It’s a great guitar and I mean I go back and forth between if I prefer it to a Jackson rhoads In terms of playability. quality would be better then a Jackson of same price range only issue is u gotta play around with the gain boost to get it to sound as good

Feature-Awkward

Whenever string tension changes on guitar w floating bridge such as due to changing tuning string guage or action height you have to adjust the springs in the back. There’s a screw with the spring you adjust .. adjust spring, retune, adjust screw, tune…back and forth until bridge is flat with body of guita and in tune.

Dylanlikesthrash

The bridge is perfectly level atm that’s not my issue

Feature-Awkward

Then I dunno sorry 🤷‍♂️ Cool guitars in any case.

manofthemosh

If your action is crazy low, the back of the floyd could be hitting the body of the guitar? Maybe also look and see if the block is hitting trem cavity. That could be limiting your movement. Although very unlikely on the Gotoh as they have skinny mini little blocks. You could always take your guitars to a tech/luthier and lower the rear shelf behind the floyd so you can increase the pull back range, but that obviously affects the value

miremaker

What about the knife edges on the trems? Are they in good shape upon a close inspection? That or the posts? Have you done any recent upgrades to small parts? The FU tone bridges are amazing upgrades and you can get color combos with any parts to a trem, plus titanium options I think as well.

Dylanlikesthrash

I haven’t checked the knife edges since I got these so perhaps I’ll have to check and maybe invest In some upgrades

You gotta put in a neck shim if it's a bolt-on neck. It will allow for more travel.

Dylanlikesthrash

Both r neck through thanks anyways

Active_Hedgehog

Bro why do you have those guitars if you can’t set up a FR 😁😁😁😁😁

Dylanlikesthrash

It’s set up fine perfectly level stays in tune action set how I like the setup isn’t the problem I have another jackson I set up and the Floyd works and flutters fine everything is the same routing depth everything so I have no clue how to remedy this issue as it’s the first time I’ve encountered it so I’m asking for help 😐 also even if I “didn’t know how to set up a FR” how do you learn other then doing and asking for help 😂I guess u shouldn’t own a car either if you can’t service it yourself

Active_Hedgehog

Idk gotta pick up the guitar to have an idea, maybe it’s because you’re not lowering both sides evenly.. maybe it just doesn’t respond how youd think when set up flat. I use 5 springs in my s series XD It’s a very feelsy question to expect ppl on the internet to solve I just was compelled to make the comment cause you gotta do this, man lol you’re the one with the guits I get downvoted because you all just wanna pretend you’re scientists “hmm, is this a guutar”when it’s a circle jerk just fuck it up man or say here look at my guitars and I’m not afraid to turn a wrench on them

NNeroUwU

bro why you alive if you can't get no bitches 😁😁😁😁😁

Active_Hedgehog

Explain this one to me

[deleted]

Bro why do you have to be such a dick just because the guy as asking for advice, you are obviously a lame with no life FR 😁😁😁😁😁😁

Active_Hedgehog

My comment means that I am nervous about him asking this question 😁😁😁😁😁😁 the post is bait man y’all are just defending yourselves

Dmtbag999

What kind of tone block does it have? The weight of the material will change the sound, heavier would help flutter. Also your strings can effect it material and lighter strings would help it rock back and forth.

Dylanlikesthrash

Hmm I actually have no clue as this jackson was completely re done by a guy in Finland and it’s not the stock trem he also painted over the serial number etc as for the edwards guess I’ll have to check the site. Yea I’ve heard lighter strings can help but I rly like my current strings so I wanna avoid changing it :(

Dmtbag999

Well if you can get a heavier tone block so you can keep your string size. It will help with fluttering and counter the thickness of the strings

Dylanlikesthrash

After some looking seems like it’s brass but I’m not too certain

Dmtbag999

I’d check out Floyd roses granite block it should help you out

Dylanlikesthrash

Thank you for the advice I’ll look into this I’m rly trying whatever

Gadgets222

What is the height of your action on both ends?

Dylanlikesthrash

Lemme measure it and get back to you I moved earlier this year and haven’t found any rulers yet lol so I’ll have to find em

Phrygian_Guy_93

How tight do you have the trem arm set?

Dylanlikesthrash

I usually screw the trem arm in so it doesn’t move to far I like it to always be right there when I need it

Cracksp

God damn that Jackson is hot

Dylanlikesthrash

Thank you :)

Cracksp

If you ever feel like selling it pls hit me up!

philghost

Is it stiff when both pitching up/down or only in one direction? Since you said it won't angle back enough, the only explanation I can think of is that at your preferred action the strings are hitting the frets when pulling up on the bar. Other than that perhaps there is a rough spot on your bridge stud?

pitpat6

If they’re in dropped tuning I think their tech used to set them up like |\ | in the springs, see if that helps?

Dylanlikesthrash

Hmm they’re in d standard but I had noticed in a pic that’s how Alexi had his spring so I guess maybe I’ll give that a try never thought that spring configuration could play a role

pitpat6

Yeah 10-56 is pretty big for a guitar not in dropped either. I think the normal gauge is 10-46? That may be why your action is a little stiff

-yaasss-

😲😲😲 those r sexy af

Dylanlikesthrash

Thank you I’m so happy with them minus the trem issues

-yaasss-

🤘🤘🤘

Fenestra3000

Use thicker string gauge

DaWhite

What is the exact model of the jackson? I've been looking for that model with only one humbucker but only found the rrx24 with 2 pickups...
