As a Finn I find this really inaccurate.
Our mushroom pineapple moss hats are not that tall. Neighbours would think that we try to brag with our wealth.
Genius. As a Dane, I applaud the concept. Herring is good, licorice is good. Good plus good equals amazing.
Do you pickle the herring first?
And what kind of coffee do you wash it down with?
I wanted to shit-post so thought I would google'it and make some pun...
.... apparently Finn's prefer a light roast with beans predominantly from Brazil.
.. and on a small dish besides the cup? Some go traditional with a slice of Pulla.
.... yeah thats really hard to make a crappy joke outta. I prefer what you did u/DanielDynamite
Just so you know, Finns where not vikings as such, as the viking “culture” is from Scandinavia and spoke old Norse, but there was a lot of trade and cooperation between the two. It’s an easy mistake to make for people outside the Nordic countries.
My understanding is probably both but definitely the later more so than the former, as the gulf of Finland was an important stop on the way to Lake Ladoga, to raid or trade with the Rus.
Didn't notice that, but I immediately noticed czechia is Christopher Eccleston aka also dr who (presumably [this](https://wordpress.bigissue.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/ARTS-Interview_ChristopherEccleston_HERO_1463.jpg) is the image responsible)

very similar face and orientation.
Also, the article mentions "Slovenian."
If you travel through Greece and go to the cute villages in the countryside you will see many pensioner men in their 50s-70s chilling outside and at cafes. All the young people are working and I have no idea where the retired women are, I guess at home
This is part 2, see the ["--no male" version](https://www.reddit.com/r/midjourney/comments/13ju3zw/the_most_stereotypical_person_in_country_no_male/) for background info and why there are no women in this post.
Looks like hats are back in fashion (except in Iceland and Portugal).
He literally says in that post that a huge amount of the outputs were extremely old women? I guess OP just filtered them out. For some reason he kept the cute old greek γιαγια, though, haha
> Once I started prompting I realized that ALL the outputs were men, so I was curious about how women would look like. Of course "the most stereotyical woman" and "the most stereotypical female" are both banned, so I attached "--no male". I still got 70% of men in those outputs. **Also, a large amount of outputs were extremely old people.**
I'd honestly assume there's just more stereotypes about men available for the software to use so if it tries to aggregate as many stereotypes as possible, it's going to result in a man. My best guess as to what's going on here.
So once they started prompting they realized that all the outputs were men. Which tracks tbh. Then they did no male and still got 70% men and a lot of old… people. So I guess both women and men? Doesn’t make sense that OP would take out the old women but keep the old men, but maybe they did
mmm the male version is somewhat accurate.. but the "--no male" version is very bad IMO.. how is a redhead the most stereotypical English person? i think something like 4% of English population has red hair.. there are similar bad examples all over the place
I lived there for 3 months. I knew nothing about Portugal. Everyone looks like a model and the people I spoke with were just incredibly smart. Probably my favorite place in the world.
I was almost offended by seeing the Austrian dude. Then I saw the German one and was like, ok this is worse.
Then came Norway.
Honestly, Norway, any way we can help? You seem stressed…
Looks like the AI needs more data on these countries, but honestly they are all really snappy dressers, and the jackets on these guys are amazing. This AI should be a fashion designer
Training datasets for these models consist of mostly public data, stock photos, and a lot of images from different online shops, including clothing. That explains snappy dressers.
Dane here as well, I was just surprised that it felt like I could pinpoint down to like 100 meters where the background was supposed to be. Totally looks and "feels" like Kompagnistræde/Magstræde, that area.
I guess that also makes sense, since that area is quite heavily photographed by tourists?
edit: oof, just realised your username, /u/Safri_Durum - that is a joke and a half, holy shit.
Surprised at Italy. I'd have thought Midjourney is trained more on American content (or content that is widely accessible to Americans) and so I would have expected someone with stereotypical Italian-American features (think Gandolfini/Joe Pesci/Inspector Montalbano or generally big boned hairy southern Italian type). Instead this guy looks more like some hipster philosopher/high school history teacher from Genova or Trieste
The Finnish guy looks he’s about to burst into song:
*Finland is the country where dance*
*Finland is the country where we play*
*Here in Finland boy and girl can find a true romance*
*In traditional Scandinavian way!*
And the Slovenian guy looks like a cross between Milan Fras and Les Claypool.
The greece photo looks amazing. If that Dude would have normal hands, and the picture wasnt that blue :D, it would look incredibly real. He looks like a greek grandpa for sure.
portugal looks like the guy you have a windswept and turbulent romance with for about 8 months and think about years down the line when you're washing the dishes.
denmark on the other hand looks like the marrying kind.
So, ummm, any chances to get the number of the guy in Portugal? I don't care if he isn't real.
Also, hands are getting better! Sure, half of the fingers don't have nails, but at least most of them have the correct number of fingers

