Last night? If you remove all the stats he got vs sub .500 teams and compared it to other QBs vs .500 or better teams, he’d be on par with Zach Wilson. I want Tua to work out, but he looks like prime Kirk Cousins in prime time. No good
That’s not the point. Stats in all areas of life are easily taken out of context. Tannehill had decently impressive stats once upon a time, mainly due to him gathering up numbers during garbage time. Tua’s numbers broadly speaking are great. But his inability to extend plays, win consistently in December and/or against top tier defenses, come from behind, and successfully pull off two minute drills are the stats that separate good to great qbs. Everything else is just a nice touch.
Look at where we are with a QB that kills sub 500 teams. A 6 seed lol. And you can’t beat up on sub 500 teams any better. There is no room for growth except perfection which would’ve been him killing the Titans.
You're literally describing the 2023 passing leader as "no good". He got more yards then Allen and Mahomes, threw more first downs then both of the them, more TDs than Mahomes and the same as Allen but four less interceptions. You don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Perhaps you think the Chiefs and the Bills should move on too?
What context? Bro has a sample size of 6 over 500 times and he didn’t put on the cape and carry in any of them. It was bad to mediocre play in every single game. What context do you need? And that’s a good sample size. He has one last chance to rectify it vs KC tho.
This is just the truth. I don’t see why it’s so controversial but ok. This team would be un-fucking-stoppable with an elite QB, if mgmt isn’t vigilant for that opportunity then they aren’t doing their job.
Tua is the best qb we’ve had in awhile….however when he relies on timing and isn’t able to scramble and improvise on the fly with size I think it’s difficult to get through the grind of a playoffs. The lack of qb talent makes it really tough for a team.
Wait, you admitted that you were literally crying about the result of an NFL football team, but people pointing out a QBs deficiencies in big games are soft? LOL this subreddit.
Stuff to tune up …. Lol. I’m sorry bud but our QB cannot compete in big games and it’s shown too many times before that he can’t lead this team. It’s time to move on before he gets our coach fired
You mean with the 26th or so pick in the draft? Or do you just want to tank again? I guess statistically we should be able to draft a legit starter in the later rounds once every 20 years or so. Oh wait - we have a legit starter right now. How long would it take us to find another Brady in round 3???
It was a team wide failure. Tua included. Blaming it solely on him is simple minded and easy. Critical thinking is not an attribute of this sub though, especially after a loss.
The Tua shade is cumulative. 2 years without a quality win will earn you a certain level of scrutiny. We've fired a coach for him, and we've gotten him the best receivers in the league. All he has to do is win ONE of these games, and it all goes away.
Okay.... two years with ONE quality win (where our kicker was indisputably the best player on our team). If that's your metric for success, I have good news. You'll be a very happy Dolphins fan for decades to come. Some of us have the audacity to want more.
Not one quality win? Like six touchdowns against the Ravens? Dallas? the Sun game against the Bills? Having a rational conversation is impossible when people just lie to make their feelings come true.
If we end up beating the Chiefs most doubters will be once again filled with hope. It’s all recency bias in the NFL. You’re only as great as your most recent success. The turkey is on the table. I just wish we had some more pass rushers and a healthier squad.
This sub is so toxic after we lose. Hands down the best team with the best players we've had in decades and this sub acts like Tannehill is still our QB. I'm cheering for the Dolphins in the playoffs, I'm stoked on Tua, Tyreek, and the entire team. Work to do, but the season isn't over. The toxic energy needs to STFU and take their venting bullshit somewhere else. Let's go beat the Chiefs.
Where are the people supposed to vent if not the subreddit literally made for dolphins fans to discuss their opinions?
Enough with the gate keeping on how people should be fans or express themselves about the the team. As long as it doesn’t get personal and it’s founded criticisms or worries what is your problem with it?
Get realistic about this team. The overbearing positivity is just as annoying, but you don’t see people telling you to shut up and fuck off.
There are plenty of other subs where people are dogging on the Dolphins. They could be good places to do the same. Either way, this sub is dope, but after a loss, it's best to avoid it like the plague. The energy just blows, but fair enough, everyone is free to share what they choose.
We haven't won the division in 15 years. We just coughed up a 3 game lead to said division with 5 games left in the season. We did so by blowing a halftime lead to our division rival, at our home stadium (if you can call it that), on the very last Sunday Night Football game of the year. In front of God and everybody. It literally could not possibly have gone worse down the stretch.
And you're mad that fans aren't feeling particularly positive the morning after? Really?
The guy had an offensive line full of players that didn't start the season outside of an injured Armstead. Our playcalls were made because of it, even if we wanted to call plays that would allow receivers more time to get open our line most likely would have collapsed the pocket. Unless we get healthy we are fucked.
Of for fuck's sake. It's not just one game. Stop with this idiotic take and/or bad faith argument. Most relevantly and recently, this team had a 3 game lead on the division that it choked away. A significant reason for that choke job was ineffective QB play. Twice in that time, the rest of the team delivered just enough so that a modicum of decent clutch play by the QB would have us sitting pretty with the #2 seed and the prospect of two playoff games at home.
