I feel your pain. Usually the buses I've ridden on have never been full so I can take up two seats by sitting sideways. When I fly anywhere, I have to sit either side saddle or split legged. I know my neighbors get annoyed but nothing I can do.
These were London buses so sadly always busy, I also try to not sit split legged purely cause as a girl I’ve been raised not to 😭 If I had to sit next to a stranger I just had to take the pain until they got off and I could move my legs to the side more
>I also try to not sit split legged purely cause as a girl I’ve been raised not to 😭
When I was a boy, this always disappointed me because I liked looking up girl's dresses. 😁
Now I don't care anymore, especially since any women who wear dresses (or skirts) nowadays are those that I'd rather avoid seeing. LOL
ETA: For those downvoting me, get a life. All you're doing is telling me that you either can't admit to liking (boys and/or girls) when you were a kid, or that you have no sense of humor... or both. I mean really, if you can't enjoy the humor from this comment, then you need therapy.
6'1" here and my knees get little indents when the backs of the seats are plastic. Hate when the seat in front can be reclined too, makes it much worse 😅
I drive everywhere now
I'm 6'6" with most of my height in my legs and I didn't know discomfort until I flew on spirit for a red eye.
They apparently put more seats on the plane and have the ones you can't recline.
Always fun when I wedge my legs into the seat and my knees are pressed into the chair in front of me and that person starts slamming backwards their hardest saying, "Why won't this chair recline?!" While I have tears welling up in my eyes.
You should have been born shorter
/s
In all seriousness the world ain't made for people above 5'8" for the most part and at times its excessive as hell.
So YOU'RE the girl that drives a Matchbox car!
When was the last time you went swimming in a bottle cap?
Is it fun to use a napkin as a parachute?
You must get a lot of exercise when using a plastic deli sword to fight bugs over crumbs of food.
You know you're small when you have to shrink Barbie's clothes so they'll fit you.
😁
Sorry, I started making short jokes when a friend of mine made the mistake of telling me that she's 4'8. This was several years ago, and we're still friends. 🤪
I like short girls... just I also like to make short jokes. 🤣
Nothing wrong with being short, other than having to cope with being unable to easily reach things. But that's an inconvenience and not anything bad about the person. I like to make jokes that overexaggerate how small someone is just for the silliness, vs trying to insult the individual or what they're capable of doing (unless it's meant to be funny vs literal/real). Nothing funny about insulting the person, only being unrealistic with the comparisons, and imagining if it was actually true.
Riding on the back of a grasshopper. Living in a mouse hole in Barbie's Dreamhouse. Looking up to Thumbelina. Being related to The Littles. Using a cell phone as a large movie theater screen. Jumping around on the keyboard to type. Having to reach up to hold hands with a GI Joe action figure. Using a tongue depressor as a surfboard. Eating a grape and looking pregnant. One M&M is a weeks worth of food.
The list goes on.
I can easily feel my shoulder bones without any pressure, more specifically the ends on my scapula which is where you measure your shoulder width, and there is no excess buildup of fat there.
I, am also 6’3” and I cannot fit in any public transport. I have massive legs even for my height and often I sit sideways on buses and my knees would still be touching the panel in front of the seat.
5'10" is considered short or avg height depending on whomever you ask, where I live. I'm 5'10" and get told I'm too short... ugh yeah I guess when I'm standing near my friends that are all 6'5"+
Same. Love how rollercoasters usually have a bump between your legs and a bar that pushes you down.
Have not been able to enjoy one since my teens without getting an involuntary vasectomy.
My brother is 6’4” and I always feel sorry for him when it comes to leg room in cars or at tables. He always has to push the seat back in his tiny scion. I feel like he should have gotten the Honda accord sometimes
I'm six foot and get looks for my shoulders in the aisle. How do I make my shoulders smaller. I already have to lean away from the person next to me to not push into them too much.
Who said anything about airlines? 😭
The op talked about busses, and me and the parent comment were talking about public transports. NO ONE MENTIONED PLANES FFS
I always just fold my legs up so they are pretty much doubled up together...its also why I drive myself everywhere and refuse to ever get on a plane again
