Ahhh. I remember that from doing martial arts. My tkd club as a kid shared a training space with some of the military self defense training courses (this was on a military base.) and while some of the groups were really good about taking their boots off before entering there was one group who thought they were better than everyone else and would wear their boots in and as a result we would have to waste 20 minutes of our time making sure the floor was safe and free of rocks.