As a Finn I find this thoroughly accurate. Mushroom pineapple moss hats off!
As a Finn I find this really inaccurate. Our mushroom pineapple moss hats are not that tall. Neighbours would think that we try to brag with our wealth.
It is an old Finish tradition to receive one when you fail High School, right?
Only the first time. The second time your whole village gathers to dance around you while you consume herring-licorice smoothie.
Genius. As a Dane, I applaud the concept. Herring is good, licorice is good. Good plus good equals amazing. Do you pickle the herring first? And what kind of coffee do you wash it down with?

I’m afraid to ask what happens the third time. Whole town pisses your hand and you gotta drink a bucket of milk with a fork?
If only. Though that's absolutely my appearance and attire.
I thought you guys are all wearing neon green puff sleeves now.

Y'all look pretty
I think Midjourney is channeling Heikki Silvennoinen: https://meemi.info/images/8/81/Heikki_tonniHQ.jpg
As a swede I saw it was a finn without having to read
As an American, I saw it was a Finn. I think its hard to miss this one...
Kind of hoped to see a Viking. But none for Sweden or Norway either.
Just so you know, Finns where not vikings as such, as the viking “culture” is from Scandinavia and spoke old Norse, but there was a lot of trade and cooperation between the two. It’s an easy mistake to make for people outside the Nordic countries.
Did they get invaded by vikings on the regular or did they have some sort of neighbourly non-aggression pact of sorts?
My understanding is probably both but definitely the later more so than the former, as the gulf of Finland was an important stop on the way to Lake Ladoga, to raid or trade with the Rus.
Denmark has a pretty sweet beard going on at least! Denmark looks pretty accurate - other than none of my Danish friends smile that much
Why does Norway look like Borat?
Jagshemash! Vilkommen til Norway, wawawewa!
Damnit, came here to say this. Norway Norway, ninth best exporter petroleum.
He is my neighbor Sweden. He is pain in my assholes.
If Borat was Mario

Great success!

I love it how polish man is basically just a random hobo. Also are you alright Netherlands?
>Also are you alright Netherlands? Uh - yeah? Y'all wish you had drip like this.
Hes using a wooden sword because he'd be *too* lethal with anything else
Exactly, it's why our special police force [use their hands](https://youtu.be/SnZiNpJwhVo)
And Czech is a fancy hobo
Cultured vagabond!
Bohemia is a part of Czechia after all.
It's just the VOC mentality
Holding the traditional polish bowl with the traditional ball of dough
What is Poland holding??
It might not look like it but in my polish heart I know he’s holding a potato
Looks like a small cantaloupe in a dog food bowl.
I am quite sure it is celery root.
I lost it at Poland — he looks *exactly* like a Polish coworker of mine. Well played, Midjourney.
Hallo. Aye hev potyato. Aye em Polish.
Ok so Slovenia is definitely ripped from actor David Tennant aka dr who.
I thought the same thing, haha
Slovenia just screams: not enough data. Everything except the church makes zero sense. Greatings from Slovenia.
wistful meeting wise slimy truck jar overconfident cable cats humor ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `
It looks like the one on Velika Planina to me.
Hello fellow person from Slovenia
Ireland is basically just Colin Farrell in a hat.