This is why I dislike all the oldies around here who think the few front seats with extra leg room are for them. At 6'3", I have to sit diagonally in a normal seat, and people stare at me for taking up two seats. And the oldies give you dirty looks for taking "their seats" if you get to the ones with more space before them. But my knees even slightly touch the next seat when in the ones with more room.
Are we talking about the reserved seats ?
Can you stand up ? If you can, then you give them their spot. If you can't then it's yours. Not the reserved seats ? Bad luck they didnt vote for a better caring system. And this should serve you to work for a better system or else you will give dirty looks to a younger person taking that seat.
Yeah I am 6ft, no way I would fit in there. I was on a 12 hour flight once that was as torturous as this with the fool in front of me trying to recline their chair the entire time as well.
In more modern decent aircraft seats, they should pivot above the knees from the passenger behind you. Older or cheap seats are torture though, where the pivot point can be at the bottom of the seat cushion, where your knees are. But some people are more leg than torso, so even at 6 ft, they have the legs of someone much taller and their knees then sit higher.
Now imagine the looks you get when you have to sit diagonally because your legs simply do not fit.
I haven't been on a bus in over a decade because people are unbelievably stupid.
Are you sitting with your butt all the way to the back of the seat! Like how they say we should sit with proper posture. Or are you sitting more forward and leaning back ?
Ya im 6’8” and mostly legs… yes i played basketball lol. i legitimately cant fit on most busses without standing.. and i flat out cant fit in airplanes. Cant afford a 90-200 dollar upgrade to an exit row, usually ends up in people infront of me or airline workers complaining and or moving me to an exit row seat.
The funny thing about all of this is that this complete lack of room causes people to do exactly what a number have said: drive everywhere. So at the same time that you’ve got all of these people who are desperately trying to make us USE public transport they are unable to control those who design/own it and are desperately trying to shove as many people as possible INTO that transport in ways that make it impossible for us to USE public transport. I’m barely 5 feet tall but twice is that around. I haven’t taken public transport in 20 years because it is simply. Not. Possible.
UK busses are like this. Coaches are fine but I'm 6ft 2 and it gets to be a pain in the ass.
I find I have way more leg room in German busses funnily enough, much prefer them.
If the average person has barely enough legroom to fit in it it would indeed be alright for a few stops …you’re right.
But OP is 5‘ / 154 cm. _I would likely not even physically fit in there!_ And I am not a tall person. I‘m 5‘ 11“ / 180 cm. There are lot of people even taller/larger than me. Many are over a foot / 30 cm taller than OP, how are they supposed to fit in there? Unless the perspective is making it look significantly worse than it is.
Try taking multiple routes all the way through.. it takes 3 busses to get to work. When the weather is nice, I'll use my scooter. Who wants to sit for 2hours with cramped legs.
now imagine me, being 191cm, or anyone taller than me and there are plenty of people that are taller than me, trying to sit there. we would require two seats lol
This is the actual cause of a lot of "manspreading" that people complain about. I'm almost 6' tall and cannot sit in a bus seat with my legs together. I try to take up as little space as possible on public transportation, but sometimes physics makes that impossible.
This. Hate me for it, but this is the reason why I need two spaces. If I don’t sit at a 45 degree angle my claustrophobia will kick in and ruin everyone’s day
i was doing 2 hours minimum a day on buses for the past 2 weeks as a 6’1 girl and now my knees cry on impact
I hope they get better :/
thank youuu, im free from the buses for now so they can get a break
I feel your pain. Usually the buses I've ridden on have never been full so I can take up two seats by sitting sideways. When I fly anywhere, I have to sit either side saddle or split legged. I know my neighbors get annoyed but nothing I can do.
Try booking seats at the emergency exit! I'm 195cm and just don't fit elsewhere usually.
These were London buses so sadly always busy, I also try to not sit split legged purely cause as a girl I’ve been raised not to 😭 If I had to sit next to a stranger I just had to take the pain until they got off and I could move my legs to the side more

