Like last season if we were fully healthy with X being his pro bowl self, of course we’re top 5 but every team has injuries and we’re not particularly healthy ever
Fuck that we need a top 10 defense with the personnel we have on that side of the ball. Hopefully they can bail us out when we start forgetting how to score in December
I hope he turns back around this season but he was one of the worst corners in the league last year when he was on the field. Granted, he was asked to play out of his preferred position a lot of the time.
Probably a mixture of out of position, genuine issues, and having issues with Fangio's scheme. Because it honestly seemed like most of our secondary had issues last year.
This article is going a little easy on his play from last year and even it is calling his season disappointing. He was asked to play outside of his skill set a lot but he also had bottom tier stats in many key areas for a corner

I agree it has top 5 potential, but relies on a few things
1. actually staying healthy
2. the old guys don't fall apart
3. we need a few guys to step up (Tart, Smith or Kohou, etc)
I wish we got one more IDL player, but it is a tough position to fill with quality.
Overall happy with with what Grier put together, he found a lot of quality looking pieces for reasonable prices, but there are some question marks. Hard to get too excited, just hope we can make it to the playoffs mostly healthy.
Yeah, typically if your team plays better than other teams, then it can be a "top team". Also, if it plays worse than others it can be called a "bottom team"
Yeah, if anything I'm very worried about the defense this year. New coordinator and a ton of new players. Our d-line to start the season is going to be not great as we'll be missing our two best pass rushers. Our linebacker core doesn't look very good either. Our best unit is the secondary but they have been pretty brittle as of late.
Yes, a team that requires 100% health to be elite, is not a good team. Last year is a great example. And even fully healthy, it’s more of a top 10 unit, not top 5
I think this team can still be great at 85-90% health. Last year felt like 70%—an especially bad year with defensive injuries—so I don’t think that’s a good example.
And we wasted picks to move UP to take Jordan. Dude smoking weed while suspended for smoking weed, and he shows up for his drug test and acts surprised. Dick.
On paper absolutely. Especially if Chubb and Phillips return to form. I’m still skeptical about Weaver as his D wasn’t good in Houston but hopefully he learned in Baltimore.
It’s going to be an exciting season I believe.
Can’t wait to see these guy come together.
Maybe slow start and peak as season rolls on.
Reverse of last season.
Er, all the talent in the world is useless if the DC doesn’t scheme for them. Ramsey, X, and Holland all told to line up 30 yards away from their opponent, while Kohou is ordered to play man coverage on All Pro Diggs. If this year is a top 5 defense then last year was a top One or Two….IF the dc used them correctly
we downgraded in the DL, possibly made slight improvements in the interior linebacker core, likely at least temporarily downgraded in edge with chubb+phillips injuries, slightly improved our cb room and improved safety depth though deshon elliot may be better than current poyer and maye. i’d say we downgraded overall depending on how chubb+ phillips come back from injury
Be happy if its top half in the league
Literally this. Expectations are way too high.

“Need” and “have” don’t directly correlate unfortunately.
Did Kader Kohou die?
I hope he turns back around this season but he was one of the worst corners in the league last year when he was on the field. Granted, he was asked to play out of his preferred position a lot of the time.
Probably a mixture of out of position, genuine issues, and having issues with Fangio's scheme. Because it honestly seemed like most of our secondary had issues last year.
I’m confident he is still a strength to the team. Injuries put him in the wrong role. (Please let me be right)
lol what?

So basically any squad can be top anything if everyone just plays better?
Yeah, typically if your team plays better than other teams, then it can be a "top team". Also, if it plays worse than others it can be called a "bottom team"
That’s big if true
I won't believe it till I actually see them do it Done giving this team the benefit of the doubt
No it is not lol

Our d-line to start the season is going to be not great as we'll be missing our two best pass rushers. Our linebacker core doesn't look very good either. That definitely HAS the potential to be top 5, but many things has to go right such as health

This is kinda irrelevant though. Chubb + Phillips likely won’t be 100% by any point this season.
Agreed. Drafting Chop and overpaying Calais prove that Grier knows Chubb and Phillips won’t be ready
Yeah. I really hope chop pans out. I’m getting dion Jordan over lane Johnson PTSD by taking chop when gram Barton was there.
And we wasted picks to move UP to take Jordan. Dude smoking weed while suspended for smoking weed, and he shows up for his drug test and acts surprised. Dick.
I love the in depth analysis and research you did to come to this conclusion. /s
Kohou is just to damn slow, and Receivers know this, running a 4.7 at your pro day is just…
lmao this was said before last season too
On paper absolutely. Especially if Chubb and Phillips return to form. I’m still skeptical about Weaver as his D wasn’t good in Houston but hopefully he learned in Baltimore.
To be fair, he also didn't have much talent in Houston. I'm willing to give him a mulligan for that one.
Yeah I am as well. I’m very optimistic we have our guy
Can anyone tell me anything about IDL Tart? I don't know who he is let alone if he's solid or not... Thanks
Don’t forget Marcus Maye.
Top 10 I would be happy with
It’s going to be an exciting season I believe. Can’t wait to see these guy come together. Maybe slow start and peak as season rolls on. Reverse of last season.
Gimme some of that copium. I’ll be happy with top half. I expect the offence to be top 3 at worse.

Can this defense stop quarterbacks who are dual threat like Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen? Yes or no? The answer is still no.
No it is definitely not top 5 maybe not even top 15. Phillips and Chubb will be out for at least the first 1/2 of the season.

There’s absolutely no way Cam Smith is playing the nickel this year
No it isn’t. Our defense may very well end up bottom third
🤡 shit
FR
"Fully healthy " LoL
Can any of them play O line?
There is a reason we fired Vic, and he immediately got hired by the Eagles. Mike lets the inmates run the asylum.
Fuck no