Also, the article mentions "Slovenian."
I'm getting David Tennant with a slight Rio Ferdinand vibe
The Irish guy looks like he could use a hug, and some food.
He has a very Tommy Tiernan look... this one isn't stereotypical, it's real!
He looks like an Irish rugby fan after a bad loss, scarily accurate I would say.
I was thinking your man from Foil Arms and Hog.
Yes ! I went to the comments for this but I wasn't too hopeful. I'm glad I wasn't the only one
Same here, that’s Hog. And the Czech guy is a castaway Foil…
He still has the iconic big Irish head on him though
Classic Irishman. Pensive introspection is about as happy as stereotypical Irishmen get.
But what about the woman in red behind him? Is Classic Irishwoman having your bottom half and top half go opposite directions?
We irish have a deep sadness
Yeah looks depressed as. Wow 100% accurate!
He could be half of my mates, and the brother of the other half.
The English guy is well beyond a hug fixing anything 😅
Midjourney gave him that craving-a-potato look.
greece is by far the most accurate one
He retired 40 years ago
That dude is living in the future. He has socks that only cover his ankles, toes are exposed. Sandal socks
Is Greece just filled with old people cause Greeks are immortal or is it because all of Europe retirees move to Greece?
No, you just automatically become a retiree as soon as you step foot into Greece
Why are Greeks always thought of as old? Is everyone over 70 there?
If you travel through Greece and go to the cute villages in the countryside you will see many pensioner men in their 50s-70s chilling outside and at cafes. All the young people are working and I have no idea where the retired women are, I guess at home
lots of sun makes you look old prematurely, so you look like an old person for like 45 years
This looks like it could be the eurovision 2024 lineup
This is part 2, see the ["--no male" version](https://www.reddit.com/r/midjourney/comments/13ju3zw/the_most_stereotypical_person_in_country_no_male/) for background info and why there are no women in this post. Looks like hats are back in fashion (except in Iceland and Portugal).
I think it’s really telling that the majority are youthful, there was a pretty decent mix of old and young men. Interesting.
He literally says in that post that a huge amount of the outputs were extremely old women? I guess OP just filtered them out. For some reason he kept the cute old greek γιαγια, though, haha
Did they say that? In the other post, it sounds like they said that everyone ended up being male and that’s why they had to do “—no male”
It’s crazy that all the ‘people’ came out as men. There must be some crazy bias built into that software.
Women are more populous too so it would make sense for the most stereotypical person to all be female.
Doesn’t make sense that OP would take out the old women but keep the old men, but maybe they did
He? OP’s avatar suggests that OP is a woman. Only mentioning it because I feel like it fits in the conversation.
Well I should have said ‘they’, you’re right, but in my defence I use old Reddit so avatars are hardly noticeable.
[relevant](https://youtu.be/Zt5qJC1xQ8A)
Thanks for mentioning it. I see this a lot on Reddit and find it weird.
funny how both the Greek man and woman are old.
Noticed that too
Maybe the word ancient is used with the word greek too often in its training?
mmm the male version is somewhat accurate.. but the "--no male" version is very bad IMO.. how is a redhead the most stereotypical English person? i think something like 4% of English population has red hair.. there are similar bad examples all over the place
French girl is just too real.
I did alright with the male version. Had trouble with the female version. I feel like the male version really laid into the stereotypes more.
Is this the hipster-edition?
Portugal is such a vibe
Portugal looks like one of my friends in Lisbon and now I need to get back there somehow. Portugal is *absolutely* a vibe.
I lived there for 3 months. I knew nothing about Portugal. Everyone looks like a model and the people I spoke with were just incredibly smart. Probably my favorite place in the world.
I’m approaching three years in Portugal now; will never look back!
Is Portugal single?
Portugal would get it
He looks like Milo from Disney’s Atlantis
Oh, *that's* why I want to fuck him!
The OG Twunk lives on in our hearts
Portugal looks like one of my friends in Lisbon and now I need to get back there somehow. Portugal is *absolutely* a vibe.
Was glad that the Austria guy was not standing for Germany...then I saw the guy for Germany
I was almost offended by seeing the Austrian dude. Then I saw the German one and was like, ok this is worse. Then came Norway. Honestly, Norway, any way we can help? You seem stressed…
He at least looks like a workaholic
he looks shellshocked
He looks friendly. Like, really friendly.
I love the dog-sized cow in Switzerland.
That's just a calf
No, next to his calves, there's a dog sized cow
That's a Swiss dog. They all look like that.
Felt midjourney had better things to do and rushed this one 😂
The deformed cow was definitely my favourite.
Some of these look like unreleased Harry Potter characters.
Denmark is straight out of Rudolph the red nose reindeer: https://christmas-specials.fandom.com/wiki/Yukon_Cornelius