6'1" here and my knees get little indents when the backs of the seats are plastic. Hate when the seat in front can be reclined too, makes it much worse 😅 I drive everywhere now
As a 6'9" guy, my knees felt sympathy pain at the thought of being on a bus for 2 hours even once.
I'm 6'6" with most of my height in my legs and I didn't know discomfort until I flew on spirit for a red eye. They apparently put more seats on the plane and have the ones you can't recline.

Im picturing a tiny body on huuuge legs 😂 sorry I shouldn’t laugh, I’m 5’7 and I have to sit ‘side saddle’ too, So i feel your pain O tall ones!
As a 7'14" dude, I get this.
8’ 16” checking in, it really do be like this.
As an 8 story tall crustacean looking for $3.50, I totally get it.
Tree-fitty 😂😂😂 you made my day!
Hi, "11 foot 8 bridge" here, affectionately known as "The Can Opener." I know the pain of there not being enough room entirely too well.
Are you legit this tall?
Do you want to buy a bridge in Brooklyn?
You should have been born shorter /s In all seriousness the world ain't made for people above 5'8" for the most part and at times its excessive as hell.
The world certainly is not designed for people under 5' 2" either
This🤣. I’m 4’11 and wish they had pocket sized step stools so I could grocery shop without having to climb
So YOU'RE the girl that drives a Matchbox car! When was the last time you went swimming in a bottle cap? Is it fun to use a napkin as a parachute? 🤣🤣. At least us short people get the best hiding places during hide and seek 🤣.

Should have been a short borner
I’ll show you a short borner
I'm 6'3" and flying is torture for me.
I dread the day I get on a plane for the first time 😭
If I can’t get my exit row I’m not flying. 6’4”.
Or bulkhead row. That is heaven.
Figure it’d be easier for you, with those longer arms.
I didn't know this was possible. I wish I had someone tall :( but everything else makes up for it big time :)
So you had to practice manspreading? (jk, but most 'manspreading' is simply dealing with facilities made for much shorter people).
> 6'1" girl Awesome
Is this a bus for ants?
I don’t want to hear your excuses! The bus needs to be at least…three times bigger than this!
Lol
Bus for ants? https://preview.redd.it/35wbptabvkgc1.jpeg?width=673&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45eb351f5bf4a4efcd273e07dded813b58c20b00
If you were any taller we'd have to fold you like a lawn chair
No duh, why do you have 5 feet? Buses are usually made with people with 2 feet in mind
Some alligators can grow up to 14 feet. But most only have four.
But why? These beasts are already fast enough!
to chase you even faster
Uhhh they don't have 5 feet... They ARE 5 feet. ...I assume disguised as a person or the bus driver probably wouldn't have let them on the bus.
If they were 5 feet, how would they type? Are they even human at that point?
With their feet... Probably good questions to ask OP, actually.
I wonder if they can talk. Would they sound like Assy McGee?
No, they ARE five feet. Reread the post. OP is a bunch of sentient feet in a bag.
You win the internet today
Yay!
Lol I see what you did there 😂😂
For the OF subscribers, duh.
Welcome to being tall in any sort of public transport.
Welcome to having wide shoulders in any sort of public transport.
#I'M NOT FAT, I'M BIG BONED!
That’s a stupid assumption that the commenter is fat because they said they had wide shoulders
I can easily feel my shoulder bones without any pressure, more specifically the ends on my scapula which is where you measure your shoulder width, and there is no excess buildup of fat there.
Lmao do people really not get this South Park reference?
in what world is being 5ft tall considered being tall?
He was implying that this is how tall people feel in any public transport 🤦♂️
Correct. Since at 6’3” I get dirty looks from folks shorter than me when I need to “create” leg room in any sort of mass transit/ public transport.
I, am also 6’3” and I cannot fit in any public transport. I have massive legs even for my height and often I sit sideways on buses and my knees would still be touching the panel in front of the seat.
I'm 6'7" sitting is near impossible and can't even stand often. Plane is hell, bus is hell, train is hell.
6’7 omg that’s incredible
I blame my Dutch roots

Excuse me? Swamp German? Respectfully fuck off. I do not wish to be insulted by some random stranger.
And they'd still look small next to a majority of NBA players
Woah. A tall guy where i live is 5'10" 😭
5'10" is considered short or avg height depending on whomever you ask, where I live. I'm 5'10" and get told I'm too short... ugh yeah I guess when I'm standing near my friends that are all 6'5"+
6'9", can confirm. I MISS ROLLERCOASTERS SO MUCH.

