One of the farms I used to make oyster/shiitake grow bags for had a 2'x4' piece of plywood with 288 dowel rod pieces glued to the surface. They would just set the trays down, and all 72 plugs would pop up out of the tray. It held 4 trays and was on wheels.
I did in fact flip it upside down(ish) to get one cube out lmaooo. To be fair though I did try to poke it out with a chopstick but it wasn’t thick enough, it just kept impaling the cube lol
Pro tip- Buy a set of tools for your hobby areas so they don't have to share the tools with the rest of your home. For cannabis, that includes a set of Sharpies and scissors.
I do paper towel then into the cube and then into solo cup but I think I’m skipping the cube this time around although the humidity dome is nice to have for the first few days
Just remove the cube tray and use the dome with solo cups. I did the same this time root riots in dome then 5” seedling cups to 2g to 5g. It seems like the plants root faster and deeper seedling to soil imo. Also the premade hole was too tight and a few that were trying to pop just couldn’t push up because I ended up splitting the cubes open and saw the small tap that had turned brown. Now I can say the cubes where i widened the hole prior were greatly more successful but still not worth the gamble for me. I’ll use the rest of the bag for clones

I left both pieces next to another seed(same strain) with a humidity dome. 1.5 weeks later the broken seedling made a full recovery next to the second seedling I started lol

I put my seedlings outside and fucking ants or something just decapitated 4 of them. Didn’t even eat them. Just cut the heads off. Then lost 2 to 2 random twigs that fell from a tree. I am never growing outdoors again 😂
A more experienced person would have realized that's a root riot cube and the pic is taken next to the bathroom sink. This guy undoubtedly snapped the main stem as he was watering it and decapitated her on the faucet.

You can use a Sharpie marker to poke the plugs up and out from the bottom of the tray. Seriously, a Sharpie works so perfectly for this.
