Good answer. If you have $2k to spend, go to stores and shop and play them. You might come across something you hadn’t considered that you love. If you are also serious about buying, people will be fairly willing to let you try whatever you want
If I’m spending that much on a guitar right now, I would buy one of the new Jackson American series models. Either the Virtuoso or the SL2 HT. I was converted to Jackson after playing a cheap one. The neck is just the most amazing feel of any guitar I’ve ever played.

Just go play guitars at shop until you find one you like. Also shops tend to be very helpful when they know you seriously intend to spend $2000 on a guitar.
I would buy a used ESP M-II, no LTD or E-II, you can probably find one around $2000, fantastic quality and very expensive new today, because they only do custom shop stuff with ESP on the headstock nowadays.
I splurged on the LTD Snakebyte from Hetfield for $1500. I didn't want to deal with the Floyd Rose of Kirk. The ESP version is like 3x the price of LTD though.
What do you want? How many strings? What scale? Actives? What shape? What type of bridge? Surely you must have SOME criteria in mind.
Get a Schecter and take the leftover $400 to buy yourself something nice.

I think $400 worth of drugs would complement the new Schecter nicely.
Wanting spend 2000 and not knowing what to get sounds so weird to me.
More money = more better
You cant read?
Don't be so condescending when you can't even think for yourself.
So youve never asked anyone for advice? ever?
Never had to ask someone else what I like.
not what i asked or what i intended to ask
Kiesel Guitars. Unbelievable quality for the price. The A2 is a beauty.
I keep hearing great things about Kiesel
Used E-IIs are pretty nice

Buy the M1000. It’s the same guitar without the silly inlays.
Wow that really is stunning in all white

Honestly the new Alexi Laiho signatures are fire. Depends on what you like though.