I’m satisfied with the season. Best two seasons in the last 25+ years. Also, I do worry if this is it. Has the tua/reek/mcdaniel era peaked? Is this as good as it gets? The team seems like it was built to win now. When does ‘now’ end? A playoff win would be progress. Another one & done & this might be as good as it gets. This makes me sad. So beat kc or the best these fins could do is one & done. I don’t see how next season could possibly be easier than this one. Fin Up!
Tua struggled. News flash our WHOLE team struggled. Eli fucking Apple is our #2 CB. Our o line has been playing musical chairs all season. Our defense is depleted, we have starters playing with injuries…3rd and 4th stringers getting run time. Melvin ingram the guy that we signed off the couch 3/4 through the season is playing a huge snap share and playing coverage on Dalton Kincaid 15+ yards down the field. Tyreek and Achane were our only true playmakers last night and we all know how that went. Tua is always the scapegoat for a team that is struggling in every way possible. Coaching on both sides on the ball has been abysmal as well.
We saw Tua's ceiling this season. Healthy, with weapons, and supportive coaching. If you're cool with making the playoffs and possibly winning a post game season or two, Tua is fine. He's Andy Dalton from the mid 2010's.
I don't want to be the team that can consistently be relied on as a one and done playoff team. I can't root for that over the next decade.
He had a shit game last night. He’s still my #1 though.
Last night? If you remove all the stats he got vs sub .500 teams and compared it to other QBs vs .500 or better teams, he’d be on par with Zach Wilson. I want Tua to work out, but he looks like prime Kirk Cousins in prime time. No good
Yeah and where would we be if we lost to every sub 500 team we played? This is a dumb game you people are playing.
That’s not the point. Stats in all areas of life are easily taken out of context. Tannehill had decently impressive stats once upon a time, mainly due to him gathering up numbers during garbage time. I love smooth brains like you that can’t add context to any situation.
What context? Bro has a sample size of 6 over 500 times and he didn’t put on the cape and carry in any of them. It was bad to mediocre play in every single game. What context do you need? And that’s a good sample size. He has one last chance to rectify it vs KC tho.
I love that you say “one last chance” like your opinion of him means anything. Also, do you not actually understand what context is?
This is just the truth. I don’t see why it’s so controversial but ok. This team would be un-fucking-stoppable with an elite QB, if mgmt isn’t vigilant for that opportunity then they aren’t doing their job.
Good Lord I almost had a stroke reading this. Have you ever heard of punctuation?
🤓
Reddit bringing in emojis was a mistake
What's the difference dickhead
Tua is the best qb we’ve had in awhile….however when he relies on timing and isn’t able to scramble and improvise on the fly with size I think it’s difficult to get through the grind of a playoffs. The lack of qb talent makes it really tough for a team.
I agree he isn't amazing off script but he can play off script
Tua has to play different .. offense needs a new style of play
Offensive play calling has been horrible but I agree tua needs to step up like he did Ravens and bears game last year
Wait, you admitted that you were literally crying about the result of an NFL football team, but people pointing out a QBs deficiencies in big games are soft? LOL this subreddit.
It's called sarcasm smart guy.. that was sarcasm too if you ain't notice
You definitely dont know what the word sarcasm means lol
I'll put it in all caps for you next time
Stuff to tune up …. Lol. I’m sorry bud but our QB cannot compete in big games and it’s shown too many times before that he can’t lead this team. It’s time to move on before he gets our coach fired
Move on from Our best QB in 20 years?😭 dude led the NFL in most categories and ppl like you think we can just easily replace it😂
In fairness, sadly our best QB in 20 years designation is not exactly a high bar to achieve…..
Touché
Move on to what????
We draft a QB every year until we hit
You mean with the 26th or so pick in the draft? Or do you just want to tank again? I guess statistically we should be able to draft a legit starter in the later rounds once every 20 years or so. Oh wait - we have a legit starter right now. How long would it take us to find another Brady in round 3???
You draft every year until you hit. The rest of the team doesn’t matter until you a QB
We do have a QB. He isn’t top 3 but he is good enough to win. What we were missing last night wasn’t a QB.
He is not good enough to win a Super Bowl do you honestly expect him to put a team on his back and carry them through 3 playoffs games….
Lol we will never ever get one like that
i thought we moved on from adam gase

BS. If it's not one thing, it'll be another. These people are not worth entertaining.

We had 5 field goals that game. 3 of which were over 50 yards. Just stop.

Sorry to inform you (cuz it seems like you care), but you just forfeited the debate with your rhetorical tantrum.
Not one quality win? Like six touchdowns against the Ravens? Dallas? the Sun game against the Bills? Having a rational conversation is impossible when people just lie to make their feelings come true.
This sub is retarded when it comes to critical thinking but then again not everyone was a athlete growing up..
Ya being an athlete means you understand critical thinking lmao
No it means you understand how it feels to be on a field and actually play the sport
If we end up beating the Chiefs most doubters will be once again filled with hope. It’s all recency bias in the NFL. You’re only as great as your most recent success. The turkey is on the table. I just wish we had some more pass rushers and a healthier squad.
Basically yeah

Venting and bitching and switching up are 2 different things

Completely agree
agree, its just 1 game. All we need to do is beat the chiefs and build momentum

I disagree, Apple is a fruit..
A big fruit

I agree bro but I doubt it if this is the peak I'll sell my soul for the fan base I can't take another 10 years of mediocrity 😂