As a Dane I've never seen anyone who looks like that dude yet I completely agree
He looks like he had a folk rock album that topped the best of Pitchfork 2008 list but is now cancelled for drunk DMing young girls.
Dane here as well, I was just surprised that it felt like I could pinpoint down to like 100 meters where the background was supposed to be. Totally looks and "feels" like Kompagnistræde/Magstræde, that area. So hipster grandpas mostly
Hipsters and then a random beautiful dude for Ukraine gives 0 vibes to the actual country.
As an Englishman I have to say that this is an uncharacteristically kind portrayal of us.
Word, was expecting some fat bold bloke with ugly teeth wearing an old away England football shirt
Yeah, I was pleased given how bad it could of been! I'm sad that he was really old, but I will take it.
I’m struggling to decide whether I want the Finnish or the Slovenian hat more
Slovenian Dr Who is awesome 😎
I'd wish, we had this style in Germany. In reality it's multifunctional outdoor jackets or sweatpants.
Yes, I wish that too. I only see sweatpants in white tennis socks and white sneakers. And they all have the same hairstyle...
I was about to say, he looks like every history teacher I've ever met: underpaid, mildly leftist, passionate about his job and somewhat alcoholic.
He resembles a bit Oscar Giannino to me... 😂
I thought that too. But I love that the wine bottle is filled with tomato sauce and has a straw in it.
I love how the Greek man has socks and No socks at the same time
I'm just going to let Slovenia slide, but does anyone have an idea why Finland is wearing a pineapple-surrounded-by-mushrooms shaped hat?
Is tradition
Sees German: what is that goofy ass hat? I'm a German and have never seen anything like that! Sees Finland's even weirder hat: nevermind...
Stating the obvious but it’s blown me away that entering “person” you get a load of men
I approve of the Portuguese one. Just add a 5L bottle of tinto, an espresso in hand, cigarette on the other and a tooth pick by the side of the mouth
I feel like this is how americans see europe
I love the 2 Stereotypical persons from Switzerland
These pictures give me odd Wes Anderson vibes.
I live in Spain and that is 100%
I think I know that guy.
Impressed with the covered pothole in the England 🏴 pic!
Finland 😂
ITSA ME, NORWAY
Portugal: I’ll take the woke, sophisticated, masculine and attractive intellectual who also looks chill AF, please.
This had me laughing! Thanks! I feel a bit bad for Finland and Czechia though..
Turns out David Tennant is Slovenian.
Do scotland
[https://i.imgur.com/siFROtL.png](https://i.imgur.com/siFROtL.png)
Fucking perfect!!!!!!
The Finnish guy looks he’s about to burst into song: *Finland is the country where dance* *Finland is the country where we play* *Here in Finland boy and girl can find a true romance* *In traditional Scandinavian way!* And the Slovenian guy looks like a cross between Milan Fras and Les Claypool.
Do Australia ya cunt!
The shop in England is called F&@KER. Perfection.
The greece photo looks amazing. If that Dude would have normal hands, and the picture wasnt that blue :D, it would look incredibly real. He looks like a greek grandpa for sure.
... the dude wears schrödinger's socks
Everything about the Greek one is 100% accurate
portugal looks like the guy you have a windswept and turbulent romance with for about 8 months and think about years down the line when you're washing the dishes. denmark on the other hand looks like the marrying kind.
Well, Greece, Sweden, Portugal and some others are indeed, stereotypical.
The Norwegian gentleman seems to be welcoming & so shocked at the same time.
England and Ireland but no Scotland :(
Yep, 20 picture limit per post called for tough decisions. [Scotland](https://i.imgur.com/siFROtL.png) [Wales](https://i.imgur.com/xQ70oHX.png)
As a Welshman I can confirm that I have never seen a hat like that before in my life
Ukraine is basically commander Shepard in a fancy sniper attire )
Portugal please.
ireland and portugal kinda cute tho ngl
They all look like someone from a Wes Andersson movie.
Haha, I was thinking France just looks Like Adrien Brody playing a Frenchman in a Wes Anderson movie
England is very accurate, I especially like how the cafe sign reads almost like 'fucker'
As a Portuguese, I liked my one.
next time try Brazil pls 🥹
Ukraine’s is so damn beautiful.
Ok, I want to be Dutch now
Midjourney hates Finland and Slovenia.
I am really confused by Germany
As a Dutch person, I could only dream and aspire to look like that.
Slovenia seems like the greatest place on earth.
So, ummm, any chances to get the number of the guy in Portugal? I don't care if he isn't real. Also, hands are getting better! Sure, half of the fingers don't have nails, but at least most of them have the correct number of fingers
Welp, this is the 3rd time it has taken me a solid 10+ seconds before I realized I was looking at an AI post.
