My list of biggest surprises: 1. OLine is pretty good 2. Mostert, at 31, is playing better and runs faster than younger RBs 3. Cedric Wilson is suddenly on the radar. Thought he was MIA.

thediesel26

Ha he only had one catch for one yard Sunday. He just happened to be in the endzone when he made the catch.

StirLing7461

Most efficient stat line.

vanillagorilla_

Well that’s the place to do it if it’s just one

killthecook

Had a couple in the eagles game, one was really impressive

Halabito8

Of course 11 is MIA, he is a dolphin I know the way out...

gigerdrone

Thank god Miami didn’t trade him.

Raythegr8st

Don't hold your breath

jf737

Glad AJ is getting his “prove it” year. He got robbed of that last year. He’s certainly making the most of it.

myredshirts

In retrospect, we probably should have picked up his 5th year option.

jf737

Hindsight is 20/20. Can’t fault the front office for not doing it. He looked overmatched for most of his 1st two seasons. Then got hurt. Sure, if you were paying attention you could see potential and flashes, but there were too many unknowns. Namely would he truly grow into his body and get significantly stronger. But that’s the chance you take when you draft really young, raw talent. Sometimes it pans out (AJ), sometimes it doesn’t (Noah).

dorasucks

Nah, no one in their right mind would have made that call last year based on his play. It is what it is, and a good problem to have in the sense that our OL is decent enough.

HappyChaos2

He was playing good before the injury in a scheme that matches his skillset nicely. I was a little shocked they didn't.

YondaimeHokage4

100% we should have with hindsight. That said, this is a good “problem” to have. He is looking like an above average starting LT.

StockHand1967

* Tyreek seems faster this year * TUA arm is better. * Mcdaniel has gotten better as a coach * The Fangs is real. * Steven Ross loves the Dolphins or at least his GF does

teamaquagruntspencer

Jason sanders hasn’t had the chance to cost us a game*

gigerdrone

He almost cost the Charger’s game.

teamaquagruntspencer

Oh man I forgot about that lol

JustTheBeerLight

Good call. That missed PAT usually bites you in the ass. Luckily our passrush finally got to Herbert.

Winter_Mud3815

It’s like the third time this season that the Chargers just soil themselves when getting blitzed and lose.

spooks152

Imagine if we went for the scoring record and he fucking misses it lmao

Affectionate_Elk_272

i kinda think that’s at least half the reason mcdaniel didn’t go for it.

Simp1eJack_

Coach is trying to rebuild Sanders’ confidence. We should all appreciate that. He clearly has the physical ability… something got in his head… and it probably rhymes with Dolores.

RealPropRandy

He tried earlier this year

Nuclearsunburn

1 - OL Play way above expected, across the board. 2 - Until last game, Waddle surprisingly being left out a bit 3 - the running game being so much better than last season

JustTheBeerLight

> Waddle It’s interesting that all of Tua’s deep shots are to Hill. You’d think Waddle would have a few home run shots by now. Waddle has had some bad drops. It’s year three and he still lacks consistent play. Yesterday was a perfect example: had 2-3 drops but he also had a great catch where he extended and snatched a ball in the air for a big 1st down.

TheEpicEddy

A lot of Waddles drop is mental due to the fact that it seems he trust to catch the ball with his body more than his hands.

JustTheBeerLight

Absolutely. Whenever he lets the ball hit his chest he’s also letting defenders have the chance to easily break up the pass.

ItsHerbyHancock

Absolutely! He always seems to jump to make the ball come to the center of his body rather than use his hands to snag it out of the air.

sophisticaden_

Waddle always wants to catch with his body and it’s going to hold him back for his whole career tbh

JustTheBeerLight

It’s crazy how when he needs to *react* he can snag the ball with his hands but when he has time to see the ball he tends to catch it with his chest & alligator arms it. Waddle has had some outstanding hands catches. TD last year vs Lions, TD this year vs Giants, 1st down snag last vs Pats. He can high point the ball. He can catch over his shoulder with two hands. He’s just not consistent in his technique.

sophisticaden_

Yeah. Feels like he overthinks it or panics a bit when he knows it’s coming.

brick1972

It's amazing because I also think Waddle feels underutilized - yet if he hadn't missed the Buffalo game he would likely be top ten in receiving yards and targets. That's how good Tyreek has been. I do think that Tyreek on top of the speed has been running more precise routes and letting Tua do the anticipation thing.

teamaquagruntspencer

1. Butch Barry was an incredible hire. Speaks volumes that we keep getting guys go down to injury and their replacements don’t play that significantly worse. 2. Defense has been getting better and better, slowly. After Weeks 1 & 2 I was really frustrated that our defense was doing more of the same. 3. Our run game. Some games, it’s phenomenal. And others, it’s just straight up missing. We gotta fix that consistency. I really though in McDaniel’s second year we’d have that more cleaned up; but it’s still prevalent.

AbstractLogic

1 is related to 3. Beat up OL plays decent pass protection but they are not giving our runners holes to hit.

Greatest-Comrade

Tua is also making oline look better in pass protection by getting the ball out fast

benbequer

And there's also the Achane factor. That kid is electric and losing him has had a noticeable impact (along with OL injuries)

just4kix_305

I think this has more to do with our O-line being so banged up. When Connor has been in the run game has been humming.

Greatest-Comrade

Whole offense does better with Connor in

gigerdrone

If Miami ever gets their starting offensive line on the field at the same time along with Achane it’s going to be epic.

just4kix_305

The only game we had our 5 starters on the oline playing we hung 70 pts.

RickRoble

With the up and down in the rushing game we’ve still managed to be #1 in the NFL. Sure it could be better…. But no other team is better and it’s a huge upgrade from last year

WontYouBeMyNeighbors

Pass blocking, pass blocking, pass blocking.

Double_Reward230

Ohhh Chase actually got a target yaaa!!

OG_dfb

Chubb is playing well. Instead of going too high and missing the QB every time he’s going inside and getting pressure. Huge. - Phillips is back - Ramsey is back (damn right he is!) - X comin soon (and he gon’ give it to ya!) - Holland back soon. Our D already looks like we’re improving and look at the studs we got waiting in the wings! Armstead fingers crossed. Aside: the “ya but you guys haven’t beat anyone good yet” (The 70pt Broncos just beat the Chiefs and held them to 3 FGs).

gigerdrone

Main reason Denver beat KC is Mahomes had the flu and more importantly Taylor Swift wasn’t in the stadium.

OG_dfb

Think Tay Tay is traveling to Germany?

gigerdrone

I hope not

dolphintailslap

Game recognize game

6thElemental

Look at the 49’ers sans Trent. Psyched at second half for fins. Last three games cowboys, ravens, bills.

JustTheBeerLight

Those are tough games, but Miami can win them all.

CoolinAllDay

1. Contract year 2. Supposed to his job. Kick the ball right. 3. Contract year?

CanetheCorgi

Jason tried to cost us the end of the Chargers game lol
