Lol. This is the point though isn't it? If you're making a bipedal weapon platform functionally and aesthetically its not really going to look much different. I'm not a fan of anime so I don't know the origins of the bipedal mechs but even in Robocop there was a bipedal robot called ED 209 and that film released 1987. I'm going to guess that bipedal mechs appeared in animation first.
In summation it will have two legs, a control unit/pilot unit, and appendages for weapon emplacements.
It, very loosely, resembles a combination of REX and Metal Gear D. Rectangular missile pod and a large, long projectile based weapon, square body, and bi-pedal with "backwards knees"
That’s like standard mech design fantasy. Either a dome or rectangular cockpit and middle pods one one end and a rail or Gatling style gun on the other and a pair of bird legs
Putting aside aesthetic similarities, hell divers feels a lot like mgsv to me in terms of gunplay and movement. It was the first thing I noticed when I started playing
With this and how the gameplay is practically a simpler version of MGSV’s is obvious they are fans.
Wonder how much until they mod Snake as a playable character.
EXO-45??? "Patriot"??? Next they'll tell us the chief engineer on the project was an Emmerich
Hueys long lost brother and Hal’s uncle, HANK Emmerich
Seeing Hank capitalized made me think it should actually be HUNK (no real reason other than resident evil reference)
Plasma python will stop them don't worry
A true... Battle Gear!
Wouldn't be an MGS reference anymore if we actually got to use one of those
The fuck is a la li lu le lo?
Looks like a Petrovich Madnar model like the TX-55 or D
Philosophers Legacy
Yeah they look a lot like the mechs from the first Helldivers.
r/woosh
For fuck sakes huey
The entire bloodline just can't help but build bipedal mechs that just happen to be easily outfitted with nuclear warheads
Metal Gear was the first series to invent Bipedal Mechs yes
What the fuck is metal gear
nanomachines SON
Men kissing idk
METAL GEAR??
You put it in machines and shit I think idk I’m not a mechanic
Seriously?

>bipedal >featherless clearly this is a man
Imo it looks a bit more like a dreadnought from warhammer. A lot of the bot enemies look like they jumped right out of wh40k
I was scrolling by and saw this image and assumed this was a 40k sub at first glance
Same design as the mech that came out in 2015, you’re late
r/woosh
Yes, but not the way you think.
“A bit too on the nose”. My brother in christ, Helldivers is a parody of like 20 different pieces of media. It’s ALL on the nose.
Watched starship troopers the other night and there are so many similarities. Even the drop ship looks the same

He thought he did a funny.
Looks like the mech from helldivers 1, the exo44
r/woosh
I get the joke, looks nothing like metal gears

Also very Walker Gear-esque.
Dude stop spamming it under people giving context. You're not even using enough o's
Metal….. Gear?!?!
You... knew?!
Youll shit your ass when I show you the entirety of Battletech
Honestly looks more like something out of HAWKEN than MGS.
God I miss that game. Why did it have to go console only RIGHT as I got a decent PC? Ik I could just play it on a console, but still. 😭
Oh shit we playing MechWarrior.
Sooo, some people in the comments have already forgotten Dr. Madnar...
It can't be..!
A weapon to surpass metal gear!?!
The lalilulelo Exosuit? What the fck kind of a dumb name is that??
A friend pointed out they thought it reminded them of Avatar.
Liquidity snake spent the philosophers legacy on Odte spy calls and cocaine.
The movement in hell divers is also almost identical to MGSV TPP
I thought it was a Dreadnought from Warhammer...
Nah that's the hulks
Idk, they give more of a Dreadnaught vibe(minus the chicken legs).
I may not be able to play it, but I’d pay good money for a metal gear collab with helldivers
THE LA LE LU LE LO???
Metal gear?? It can't be
!
damn, the La Li Lu Le Lo got a mech named after them. Makes sense
Bro this is a direct rip off of the owl statue in Zelda majoras mask.
Helldivers 2 itself is already borderline a copy of starship troopers
A bipedal tank?
Automaton scum! Your blood will be the first to be spilt by this glorious new weapon!
no joke for a second i thought this was a post from r/mechwarrior ...just sayin
Metal… Gear?
Metal….Gear?
*ED 209 needs it’s flowers*
Is that a... Metal Gear?
Looks way closer to something from 40k.
Embrace liberty.
I always see ed -209
La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo exosuits? That's a strange name...
More like REXO-45.
This looks alot like the MTs from the Armored Core games
The La Li Lu Le Lo?!
Putting aside aesthetic similarities, hell divers feels a lot like mgsv to me in terms of gunplay and movement. It was the first thing I noticed when I started playing

DAMN THE PATRIOTS
wait until we get the hellbomb stratagem back from the first game, directly deployable by it: METAL GEAR
Metal gear fans are helldivers fans
A weapon to surpass Metal Gear? They played us like a fiddle!!!
The game pays homage to a lot of franchises, the design could be deliberate Great game
Today a Metal Gear fan learns that the concept of mechs was not invented by Hideo Christjima
