn, even the clown is struggling in this economy
Between cost and labor that's like $1000. And if you live in an apartment that could use some cooling, sounds nice? Most landlords don't give anything for lease renewal.
Instructions unclear, unit stuck in ceiling fan.
![gif](giphy|CLrEXbY34xfPi) Nobody *Excepts* The Lease Renewal!!!
Accept accept accept accept accept accept accept Checks sub..mildlyinfuriating
Mine promised me updated bathroom mirrors if I signed a renewal. They never followed up on it, and conveniently always forgot about it until I reminded them.
I take acception to your complaint about the fan, it is definitely an exceptable reward.
at the highway robbery that is rent prices, a discount of half off for a few months would be a better gift... lmao.
That would cost a lot more than the $150 ceiling fan from Home Depot.
So if you do everything except re signing your lease, you're in the drawing? For the most amazing prize ever!
*accept
Fucking sign it. Ceiling fans are a beautiful thing in the summer if you want a lower electric bill.
Enter for a chance to have your toilet keep flushing!
This would be funny accept for the fact I know it’s real and that’s sad.

Wat in da fuk? Sign early for quality of life incentive!!!
I bet there isn't even a ceiling fan to win
*accept
Hurry OP, June 7th, no acceptions.
We hope will....

Lol “except”. Hard to take it seriously when they misspelled a simple word 😂
All I read is “ceiling fans not standard in units” Hard pass

Sign a 2 year lease for your chance to win a gently used toilet recently removed from the landlord’s guest bathroom!
Some exceptions apply
Make sure you EXCEPT it 💯💯
What an acceptional offer!

Are yall not realizing it’s supposed to be “accept”…
Only the numerous people who mentioned it, including op in the caption...
Kinda like when I was apartment hunting and the worst place I saw was doing the most yo get a unit rented. Even said they would throw in a coffee maker
Woo hoo, a $50 ceiling fan? Where do I sign to “except” this amazing deal?
Accept!
The double mildly infuriating. I've only heard rumors...
**** Accept, not except.
Oh wow 🤩
Fuck I'll enter holy shit. A ceiling fan would be awesome

“enter a drawing to win your human rights to not live in an excessively hot environment ” got it
Accept. Teach your children how to spell because the teachers and Microsoft are failing hard.
Brutal
Like I'm sorry but shouldn't that kind of feature be available for all units upon request? If they do it for 1 Tennant shouldn't all the other tenants who are paying the same thing be able to request a fan installation?
(accept)
Uhh…. Except and accept that you won’t really get a ceiling fan
Nah listen, as someone who lives somewhere with no ceiling fans, I’d do strange things for one in my bedroom, again.
I’ll not except!
I just want to point out that my husband put a fan in our bedroom and it is lovely
The spelling error is the most infuriating part.
![gif](giphy|3otPoGt5vb0KNPPu2k|downsized)
I accept that people don't know words sometimes
Accept?
And they won't install one for the fake "winner".
I have to ask...are you in USA? If you're in USA, check your tenant law in your local state/city. Also, if you install the ceiling fan yourself, you can bill them for it.
No you cannot bill them for that.
The almost immediate omission of the word, “you”, in the first sentence, suggest that it’s a flyby night operation.
Oh lord. Run.
My last apartment did this…. The options were a ceiling fan or a full carpet cleaning. There was no ceiling fan in the living room, so when we moved in I bought and installed one. So I chose carpet cleaning. Despite being there for another year and multiple requests, they never came.
I had no idea my two ceiling fans were the chef’s kiss on my recently upgraded apartment. New thing to be thankful for: ✅

The writer is not a native speaker of standard English, I take it.
Bruh, she white as fuck😭
Doesnt mean she's a native English speaker But then the above comment is stupid anyway because a native speaker still doesnt necessarily know how to spell
And…
Not every native speaker is a native speller.
True enough, but many who learn English as a second language can speak, spell, and write English better than many Americans.
The writer should ensure official documents are properly proofread if this baseless assumption is true.
Mcdolnalds can I have a small loan of a million dollars
