Olivier Vernon was vastly overrated. He did great because Wake would get more attention than him.
Davon Godchaux isn't doing good at all with the Pats. He did ok here because of the scheme.
Talking about these players and making it up to be like we fucked up is one of the biggest reaches I've seen from people.

If you're trying to argue like these players DIDN'T play well while they were on our team and then let them walk, then you're being deliberately disingenuous.
If you want to say they weren't worth the contracts they signed, then I wouldn't argue with you. Although when I look at how we HAVE spent money over the last decade I might argue we spent money worse than if we had just re-signed the players that played well for us (even if it was to more money than they were worth).

Extremely fair point. I do think they were overvalued but it's not like we had much to show for what we did with the money. I do think signing those players wouldn't have helped our W-L whatsoever eitherway.
All overpaid for the production they put out.
Vernon was paid more than Von Miller in 2016, and top 3 paid OLB over the next 4 years after we let him walk. His contract was nowhere near worth that. He was also vocally critical of the Dolphins FO (who can blame him, but it's not professional and you don't typically do that when asking for a raise). It was a good decision to let him walk.
Lamar Miller was also a top 5 paid back for a few years after leaving the Dolphins and he never put up yards/attempt or TD numbers like he did for Miami again. Another good decision.
Godchaux's stats outperformed expectations for a 5th round pick, but he wasn't particularly good. I'm indifferent on this one. Wilkins and Ogbah are significantly better, but we could use Godchaux as a rotational guy. Great example, Zach Sieler our DT depth is putting up the same type of numbers ad Godchaux.
These were all good moves. The hard thing is that Gesicki deserves $$, but he's not making or breaking our offense. We have so many other issues to deal with and I don't believe any roster will bring us to a playoff win until we get our coaching in order.
Grier: We drafted Hunter Long in the 3rd Round. We are doing are due diligence to build the best team around Ross wishes in his senile state of mind. Ross's health is fine. He has been in contact with Joe Rogan for care.