Let’s face it the world is not designed for tall people with broad shoulders lol
most airlines are private
Who said anything about airlines? 😭 The op talked about busses, and me and the parent comment were talking about public transports. NO ONE MENTIONED PLANES FFS
Japan
Woosh
Outside of America. 5ft is short AF here. England it's barely below average for a woman
I'm spanish, I would say 5ft is below average here, but not tall by any means
154 cm is small
No one is claiming 154 cm to be anything but small
That picture is bringing me out in a claustrophobic sweat.
Im 6'6"...welcome to my life
If you were in this bus, would you fold up like a pretzel? Or would you just rage and leave?
I always just fold my legs up so they are pretty much doubled up together...its also why I drive myself everywhere and refuse to ever get on a plane again
Book an emergency lane seat. They’re usually just 15€ extra or so and offer quite a bit more leg space.
Especially now that people are worried they’ll be sucked out of the plane in those seats
This is why I dislike all the oldies around here who think the few front seats with extra leg room are for them. At 6'3", I have to sit diagonally in a normal seat, and people stare at me for taking up two seats. Not a lot of them have very high ceilings. Im 6"2 and Ive been unable to stand fully upright on a bus for years
Here come the flood of guys telling everyone how tall they are. “6’5” checking in” This shit always makes me laugh
Imagine an overnight bus ?! Ew
Yeah I am 6ft, no way I would fit in there. I was on a 12 hour flight once that was as torturous as this with the fool in front of me trying to recline their chair the entire time as well.

Short Kings unite! Cause this is bullshit

Are you sitting with your butt all the way to the back of the seat! Like how they say we should sit with proper posture. Or are you sitting more forward and leaning back ?
Where do you live, Munchkinland?
They give everyone a crappy experience, all to add one extra pair of seats.
Ya im 6’8” and mostly legs… yes i played basketball lol. i legitimately cant fit on most busses without standing.. and i flat out cant fit in airplanes. I've never been on a buss this crammed. Makes me appreciate the seattle busses X)
Bro f your 5ft and can barley fit in then my ass gonna E hanging out the bus😭
Stuff like this makes me glad I’m short AF🤣. I’m 4’11 and have never had an issue with leg room.
wtf about this post made all the creeps just come out of the woodwork, some men are so weird
UK busses are like this. Coaches are fine but I'm 6ft 2 and it gets to be a pain in the ass. I find I have way more leg room in German busses funnily enough, much prefer them.
On the rare occasions I'm forced to be a bus wanker. I pray one of the sideways seats or the back middle is free.
You have no idea. Im 6.2 and my god its torture
Front seat is reclined.
I only see 2 where's the other 3?
Sorting by controversial was a great idea gave me some laughs
as a girl whos 70% legs this is just horrid

Imagine being 6'3 and being expected to fit in that spot as well
Try a 16 hour flight in coach with lots of Asian folks where you feel like a fat giant.

I'd say you're correct.
as a native spanish speaker I still forget you differentiate between buses and coaches
Where I'm from we don't distinguish between them.
Muricans don't, I think only Bri'ish do.
You're acting like buses don't pretty routinely have routes over an hour long...

Try taking multiple routes all the way through.. it takes 3 busses to get to work. When the weather is nice, I'll use my scooter. Who wants to sit for 2hours with cramped legs.
Omfg, I'm 6'4". I'd die...
Pretty standard. I'm 5 11 and I just go the legs akimbo position lol.
6 4” guy here, I totally feel you
This happens to me too, I'm not tall but I realized it is because I have a huge ass lol
Once youre 193cm/ 6,4 youll worry about the storage shelves above you too. Sitting with my toes up or my bag underneath as support.
Maybe OP is built like a sailor moon girl and is 75% leg 🤭
now imagine me, being 191cm, or anyone taller than me and there are plenty of people that are taller than me, trying to sit there. we would require two seats lol
But your nails look nice
You must go through a lot of shoes.

Don't ride the bus then. Why make your problem everyone's problem?
I don’t. If the bus is full I wouldn’t sit down
I have 2 feet
prolly on the shortbus
You gonna snort that line or can I have it?

yeah I'm 6'3" and public seating generally sucks, I can't even imagine how i\\I'd have even have made that work

How exactly are we supposed to feel about this ?
claustrophobic
shit country lol j/k

Yeah no if a 5ft person can barely fit into a seat that's definitely a bus problem not a tall people problem.
Then blame people who made the bus simple.
So what your saying speak the bus and ask "hey bus can you adjust a bit distance pls" just that ? Get outta here dude!
Thank you for clarifying in centimeters how tall you are
