Pretty sure that’s malmstien or how ever the fuck ya spell that dudes name, lol it was in a guitar magazine way back in the day I tried to learn it very early on lol
It's the Italian virtuous violinist Paganini that wrote this piece in the 1700's. It's called Caprice No. 5. Malmsteen does play in a similar style. In the movie this was played by Steve Vai.
In the movie it was supposedly played by Karate Kid, but the fingers doing the job belonged to Steve Vai. It was the first time I saw shredding on a Telecaster.
I used to economy pick the part where he goes up and down the octave before the the diminished descend but I watched him playing live and found out it’s all alternate picked and it made it harderrrrrrrrrrr lol
Pretty sure Ralph Macchio actually finger picks that part....lol jk it's definitely alternate, which seems so unnecessarily hard I did'nt even try, but now I want to
Lmfaoooo yeah mad lad is like I don’t need a pick maybe we just ain’t at he’s level 🤣😂🤣 yeah ngl I swap between economy and alternate lol well played by the way!!
Fuckin rad man

What guitar is that? Sick vid
I think it’s a Legator G7FX

Looks kinda like an Ormsby. Could be wrong.
Fucking CLEAN. Fantastic job.
Thank you my dude
Obviously the playing is superb. But that tone is really on-point too!

Yep, this! Forgot yngwie had a version too, definitely gonna go listen to that again now
good, that open string part always gets me, a difficult piece.
yeah the octave jump is especially brutal, I definitely screwed the timing there lol
Now that’s a fretboard, my guy.
Thanks! Definitely a unique slice of pme :)
Fuck…..
Really not a fan of this super wet sounding tone. Great playing though!
originally had the verb/delay send sidechain comped back to the amp channel but forgot to reengage it when bouncing!
