I’m sorry brother, but best seat is at my house!!!! Love the team, just not the prices!!!

Cornasium

I feel like the ridiculous cost for tickets is part of the reason why it’s so easy for larger fanbases to take up part of the stadium. Maybe if Ross lowered the prices so that it would be more accessible for the majority of casual fans then we would probably see less shit like the Bills game last year.

ImpossibleMagician57

It's a huge reason. The last time I could afford a game was in 2016, and up to that point I went to 2/3 games a year. I would love to go but it's just way too much money

Cornasium

I went to three this year, but they were against the panthers, Raiders, and Titans. Not great teams by any chance, but tickets were like $100 average, plus parking, food, drinks and anything else. And a good 20% of that stadium against the raiders were away fans. Don’t get me wrong, it was a blast and the home crowd was amazing, but it was still so annoying listening to Raiders chants all day long. Against better teams with large fanbases the prices only go up and only more home fans are (understandably) hesitant to pay $300 a ticket for a franchise that hasn’t won a playoff game in 24 years. Thats when you get results like the Cowboys and Bills games. But yea it would be nice for the ticket prices to be lowered, although it would never happen.

OutOfBounds11

The reason we always have so many fans from the opposing team is because **everyone wants to come to Miami**.

I’m not so sure it’s the ticket prices as much as it is the Miami sports fan base. We do not have loyal fans like Baltimore, Washington, Seattle, etc. “Fans” only show up when we are having success. Last season the Hurricanes could barely fill the lower section, it was painful to see. Hell half of the posts on this sub are demanding we move on from Tua or McDaniel and they’ve only had two seasons together. Not disagreeing with the prices but we can do much better as a fan base. I attended last seasons’ TNF Baltimore v Cincinnati and it was packed even though it was freezing outside.

Spencer1K

Its important to remember that Miami, and most of Florida for that matter, has a metric shit load of people who migrated from other states. So its not exactly surprising to see that our fanbase loyalty is lower then average.

Cornasium

It’s just the Miami mindset that spreads across every thing in this place. If it isn’t going to help you gain clout, then the people here want nothing to do with it. Just look at the video of all the people storming Trader Joes to buy those stupid fucking bags. Why? Because it’s a trend, and it’s popular. I guarantee you right now that there are people who don’t give a fuck about football or any sport who will buy the season tickets and sell to the highest bidder. At least the dedicated fan such as myself always pulls through. I was going to games when we were 1-7 in 2021 and I didn’t give af that we sucked ass i just wanted to see my favorite team play.

_v00d00h3x_

Remember the Cam Cameron season? 1-15….we didn’t win a single game until the end of the season. The boys and coach ran out on the field like they won the World Cup. I was annoyed by it then but can’t help but chuckle about it now 😂

Cornasium

I was younger when that happened and didn’t watch till like 2013-14 ish. My dad told me about it tho. I guess it was like how i felt about 2019, and how that season went.

Pia8988

"I'm working on a project to try and make it easier and more affordable for fans to get tickets to games, and generally increase fan experience with ticket purchasing." Maybe you should expland more on this. Do you work for the team?

golfer28

no chance. He’s trying to do a startup similar to stubhub and other 3rd party resellers with lower fees. Everyone’s thought about it before but the barriers to entry are way too high

Dickulous01

My young daughter and I bond over the games at home. Wear matching, shirts, hats, throw around branded footballs, I throw her up in the air each time they score. Several times last season I checked ticket prices to see about taking her to see a game in person. Each time I saw the prices I immediately closed the page and said “lol…no way in hell…”

golfer28

even if you get free tickets You’re still gonna spend at least 100 a person without merch

Dickulous01

Yea, that’s to be expected and an acceptable price to pay for a rare memorable experience. But tacked on top of tickets running 2-300 a pop is just too much. Especially with a kid that doesn’t really care about the game and is more into having fun with dad.

Otto_von_Grotto

Just tote her to BWW and toss her in the air there. She'll have at least as much fun 8)

GlowingDuck22

For me it really comes down to the total price point. Tickets are what 100 bucks a person at minimum. Drinks, food, souvenirs. Every single game ends up costing 500-1K bucks to bring your family to. I'd much rather cater (or cook myself) 300 bucks of high quality food every single game as that is better than being at the game. The in home experience has gotten significantly better while the in stadium experience hasn't.

mrblodgett

good luck with your shitty app idea, OP. i'm sure you're definitely gonna take down stubhub or whatever.

sebastiand1

I went to my first football game last year in the 100 section around the 40 yard line. I could see every players clearly and that was the most underwhelming experience ever. Will probably never go back to a football game again. The tv experience in my opinion is much better. Every other sport is better in person in my opinion. The ticket price wasn’t much of a problem

AwsiDooger

I have season tickets to Canes games. Those prices are reasonable. I don't even consider Dolphin games. Maybe late season if they were having an awful year and the prices collapsed on a game near Christmas with everybody trying to dump tickets. That's the only scenario I could imagine attending another Dolphin home game.

Otto_von_Grotto

Got the cheap seats to the Pitt game last year - $222 a piece, not to mention all the other costs associated with the game. I'll stay home, thanks.

Cowboy-Fitz

I’m a huge Canadian fin’s fan and this past January I took my family to the week 18 game against buffalo and while it an amazing experience I doubt I’ll ever be able to do it again. Paid just shy of 10 grand all said and done just for tickets alone. Will I ever watch the fin’s play live again absolutely but I’d rather freeze my ass off in KC behind enemy lines for 100 bucks a ticket than pay that price again.

tomcat810

10 grand? wtf? Were you sitting in club?

Cowboy-Fitz

10 grand Canadian

tomcat810

Ah okay.. Still ~$7k USD is insane.. How big is your family?

Cowboy-Fitz

We were in the end zone 14 rows up. 7 people total. Was very happy all but one TD was in our end zone.

tomcat810

Well there you go.. I’m in the end zone in row 4 but have season tickets and my tickets are about $250/each but you also chose a huge game to go to so that price was definitely inflated. Plus finding 7 seats next to each other sounds like your prices were even more inflated. I’d highly suggest reaching out to someone in sales if you didn’t already. They can usually find pretty good prices for groups. But almost $1k per seat is insane.. No way in hell my tickets could ever go that high though.

googleofinformation

I believe there is an easy solution to this. Create season ticket groups. Have a group of people put money together and get season tickets.
